Gelato are potted up into the no-till planter - all 5 into one, but it's fine, it's a phenotype hunt. I plan to top them only once (as opposed to twice like the Thai) in an attempt to keep the canopy height relatively even.

Grow Questions

Anyone had a pepper-y aroma in a pheno of something normally very tasty? The other plants are really quite nice, very Kush-y - had a few popcorn buds in the vape - but one has this really stinging black pepper aroma to it. Will this turn into something more pleasant with curing?

It might not get sweet unless you add molasses, it's cheap and it's bio . You can get rid of any kinda plant taste with curing some people even mess up their bud by putting boveda packs in their jars too early. It's pretty normal to get a bad taste with no curing though, so i would stay optimistic. It's all good it will probably mellow out into something citrussy and og or something if I had to guess.

Are you doing a smoke review? I'm interested about this strain here. Congrats on the harvest! ๐Ÿ˜Ž

@HighTV, thanks! ๐Ÿ˜ I don't think my taste buds are more sophisticated than "mhmm Kush" and "that reminds me an awful lot of that brambleberry yogurt I gorged myself on as a kid!" (or "what's that black pepper doing in my brambleberry yogurt?" as the case may be). I'd say give it a go ๐Ÿ‘ the bandwidth of phenotypes I got was reasonably narrow, so you shouldn't have to expect any terrible surprises other than maybe the odd one out where the taste might not be quite up there. I had 5 plants, 1 was fantastic, 2 were very nice, 1 was still good, and only 1 was not immediately recognisable (more due to a lack of taste than difference, which could also have been my own fault).
