Happy Easter Everyone! Time for an update
During week 10
NEW LIGHT installed!! ViparSpectra XS2000. So excited! I think the plants are a little shocked from the change in light but hopefully they recover just fine.
This week 3 of the plants definitely started showing some issues I have never had before. I started noticing rust spots on the upper top leaves of the plants which I believe was the consequence of the following... A.Nutrient lockout B. Soil PH too low from over fertilization C. Soil PH being too low due to the peat moss in the growing medium. I have purchased dolomite lime as an organic alternative to properly balance soil PH for my next grow. I did do a light flush with PHd water at 6.5.
Plan for week 11
Going to be adding some Calcium to the soil during next watering to see if that helps new growth on the plants (Tuesday)
At this point I will be just keeping an eye on more rust spots forming on the leaves. I have backed off on adding more P & PK at this time because I think I over fertilized last time.
I am learning a lot still with every week of this grow. I know now how to dial in the nutrients and better amending soil first. Since my soil has peat moss I think that had a lot to do with the acidity as it breaks down. Really hoping these girls continue to finish out okay! Thinking that they will take the full 14/15 weeks at this point.
Good job on the girls with the organics! I'm dying to give it a try but it makes me nervous.. I'm used to feeding right when they need it.. and not being able to check runoff will trigger an OCD episode for me.. jk.. but yeah.. you are doing a great job here.. they look happy and healthy.. couldn't ask them for more at this point. Thanks for checkin out my little 9oz cup grow I did with this strain. Very strong, determined genetics.. they will make it to harvest damnnear no matter what lol.. sorry for finger fucking my keyboard in your comment section.. just a little stoned lol but again.. good job!!!
@Professor_Chaos, thank you! This is my first fully organic grow and its going better than expected honestly. These genetics definitely bring out some hardy plants. Best of luck with all your future grows!
@@@Waylate,
I cloned a top that was chopped once.. the clone didnt get big at all but it was perfect for feminizing some beans. It was even 1-2 weeks behind the mother that was topped. Sprouted as a triploid.. 3 branches each node.. I'll take it!!! Gonna try and use this method to self some autos.. and make some fast version beans
@Professor_Chaos, I have done some internet research on that very topic. I let 2 of the 5 plants grow without topping and so far the buds seem to be the same size. I am going to do a yield comparison between the plants at harvest
