It was a difficult germination period this run with some unexpected results and delays. At least we hit our plant limit and will not have to clone out!
FYI with work and feed/watering times I try to accomplish this at lights on for everyone's reference.
01/22-We are germinating 2 Pre 98 Bubba Kush seeds from Papa Seed Co. and 2 Georgia Pie bag seeds. Using 50mL of water each to soak in. Depending on if tap root is showing or not, we will either switch to paper towel method or go directly into substrate. Also since Georgia Pie is bag seeds I have Og1Kenobi from Papa Seed Co. at the ready to germ to fill my plant count.
01/23-No tap roots yet. All seeds are still floating. We are switching to paper towel method. We will store them in a ziploc bag in a dark place at comfortable room temperature.
01/24-Both Pre 98 Bubba Kush(P9-1&2) have popped a tap root! Georgia Pie there is no action. Just incase I will germinate 2 Og1Kenobi from Papa Seed Co. as well. So I transplanted P91&2 into solo cups with a substrate of 70% Coco Coir and 30% Rice Hulls. Moved them into the tent under the light that is 24" away from the substrate and I adjusted the Light Intensity to 60%. Also set my AC Infintiy to auto mode of 25C Max and 70% Max to keep a proper environment. Spritzed P91&2 with 100mL of RO water. Then I put the 2 Og1Kenobi(OGK1&2) seeds to soak in 50Ml of water each.
01/25-Switching OKK1&2 to paper towel method. Still nothing from Georgia Pie seeds(GP1&2). P91&2 are showing a fuzzy taproot emerging. Spritzed 150mL RO water on them. Need to add a humidifier!
01/26-GP1&2 and OGK1&2 are still showing no sign of life! P91&2 both broke soil. Spritzed 100mL RO water on them!
01/27-Still nothing from GP1&2 and OGK1&2. Just in case I will attempt to germinate two more Og1Kenobi seeds(OGKB3&4). These will soak in 50mL of RO water until transferred to paper towel method. P91&2 both broke soil really well. P91 has spread and shown it's cotyledons while P92 is still trapped under it's husk. Spritzed 100mL of RO water on them until runoff as usual.
01/28-GP1&2 and OGK1&2 still in paper towels not germinating! Switched OGK3&4 to the paper towel method. OGK3 has sunk to the bottom of RO water while OGK4 was still floating. Tossed GP2 as it was starting to mold. P91&2 are about 4cm tall. I increased the light intensity to 70% and spritzed them with 90mL of RO water.
01/29-GP1 and OGK1,2,3,&4 show nothing. I have decided to germinate 2 Grape Ape seeds(GA1&2) also from Papa Seed Co. Put them to soak in RO water. The seed husk was still attached to P92 so while spritzing with the RO water I gently freed the cotyledons using tweezers. Spritzed 100mL.
01/30-Not checking on GP or OGK today! Switching GA1&2 to the paper towel method. My light timer was stuck in the always on position, got it fixed now. Spritzed P91&2 until runoff with 100mL of RO water. The weight of the spritz on the foliage of P91 made it lean all the way on it's side. So I lifted her up with a plant stake.
01/31-Checked on GP1 OGK1,2,3,&4 GA1&2 nothing :( I may have to clone the Pre 98 to fill out my plant max. P91 is standing on its own again without the aid of the plant stake. Fed 100mL of RO water.
02/01-GA2 popped! Transplanted to the solo cup with 70% Coco Coir and 30% Rice Hulls. Spritzed 75mL RO water on her. Spritzed P91&2 with 100mL RO an P91 is leaning again. So I rotated them under the light to try and correct this.
02/02-GA1 popped! Will not have to clone out to reach my limit because I was not going to germinate anymore after these! Transplanted immediately to solo cup and gave 75mL RO water. All 4 plants are under the light now. Propped up P91 again with a plant stake to prevent it from leaning. Spritzed GA2 and P91&2 with 50mL of RO water each.
I am using GHE Maxibloom Nutes which are dry in a bag and I add them to RO water. The option to add grams/gallon is not there so substitute the tsp=grams for this nutrient.
02/03-GA2 is emerging from it's husk. GA1 has a healthy tap root with a husk poking out the substrate. Gave 200mL/4 RO water.
02/04-Holding off on feeding P91&2 in order to give GA1&2 a chance to catch up. GA2 has sprouted and shown it's cotyledons, while GA1 breaks through soil and has and exposed root. Gave them all 200mL/4 RO water.
02/05-P91 still needs plant stake for support. Rotated all solo cups to promote good even growth. Gave 200mL/4 RO water.
