This run I am using purely HP Pro-Mix with Mycorrhizae. I will be amending with Gaia Green Organic dry amendments once the plant is large enough.

Slow initial growth due to bad VPD and a bit too much water. Corrected it and now they are beginning to respond a bit better.

This week I took the fan covers off my 2 tent fans as they were collecting dust and water minerals from the humidifier and then blowing them around and getting them on the leaves. Once I removed them and cleaned the fan blades everything is keeping cleaner and there is more airflow without them. The Bubba Kush is growing nicely and looks healthy. There is very little space between nodes currently and it is getting quite bushy. I am going to let 1 more node pair come out and then I am going to top it and begin LST. The plan with this is to keep it as a mother and as the lone photo in the tent while the other 3 autos finish themselves off within 3 months. I am going to keep this in veg and cut clones off it so hopefully by the time the autos finish then I will have a bunch of Bubba Kush clones already on their way in veg to speed up the process. I will then use a sea of green technique with the clones as soon as the autos are finished and out of the tent.

Growth is starting to speed up. This strain produces some very large fan leaves. I have topped it once and am doing some LST to open the canopy a bit as the node spacing is very tight. Once large enough I will consider taking clones to have them ready for when the autoflowers in the tent next to it are done. Then I will have saved potentially a 1-2 months growth.

They are looking a little rough right now after earlier in the week when I defoliated a bit and then trained them out with rubber wire. They also had a bit too much water for a day or 2 but are beginning perking up now that the first flower buds have arrived. I top dressed at the beginning of the week with organic fertilizer to keep her going.

Letting her grow out her hair so to speak. Just letting this one continue to veg beautifully while the other 3 autoflowers finish up. At some point I will need to defoliate and remove some growth to control its size to allow the auto's more room to flower. So far this is my fav to grow, it is very resilient to environmental changes, grows huge wide fan leaves and naturally likes to stay short, fat and bushy. So far this pheno is the last seed from my 5 pack of bubba I've already grown out and the spacing and leaves are looking really good.

Defoliated the lower skirt a bit to allow better air flow and watering ability. I am probably going to start taking cuttings from it next week and begin my small clone nursery to prepare for next month after the rest of the tent is harvested. I added Gaia Green organic amendments this morning before watering so it should break down and become available for the plant for the start of the 3rd month. I usually amend once per month to avoid the soil leaching nutrients. I want to avoid any deficiencies with this mother as I will have it in the veg state longer than I have before with my previous Bubba Kush grow.

Had some bad luck recently. I took a number of clones off my mother and had them in their heated nursery tray. While I was moving some things around it it fell off the shelf, spilling everywhere and the clones were pretty much killed. At this point in veg the mother is showing nutrient and environment stress from being in the same tent as the flowering plants and their needs. I am seeing leaves die on the upper growth and am wondering what I should do. Do I try to get more clones off it and start over? Or do I try to transplant it and send the mother into flower to at least get something going.

This thing is getting big now. I transplanted it to a felt pot twice the size and re amended into the new soil. It is growing even more rapidly. Very soon I will be sending it into flower once the others are done and I have prepped it.

I have since harvested and dried the other flowering plants in the same tent. While that was happening this week, the plant was temporarily housed in another room. At that time I heavily defoliated and super cropped to spread it out. The pic above is actually from the next week, I didn't get a photo during this week.

At this point the mother is back in the main tent and has the 2 small clones growing in 3gal pots in the front. I put in the SCROG net and wove the mother and the 2 clones through it. I am going to give another week or 2 before I flip to flower to allow some time for it to bounce back and for the clones to adjust to being transplanted. At that time I will fertilize the mother in prep to flower her and the clones out.

This is the last week of veg for this mother. It is starting to show some issues with some discolouration in the leaves. I re amended the soil incase it is just starting to get deficiencies from being vegged for so long. I just triggered the switch to 12-12 light to induce flowering on it and its 2 clones in the front. The clones were also amended with the same ratio to support going into flower. I may also have been having some watering issues that are making it look like deficiencies. I have since dropped the temp a couple degrees to an avg of 24 during the day with a bit lower light intensity and lowered the humidity down to between 50-60%. The soil is still quite wet so I think I need to back off and let it dry out for a couple days at the new conditions and lower the amount I am watering.

Flipped into flower last week and working on correcting some nutrient deficiencies from such a long veg cycle. Added some organic chicken shit pellets for slow release calcium supplementation. The 2 clones in front are doing nicely and stretching into the first week of flower.

Have been watering a little less and just defoliating any leaves that were dying off or had previous old nutrient deficiency/light burn since correction. Adding the calcium seems to be helping the new growth and the discolouration is stopping. Starting to see little flower appear on all my sites and the stretch has been quite strong this time around, especially on the 2 clones. Going to keep just watering and look at top dressing amendments in a week or 2.

Just watering every couple of days when dry and letting the flowers develop. I will probably fertilize next week going into week 4. They are developing nicely and the clones in front have stretched quite a bit in the last couple weeks.

The mother plant is fading alot while the clones havent shown any signs of it yet. I am worried the mother plant will be finished way early or be inferior. I guess that is a lesson for having a plant like this in veg for so long. Next time I would instead take more clones and then use my space to flower the clones instead of the aging mother with the clones. This was also an experiment for fun though and I didnt want to waste all that veg time.

Fertilizing once more this week with organic dry amendments to bring it into the final few weeks before harvest. The mother plant is fading rapidly and having more nutrient issues than the clones but I figure this is due to the extensive grow time the mother went through. I will be curious to see what ends up being better smoke the mother or the clones.

Just waiting and watering. Nothing exciting at this point. Removing any leaves that are deficient and dying to open up the canopy a bit.

Mate looking good but I was wondering how many clones you can get from youre mother plant ? And why not Just plant New steeds?
LakeLander88
LakeLander88commented3 years ago
@XII_XII_EarlyRaver, I can get pretty much as many clones as I want provided the mother plant stays healthy, in a vegetative state and that I continue re-amending nutrients. The benefits being being potentially numerous. For one, I have limited space and only one true tent so while I am flowering out some autos I have which are almost finished I have some clones in a small nursery that will already be established in the veg stage for when the autos are harvested. I will then take the small clones and veg them a bit longer with the mother then flower that out right away skipping potentially 2 extra months of growth time waiting from seed. It just gives me a quicker turnaround and greater yield with limited space and I get the same desired pheno traits of the mother on all the clones.

if you want good terps id add some kelp meal to this feeding regime, or you can replace your rock dust with kelp meal cause kelp meal has all the nutrients in it already no rock dust needed
