After my 2 hindu kush rotted away in their small cups I decided to go straight to the big pot. Looking good so far.

I'm still looking for the best settings and distances, how much water to give and all that jazz. They're looking alright except for the tiny flies, which are slowly going for the traps I set up. Really hoping this one will take off.

They are looking good. No problems. The flies show up less and less. It looks like the plants are entering flowering phase. Let's hope they grow some more, this is a little laughable.

All startedd flowering now. All I can try doing now is spread the branches and give them as much light as possible. Who knows.. maybe some big buds will come?

I'll be adding some more nutrition to the water, as per advice. Monday: most advanced flowering plants are really sturdy. Showing signs of deficiency, yes. None too disturbing and I'm keeping close eye on development. Friday: deficiencies are very visible in the one blooming the hardest. I've adjusted the pH of the water, which turned out to be 7,9. I've just started using a meter for this. I overwatered them a little and added only a little bit of al-ga-mic. Apart from the obvious defs the plants are bouncy and seemingly content. Sunday: After some lst I found out the canopy got thicker than anticipated. The plants have calmed down quite a bit. More deep greens show up even in the ones that have been blooming for a while now. Here's hoping the plants stay friendly toward eachother.

Monday. More lst done. Not sure which of the tiny buds to remove. Perhaps I'll leave them to grow. Wednesday. Humidity stable at 30% Sunday. More yellowing. I'm very happy the plants are healthy otherwise, no awful bugs or diseases. I will keep the plants healthy as long as I can. I'm monitoring the most ripened cola's, I'm to make charas from them soon. Leaving the other plant to mature. Tips on how to handle root rot are very welcome.

Monday Deficiencies showing up more and more. Tomorrow I'm cutting down the two plants that have been in bloom for almost six weeks. Hopefully, the last one will recover. Tuesday I cut down the two, tried to make charas and I failed. The past few grows do not reap much joy. I am still aiming to get this stuff down. And let this one plant bloom a little longer. Perhaps in the end make some hash from it. Meanwhile the next seed (hindu kush) is germinating. Next lessons please. Thursday No weird things happening just yet.

Wednesday. It must have been stunted for a while after her buddies went away. Oh and they are revegging. As you can see, removing the other plants did not stop any deficiencies and I'm positive she is lacking space to get comfortable. Saturday I completely removed the other plants from the soil. Granted; root residue here and there. Hoping for a speedy recovery. If by the end of flowering I have something to smoke, that'd be great.

She keeps up, starting to see some purple coming in. Together with the brown spots on the yellowing leaves it makes for a gnarly picture.

Monday: After a couple of stressful weeks, this plant is still standing and the buds seem to fatten nicely. Granted, all the fan leaves are yellow, purple is settling in more and it loses leaves as I'm writing this. But considering all the work it went through I call this a win. Trichomes are forming more, the smell is getting interesting and the soil has no dank rotting at the places of the old roots found near where the other plants used to be. I'm riding this one out. Wednesday More cloudy trichomes and the pistils are turning red and brown. Sunday A trim was done. Now for the final days. Starting tomorrow this little girl get less feed and I will change the light schedule to 12/12 or less.

Happy Menage. Don't be surprised if one gets mad and tries to strangle the other 2. I've seen it with 2 girls in one pot. Mary Jane can be a really murderous bitch. The dominant plant found the tap root of the smaller one wrapped around it 5-6 times and strangled her sister. By harvest the dominant one was 5x as big. Curiosity demanded I inspect the root ball, it was actually pretty cool.

Think you should name them "3 girls&1 fighting pit". This is a breeding ground for massive swings in toxs/defs as all autos need different nutes. I see new growth is sucking the N from the lower growth cause it's not finding enough of it in the soil. Increase N and when you see stigma lower N and heavy feed them on p-k autos also need lots of the little things like MG, sulfur and lots of trace elements that come with any decent fert. But N-P-K still stands above all. N for growth P-K for flowering. And very heavy doses of cal. And to avoid root entanglement don't pour the nutes in the middle give each plant a pour point and you should be able to have some sort of control to better manage defs if one pops up it might not in the others by doing this. You will struggle to get it right though. And other ppl are right you are prob going to have runts and 1 Dom. You really would do better, and I cant believe I'm gonna say this, cause you shouldn't transplant autos, but if you want a decent harvest for your work and you would have much more room making 3 8-11 l pots. You'll have much more space. All the best, suit up, your gonna have a real battle on your hands, and if 1 Hermies and you don't catch it, well, you know what happens then and with the high stress they are gonna go thru and already have been through Hermies are a very high chance so keep an eye out for them little balls and if they start to have more then 2 there more than likely early pollen sacs, best of luck.

@Borgschuur, ahhh I see. Well then leave then where they are. Nah, don't pull the whole plant out. (Cause if roots are entangled you will cause possible death if you pull up 1 plant the other 2 might come up with it) Just cut the stem where it comes out of the ground, but if you plan on keeping some plants in the roots remaining will die off and if you don't have a nute that breaks down root rot and healthy roots wrapped around the dying ones left from the plant you take up might cause root issues. There's lots of cheap nutes out there to turn root rot into benifical nute uptake.

@BarneyRumble420, appreciated! Planning increased feed after the weekend. I'm very curious where this grow is going to take us.

Next grow try them in separate pots. 15L should do it. They really don't like touching each others roots. Same applies to outside grows. It all starts with a nice root system.

Do you remember getting those tin cylinder popcorn containers around the holidays with like 3 different flavored popcorns in them? One of them was usually a caramel. Maybe you could use the divider in one of those to help keep those ladies apart. Or next grow, you could even embed something like that in your soil to help keep the roots separated but still use one big pot. Just some random ideas.
Borgschuur
Borgschuurcommented3 years ago
@SlicedPimientos, Yes that could work very well! I think it's safe to say I don't really know what I'm doing. Some things you read online conflict with other things. I thought three plants in a pot would be worth the try, but then I didn't account for all the troubles it might bring. But hey, I'm learning and I love doing this stuff. And it's definitely too late to start and try the popcorn divider thing you mentioned, haha. Good looking out though! Next grow I'm growing 1 plant in 1 pot again. Maybe get a bigger space to grow.
