Super easy grow. I was sick for a week and didn’t water the plants so I got a lot of yellowing leaves and I just let the plant naturally defoliate and got a bunch of new growth in the process. I stick to the TDS feeding schedule for coco and aim to water every 2 to 3 days depending on how light the pot feels. I do add a little molasses to every other feed and have only used water without any nutrients twice. Fog Dog gave me some problems with stretching and I snapped off a few stems during training but it bounced back very well and is just as tall as the Crystal Candy XL. On the Crystal Candy only the main stem is bent over and tied down. Growth in the Fog Dog is crazy and I’ve had to bend over the main stem twice as well as bend over several others that have shot to the top.
Crystal Candy is very sticky and stinky.
Fog Dog has small bud sites but they’re all over. Not much smell from this one yet.
+Speed Auto looks like it’s bouncing back. Topped it by mistake and it’s had lots of regrowth since. It’s also getting the same nutrient and water schedule as the other two and still seems to respond well.
Crystal Candy has nice dense flowers fully covering most of the stems. Can’t wait for them to really fatten up.
I removed some bud sites at the bottoms on the Fog Dog. It’s starting to get a nice smell to it and the small bud sites are starting to fill out all over the plant.
1/23 - Beginning of week 11 for Crystal Candy. Will start to give plain water only starting tomorrow
1/25 - Still week 10 for the Fog Dog but the leaves have started to get a nice little fade to them. Buds are getting plump and dense. I have a few weeks left before I chop so there’s plenty more time to fatten up
1/27 - Week 11 for Fog Dog finally began and the buds on both are looking nice and frosty and smelling up the tent
1/30 - Noticed some spider mites on the fog dog a few days ago. I trimmed the top of the infested buds and cleaned the mites and webs off several times a day and raised the humidity back up. They seem to be gone for now so I will probably finish out this grow with a slightly higher humidity than normal. I have heavy airflow so it shouldn’t be an issue.
I’m of course ready to chop but went back to using nutrients as I think the plants can both still go another two weeks.
Spider mites on the Fog Dog are down to a minimum with the raised humidity. I have two hygrometers in the tent and there’s always a 10% difference in the rh between them so I’m going to purchase a new set to get a more accurate reading
Changed nutrients last week after receiving the sample kit from Nectar for the Gods. Currently running the entire sample line as is on the feeding chart and noticing really good results. In late flower on TPS One the buds went from hard as a rock to soft and fluffy. I did one feeding with Nectar For the Gods and all the buds started to get dense again as well as plump up. I’m going to try and get another two weeks before I chop both.
Spider mites still a very small issue on the Fog Dog so as long as it doesn’t get too back I’ll let it ride.
Could have went longer but I need to clear out my tent to sanitize and try and get rid of spider mites so I don’t have issues on future grows. So far the buds are hanging in a little ikea tent to dry with an oscillating fan blowing underneath. I had problems in past grows with buds drying to quickly so I chopped at the base and have hung the whole plant for now. Buds smell very fruity and still have a nice form and density
This plant surprised me and has really frosty buds. Majority are very small. Plant never really took on much of a smell and as it is hanging to dry the buds have lost its density.
