Started with seeds in water for 24H, then in a container with paper towel at 27°C . Germination of 4 seeds in 24H :-) Day 2, still waiting for the 2 Zamaldelica to start 🙏 First night went down to 8 °C ... I added a heater 😅 but i am not sure what temp would be the best for the germination week ?Jorge Cervantes says in his encyclopedia that low temperatures increase the number of female plants ? Germination +5 days : 18H of light Temperature is around 24°C 6H of Dark, Temperature is around 19-20°C The 4 plants are growing well, 5cm high. Still waiting for the other 2 but with no hope 😅 Light distance from the plants is 80cm

Hi guys, Happy to be here and learn more about growing these magical plants. Do yout think that 315W CMH will be enough for 6 plants ? And what distance should i put it from the young seeds ? thank you 😀

snip it from an article. 315W is the most popular size for LECs/CMH grow lights. Both the 315 LEC and 315 CMH grow lights should be kept at least 18″ from the top of your plants, with some models needing to be kept as far as 3 feet away. https://www.growweedeasy.com/how-far-grow-lights#lec-cmh-grow-lights-distance-plants I would suggest consulting the manual for your unit. See if their are any generalized PAR light maps for your model as that will give you a good idea for the height it needs to be hung. If this info does not exist ask the company for technical data on it, they should be able to provide something. best of luck

The seeds were placed immediately after germination directly in 15 Liters smart Pots. One Std seed took longer to start. the Auto is a little bit smaller than the Std seeds. I forgot to mention that in the 2 pots on the right (Std seeds) I added in the mix some Mycrorrhizal inoculant (TNC MycorrMAX) just to see if it helps.

Hi , What do you think of the Auto Fem seed? she is now smaller than the others and she was the first one to start !? Strange Yellowing on the leaves ...

What pre feed is in your soil? I did not see any nutrients in the diary? They should not need any food just yet unless the medium it started out in depleted. Some autos will also just be picky and grow a few inches and bloom. But I have found they do not like a much feed as Photos and are more sensitive to high stress training/transplanting and only gentle LST should be used on them. The dark green on the leaves suggest its getting enough nitrogen and and yellowing may look like hungry but I don't think it is. If anything when its ready for feed use less. Also last note, I find with autos being so picky they like soiless more so then soil, but this could very well be my own bias. I can only speak from my own experiences.

PaulMstarted grow question 3 years ago
I usually grow Outdoor, easier I don't add any nutrients to the plants. Only organic things during the grow, if something is missing. The soil is a mix of compost and earth with nutrients (stuff you buy for vegetables). When you are talking of ppm, what is it about ? Nitrogen ?

I just checked your diary. The yellowing of the seedling leaves is of no concern at this age, often the first few sets of leaves can be "funny" as the plant establishes itself and I would definitely not feed or worry about the leaves at this age of your seedlings, they will work themselves out and get going soon enough. However, growing autos and photoperiod plants in the same tent is going to pose problems, your photoperiod plants will not flower at 18/6 and your autos will not perform very well at 12/12. When it comes to tent growing, it is all autos or all photoperiod plants and never mix the two, otherwise one is going to lose out, sorry to say.

I moved the Auto out from center, because i am thinking maybe she got too much light ? Let me know your ideas about this one ;-) Otherwise i think the other are growing well. I measured 20000 Lux and it converts to 363 PPFD. Maybe a little high zt the beginning ?

At 28 days from germination, plants are 20cm high (except the auto : 12cm) Some are smelling more than others. I use 1L of water every 3 days. Hygromettry is a bit low since i use the air extractor, so I might use a towel with water to raise it a little bit. I am waiting the end of the week to decide if i cut the main stem ... or not 😅 Finally I cutted the top of each plant except the Auto. I removed the first branches at the bottom . So I have 5 nodes of branches left.

Will put the screen soon. Done. Made of wood and flax fiber : 8x8cm grid. I started to bent gently the top of the plants in the corner direction I finally put back in the center the Auto Fem Zamaldelica which should finish before the others. (She started to flower at the end of week 4) I hope they will fill all the grid 😬 I received a replacement seed for the Auto Fem because i was not happy with the development of this plant. It's good to noticeb that ACE have a very good and fast customer service , great company 👌 This week was very slow growing , maybe because of the Topping ? Humidity is also varying a lot (20% to 80%) I will try to water every 2 days now because they probably need more water.

Filling the grid then flipping to flower is the idea. Just keep everything horizontal and once the grid is full, go to 12/12 and be prepared for some serious stretching. With this awesome strain, you may have to go to 11/13 to get her to finish flowering and tame those Sativa reflowering genes!