02/06-Another water only day. I was debating feeding P91&2 with nutes, but did not! While spritzing I removed the husk from GA1 with tweezers. Gave 200mL RO water/4
02/07-Made this run's first batch(gallon) of nutes. Used 3.8L RO water, 2mL calmag, 0.7g GHE MB(maxibloom), and 20 drops PH up solution, for a PH-6.16 TDS-209 EC-418. Fed them all 200mL/4 of nutes. Spritzed GA1&2 and rotated GA1.
02/08-No read and feed today! Should have fed P91&2 sooner because of a deficiency spot on P91. Fed 200mL/4 of nutes.
02/09-Read premade Ph-6.38 TDS-224. P91 no longer needs a plant stake to stay up and her deficiency spot has grown larger. Made a foliar spar using 2mL calmag to 1L of RO water. My spray bottle only holds 650mL of spray so I dumped the rest into the premade nutes. PH-6.44 TDS-242 EC-484. Fed them 200mL/4 of the premade mixture and foliar fed them with the calmag spray. The foliar spray made P92 lean just slightly(will keep an eye on her). Also added a clip on fan for circulation.
02/10-PH is to high on the premade nutes. Made new batch(1/2 gallon). Used 1.9L of RO water, 1.5mL of calmag, 0.4g GHE MB, and 3 drops of PH up. PH-5.92 TDS- EC-502. P92 was leaning all the way on it's side so I supported her with a plant stake. Increased Light Intensity of the one light to 100%. Fed them 200mL/4 nutes!
02/11-No read and feed. Repositioned solo cups as I seen fit. P91 was starting to lean again so I supported her with a plant stake. GA2 started to lean as well. It is the mist from my foliar spray the water droplets are too heavy for the plants.
02/12- P91 and GA2 leaning as I opened tent. Stake them but tied P91 to the stake this time. Premade nutes PH-6.45. Fed them 200mL/4 did not foliar feed today. Also P92 looks really healthy!
02/13-Read and feed. PH-6.48, fed 200mL/4 premade nutes. Switched P91&2 positions and rotated GA1 to promote even growth. Foliar fed... Realized my light timer has been stuck in the always on position(Hopefully this didn't cause too much damage). :(
02/14-Made new batch of nutes(1/2 gallon). Used 1.9L of RO water, 1.5mL calmag, 0.65g GHE MB, and 3 drops of PH up. PH-5.71 TDS-297 EC-594. Fed them 200mL/4 of nutes with a foliar feeding. Rotated GA1&2. Plant Heights= P91-8cm P92-8.8cm GA1-5cm GA2-6cm. Made sure at lights out they were actually out and my timer is working as it should.(I feel the light issue is the reason there is a bit of wilting/tacoing of the leaves!)
02/15-No read and feed. Fed 200mL/4 of premade nutes. Foliar fed.
02/16-Read and feed. PH-6.28 fed 200mL premade and gave foliar spray. GA1 seems a little bit behind but it's ok. Repositioned and spaced them out under the light more appropriately.
02/17-Read and feed. PH-6.24 fed 200mL/4 premade and foliar spray. GA1&2 are showing phenotypical differences in their structure and growth pattern.
02/18-Read and feed. PH-6.25 fed 200mL/4 premade nutes. Removed the stakes and foliar fed, so structural growth has improved.
02/19-Read and feed. PH-6.20 fed 200mL/4 with foliar feed.
02/20-Read and feed. PH-6.24 fed 200mL/4 with foliar feed.
02/21-Made new batch of nutes(1/2gallon). Used 1.9L of RO water, 1.5mL calmag, 1g of GHE MB, and 6 drops of PH up solution. PH-5.58 TDS-361 EC-722. Fed them 300mL/4 nutes with a foliar feeding. Plant Heights= GA1-9cm GA2-8.5cm P91-12.5cm P92-10cm
02/22-No read and feed. Fed them 300mL/4 of premade nutes and gave a foliar feed as well. Wanted to transplant today but did not get the chance.
02/23-Transplant day! Transplanted the girls into 2 gallon fabric pots using 70% Coco Coir and 30% Rice Hulls. Installed a second clip on fan for air circulation. Also powered on the second light to 100% light intensity. Light height is 18" away from plant canopy. Removed the humidifier and made a new batch of nutes(1 gallon) to feed after transplanting. Used 3.8L of RO water, 3mL calmag, 2.5g GHE MB, and 15 drops PH up. Nutes-PH- 5.70 TDS-419 EC-838. Fed them 750 mL nutes each!
