Finally arriving at the end! πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰ This has been a Great first growing experience. Once again, I want to thank all those that helped me along the way πŸ™πŸ» Couldn't have done it without the help and support of this communityπŸ’ͺ The girls are looking great about 5%-10% amber trichs. 😍 Today is day 85 from sprout. Going to be chopping Friday most likely, Saturday at the latest. Would love to hear opinions on the 48hrs of darkness. Is it necessary? Is there any difference from harvesting at the end of their night cycle when thc is peaked? Will update with pics later on in the week. Happy Growing! πŸ’šπŸ’ͺ🌱😎🌱πŸ’ͺπŸ’š

Grow Questions

I asked this question on my other diary which is a different strain but part of the same 1st Grow. I may have been confusing with my words. My question is this. My seeds have been sprouted 8 days now running on a 24hr lighting, is it too late to switch to a 20/4hrs ?And Should I?

Not to late, you can switch your light whenever you want with autos, most people do it week 4 or 5 or when its in flower from my experience. Some growers do 24/0 for the first three-four weeks and then switch to 20/4 or 18/6. Sometimes down to 12/12 but I think that's unneeded. I do 18/6 all grow as I use dry amendments, the soil microbes needs to breakdown first before the plants can benefit from it so its a bit slower. There's a 55+ page form on this exact subject from auto-flower networks website, most people use 20/4 now according to their survey. https://www.autoflower.net/forums/threads/whats-the-best-lighting-cycle-for-autos-24-0-20-4-or-18-6.3691/ However it is important to note it depends on the phenotype and strain your growing and also the type of feed your giving. It's not good for the plant to be under 24/0 for it entire life, plants need rest, all living things need a downtime. If you are using liquid nutrients and hydro setup 20/4 is good, or 24/0 for a short period of time is also ok during veg week 1-4. The issue comes down to the plant up taking nutrients to keep the growing process going. Liquid = faster | dry = slower Also hydro costs are an issue as well, yields don't seem to be crazy higher for 24/0 vs 20/4 compared to cost of hydro and plants yield and if I remember correctly some people on that form said 18/6 yields a bit lower in yield but quality of the bud is higher. Best of luck

I think I have severly stunted my girls. Maybe I am comparing too much to other growers. My light has been hanging at 29in at 100% which was the recommendation. I think I damaged them. Can they recover? I saw a diary with the same light/strain at a hang height of 30in @60% power.

Seedlings don’t need super bright lights at the beginning friend. But she looks fine man. And yes you have to stop comparing your grow to other grows. Read your plant and treat her the way she needs to be treated. She’ll be fine though, weed is resilient. No stress friend πŸ€™

My plants appear to be a yellowish color. I am not sure why. I have tried correcting everything I could think of . Run off pH is consistently 5.8. Ppm/Ec is fine. Light is now at 28in/71cm above canopy only at 70% power. Temperature and humidity stay in great range. I don't know.

Autos... They start their feed from sprout at 200 ppm 0.4 ec. 400 ppm 0.8 ec is the start for photos. 400 is to high for autos to start and being at 533 ppm is to high for this stage of their life. Roots weren't ready for that high a ppm from the start. So right now they should be at 300 to 350 max. Your roots should recover and start pulling nutrients back up and into the plant. Everything else is fine. Once you see some good growth increase 100 ppm every week until you reach 600 to 650 ppm. That's about their limit and your getting close to that already.

Is this pest damage? I have combed through these plants with 30x mag and 60x mag can't find anything I'm at a loss. Idk what else to look for

I see defiencies/ excesses I'm just unsure of what is going on. I am putting in a nutrient ppm of 500ish and getting out 440-500ish in run-off. Ph going in is 5.8 pH coming out is 6.5-6.7. I have heard coco will buffer to 6.5..running out of room here.. any ideas?

When in doubt flush them out with more solution till you get your desired PH. Your in hydro and this is a nice and easy way to fix it. Coco also tends to do this, buffer build up. I would flush with PH'd water and a week solution of calmg 1ml/l Will help fix any cation exchange sites that may have opened up as its degrades throughout the grow. Follow though with your scheduled nutrients when you hit your PH mark. Good Luck!

I would let your PH come up to aorund 6.2-6.3 now that your in flower. Try that and see if it stops it from reoccurring. Try not to remove the leaves as they will be an indicator if it is improving. or getting worse. Some spotting is ok in the transition to bloom. Best Of Luck!

Inexperienced grower here in fear of pollen sacs. I think my plants developing pollen sacs/ manners. Can anyone confirm? The pics I can find of hermie plants look different but still I don't remember seeing these "sacs" earlier in the week

Your in the clear, that's just a swollen calyx, it has pistils emerging from it. I did the same thing my first grow and had a mini panic. A sack will not be as fuzzy and tends to point down a bit and be attached by a little stem. My OG Kuch grow got sacks, but also was a 100% male. growdiaries.com/diaries/49742-dinafem-og-kush-autoflowering-grow-journal-by-m0use/week/256650 Happy Growing!

Quick update for new growers like myself- BUY A pH PEN. I had bought a pH and PPM set and was not using the pH meter. Only using the GH pH Kit with indicator drops. THESE ARE NOT ACCURATE. Upon testing my runoff pH after calibrating my pH pen ( I was being lazy I didn't feel like calibrating it at first, which is why I was using the drops as pH measurement), I was astounded to see my runoff pH measuring 8.46. I WAS TRYING TO FIGURE WHY ONE PLANT WAS GETTING BROWN TIPS. I think I nailed it down now though. Happy Growing πŸ’ͺ

So I split this grow into two separate diairies for each strain. I was ignorant to the fact only single strain diaries qualify for future contestsπŸ˜… Thank you to everyone who has checked in on my first grow. Happy Growing ! πŸ€™πŸ’ͺ🌱😎🌱πŸ’ͺπŸ€™

@MadRomdel, Yea thanks man! It seemed to be the most effective while still having a slight buffer. I wanted to avoid pests if possible! I also feel i may have defoliated a little excessively, but I am excited for the next couple of weeks. Thank you for checking it out!πŸ™ Happy Growing πŸ’ͺ😎

All are looking good bro nice LST you’ll be doing a lot more of that soon enough flowering can’t be that far off now are you still on 24 for the lights
Capo420
Capo420commented3 years ago
@Dean1, Thanks Bro! Yes I am honestly considering just finishing this run at 24hrs as the opinions vary greatly on it. Next run will be at least one of each of the strains I am growing now plus 2 new ones at either 18/6 or 20/4. That way I can compare for myself.

All looking good I had yellowing on the majority of the orange sherbet Iv grown lately there’s something between weeks 3 to 6 were Iv had issues with yellowing and burnt edges but the new growth seems to be ok Iv only just started to use ec and ppm but still not getting it right good luck with the yellowing πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

I was unsure when I first started with autos I remember doing 20/4 until they went in to flowering then went for 18/6 but have carried on with the 18/6 just so they got a bit of dark away from the light. But Iv seen plenty of diary’s that do 24 all the way and had good results it really is what do you do πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

Just added a supplement IR booster yesterday... hopefully it will trigger these ladies to begin bud production.. right now it's still just pistols, not complaining as that should equal a bigger harvest; but I am limited on space πŸ˜