The branches are growing but I had to push the screen down because the growth was not sufficient. New leaves are a bit more yellow-green . And spider mites are arriving ... The more i look at them, the more i think they don't grow... something is missing ? nitrogen ? At the end of that week, if they have not grow well, i will probably remove the screen because i don't see the point of starting flowering next week with so much holes ... If the spider mites are arriving it will be easier to remove plants and clean them outside the tent. I got rid of the spider mites (black soap and rinsing with water), I hope they don't come back too fast. The last 2 days of the week, the growth has been better and the yellowing is gone , maybe because i used diluted urine (1/10) for watering. Also I stopped the air extractor, the last 2 days, because i was getting very low humidity (between 20 and 60%) and I thought it might be a reason they were getting yellowish or dryish...? Now the leaves looks much better.

I could see some roots at the base of the truncs, so I added some new compost and earth on top. They looks good and are all clean to start there first flowering week. 2 std seeds have not yet declare their sex. So 3 female for the moment only... I did some LST on some branches that were going up like crazy. The plants who are not declared seems to have thicker , harder branches that don't need LST at the moment.

Now we have 4 female plants. I think i will continue not to have the air filtration because it dries the air too much. They grow better with more humidity. I will reduce humidity when all plants will have more flowers. The Auto zamaldelica smells really nice ! The plant at the bottom left corner of the image is a male. End of the show for him :-(

They seems to grow well, the Auto feminized is not a big plant , but the buds are getting bigger everyday and the smell of the trichomes is amazing... The feminized plant is also a little smaller than the 2 others. I am adding in the middle of this week a new lamp (200W CFL 2100K) because I can't light all the buds correctly with my light. Finally I was afraid not to fit the screen but they grew pretty well in the last month. I hope it will help also with the yield and different wavelength.

Sorry, this week i was too busy... At the end of this week I harvested the Auto Feminized. It is not big but the smell is really nice. This plant had some spidermites, it was time to cut it, because there was more and more. the other plants seems to have no spider mites at all at this point.

Really, Really different than my Zamaldelicas!! I am chocked! I expected some form of mad stretch... About your light, is the bulb horizontal or vertical? Is your grow tent a 4x4 or 5x5? (not blaming it for the size of your plants: poor light encourage stretchy leggy plants....)
PaulM
PaulMcommented3 years ago
@HighRoller909, I can tell you that the smell is really rich and exotic. Will have to be patient for the harvest... The good thing about the Auto is that it will be ready before the others 😎
PaulM
PaulMcommented3 years ago
@sativaman, The tent is 5x5. The light is a Philips Master GreenPower CDM-TP 315W/930, horizontal position. Maybe they don't receive enough CO2 but i can't open fresh air too much because outside temp is too cold at the moment (0-3 ° C) Inside temp is around 22-23°C. Maybe that is why they are not bigger ?

@sativaman, last week I met Luis and other ACE staff, Zamaldelica is what they all recommended to me. They are so proud of it. I couldn't find opportunity to try it yet but is definitely on my list. I'm sure they are still working on it hard because I asked if they could recommend me a seed to buy, they all said "Zamaldelica!" at different times.

Weedelfe

Hi PaulIM ! They say: During seedlings at least 48 cm from canopy with a 400 W HID During Veg and flowering 30-35 cml from canopy. I think the plants didn't develop well after week 5 because of the 60cm lamp/canopy distance. They didn't get enough light. You're right they develop much better with enough humidity. If you have a good airflow ( air extractor and fans on 24/24), there is no need to go under 45/50 at any price during flowering and you plants will grow and live better. Good luck with the coming weeks !
PaulM
PaulMcommented3 years ago
@@Weedelfe, i made one with a towel in a plastic masonry container. consumption was 4 liters every 3 days. Maybe not enough... But for someone like me who is used to grow outdoor, it is a little annoying to have all these things plugged and consuming electricity. It's not so simple to grow indoor but i wanted to give it a try and have a harvest early in the year. That is the main advantage. you are right, I might have to try a real humidifier if i want to grow indoor again.
Weedelfe
Weedelfecommented3 years ago
@PaulM,Did you invest in a air humidifier ? (They really need a good airflow and air renewal )
PaulM
PaulMcommented3 years ago
@@Weedelfe, thanks for your comment, i agree. the reason i had to put the light higher is because the air was low in humidity , it was drying and burning the leaves. The problem is that if i use the air extractor, humidity vary between 20% and 60% . For the last 2 weeks (without airflow), humidity is varying between 50 and 90% and they seems to grow much better.
