Grow Questions

Question about exhaust. Never grown indoors before. If temp and humidity are spot on and I have circulating fans on when lights on, do I need to run inline exhaust 24/7? I open the door daily to get come co2 in there. Inline Fan is 203 cfm. Tent 2x2x4. It cools the tent fast.

Yeah these answers seem spot on. Just remember, there normally is very low levels of CO2 in the air, unless there is a nearby contributor. So if you don’t replace old air before it gets old, then air inside the tent can very easily dip bellow a minimum threshold in co2 levels to sustain normal growth. Just keeping the ventilation on the lowest setting as a bare minimum for tent ventilation, can make a dramatic improvement.

I run it 24/7. If it's not needed for reducing heat or humidity I keep it on its lowest speed setting. The reason for that is that plants will grow best with a little bit of air circulation/flow. Plants did not evolve in an indoor setting, and constantly release humidity and gases during transpiration. Airflow strengthens stems and allows leaves to transpire more effectively. If you are running a closed system with added CO2 or have lots of circulation within the tent already that changes things and I can give advice based on those kinds of setups. If your extraction fan does not have adjustable speeds, then the idea of running it on a timer is a possible solution. Happy growing! 🌱👍

I have a Vivosun vs1000. Paper that came with it says seedling 24 inches. This conflicts with things that I have read saying 18. Anyone have experience with this light? It’s in a 2x2x4 Vivosun tent. Thanks

Light intensity should increase as plant grows till flowering. If you don't have a dimmer then 24 to 30 inches in seedling stage is roughly right.

I would be inclined to do what the manufacture says for its light heights unless you have a light meter. The height of a light vs the seedling or canopy is all based on how strong the light is. Not every light is the same strength. Light is measured in a few forms as PPFD, PAR, or DLI and others, its all dependant on that measurement. https://www.growyour420.com/ppf-ppfd-dli-par-values/ watch the video at the end of it. it does a great job explaining everything about light that can be cramped into 16min. Good Luck

What do you consider day 1? I’m used to outdoor so really only keep tracks of weeks. And that’s even done loosely. My girl is 1 week since tap root emerged in the paper towel. Counted day one as when she broke the surface of the medium.

That's entirely down to the individual. I like to do day 1 as start of germination because then I know every thing about the journey of that seed. How long it took to germ, how long seed took to sprout, how long seedling took from seed etc. But alot of growers will time it when seedling emerges.

Thanks so much. Slow start. First seed didn’t germinate. Too cold in the house. Used to spring temps for outdoor. Made the right changes and had success with take 2. Out me a couple days behind. Wanna be done by 420

Hello! Your plant looks pretty much like mine, although the strain is different. On week 5 of veg I've had the same issue with droopines and some Ca deficiency as your plant had on week 6. In my case that was caused by too heavy light schedule. I was on 20/4, about 460 PPFD and 33 DLI for a few days. Then the signs of Ca/Mg deficiency appeared. Had to foliar spray it with 1 ml/l CalMag and go 18/6 with less intensity. That helped a lot. It's a pity that your plant didn't start flowering under 18/6. I can imagine the amount of stress you've had. That's very disappointing fact about autos. With photoperiod you would easily go 12/12 from week 4-5 and save a lot of time. But when it's unclear, that sucks. My plant also was a bit late to start, and I was nearly to flip to 12/12 when on day 40 I saw the flowering is about to begin. When I look at your plant I recognize mine in many details, although they seem to be very different genetically. Also you didn't LST and no defoliation is done. I think it's good. In the Grower's Bible Jorge Cervantes was saying "Removing large fan or shade leaves DOES NOT make plants more productive" and "Removing large fan leaves to allow more intense light to reach small buds or to stress plants is crazy!". I feel so sorry for the plants I see here on growdiaries, that were heavily pruned or defoliated. With Farbic pot I feel it's very hard to overwater the plant if the runoff water is removed in time, and for me the best way to measure soil moisture is weighting the pot by hands. You will have fantastic yield in few weeks. I hope the size of your growbox will be enough for those monster buds. 😉 Wish you the best of luck with your flowering girl!

week 11 looks good, you may want to change lights to: on 12 hours off 12 hours, to get her in flower mode
