Even though I germinated this seed five days after its growing companions, the seedling already shows more vigor and growth than the other seedlings! I keep the seedling with 12 hours of indoor light and 9 hours of sun in February. Yesterday, I added some sifted mulch to the substrate and on top, some dry organic matter to retain moisture and promote microbiology propagation. This genetic has been cultivated at over 1000 meters altitude, making it strong and resistant to extreme conditions. Two days ago, I transplanted it into the final pot, an old-school 11L pot. The seedling was growing very slowly; I think I won’t use paper cups to germinate seeds again, this is the second time I’ve had problems. You can already see growth; I transplanted the small root ball very moist and today I did the first deep watering with 1L of water, honey (enzymes, minerals, and sugars...) and Activated Mountain Microorganisms (MMA) in basic form, which is the product I have with the highest concentration of microbiology. The intention is to do a massive inoculation in the substrate so that the MMA spread throughout the substrate and start working on the decomposition and mineralization of organic matter, as well as dissolving the minerals present in the substrate mix!! The mix for these substrates is the same as I’ve been using for the last two growing seasons: 6 parts of 3 types of commercial soil. 1 part of worm humus 1 part of seaweed bokashi 1/3 part of aged goat and sheep manure 1/4 part of river sand 1 part of coconut fiber 1 part of perlite 1/3 part of vermiculite 1/4 part of Zeolite 2g/liter of phosphoric rock soil 3g/liter of ground Leonardite soil 1/4 part of Biochar activated with Mountain Microorganisms (MM) - Other micronized minerals at a rate of 1g/liter of soil: White and green Montmorillonite, red Illite, Azomite, Kaolin, Basalt, Pumice stone, Wood ash, Diatomite, and Dolomite. On the surface of the substrate, I added a layer of sifted mulch, taken from my mulch reserves, rescued from other crops. Then I covered it with a thin layer of soil and dry matter reused as mulch. As the substrate settles in the pot, I will add more dry matter to the mulch to increase the current thickness... lots of food for my dear microbes!! The last few days have been sunny; I hope they continue. I keep the seedling indoors for 12 hours and outside for 8 more! And that’s all for now... A week since transplanting and still with the initial moisture from the first watering, the seedling is growing slowly but steadily; I think it’s comfortable in its large pot... the grows this season have been an immeasurable exercise in patience so far, which I endure by smoking a lot of joints, and mainly because I believe that every plant can be a great plant, no matter how many difficulties it faces at the beginning of its life... marijuana grows are not about how they start, but how they end! From today, when I take the pot outside after 12 hours of indoor light, and due to the cloudy days, I’ve added an extra LED panel, 7700K and 36w consumption to boost growth. Also, two days ago I prepared a gentle mix (EC: 0.6) with amino acids and lacto auxins for foliar applications; little by little the seedling is reacting... long live life!!😋🌥️🌞😍 And that’s all for now... So far, a boring grow, the seedling is growing slowly, although it shows a good tendency to compact, the days are spring-like and I’m taking advantage of the sunlight as much as I can. Last week I went to do an apical cut and couldn't, the shoot wasn't sticking out and was rounded, I thought it might be a mutation... but no!! This week I've seen the typical growth after a FIM cut, with the leaves nibbled, etc. I also saw my dog eating the tips of some leaves, so I've deduced that my dog did the FIM pruning... thanks for the help Popy!! The seedling is progressing, water consumption is low, two days ago I started with foliar applications of amino acids and lacto-fermented auxins and minerals, the seedling's response has been immediate, I do two applications daily and will continue until it forms more leaves and starts increasing water consumption, meanwhile, the seedling is happily living between the grow tent and soaking up the sun from the windows. Currently, I’m growing 4 plants in a single grow tent, with one tall and large plant in flowering, what I'm doing is raising this pot and the other two, which are similar in size, to bring the seedlings closer to the light canopy, which I have at high intensity, I hope this helps to compact these young crops. Good growth week, I ended up doing a real apical cut and the plant is appreciating it; I’ve tied some branches to start shaping the plant. Impressive the appearance of white roots at the bottom of the pot, good sign! Today I did the third deep watering since transplanting to the pot, a mix of several of my preparations, one of which I’m using for the first time today after 10 months in anaerobic fermentation, a Bio ferment of Activated Mountain Microorganisms (MMA) with 4 types of seaweed, Azomite, and Chitosan, a good bio-stimulant for any crop! The plant is starting to ask for more water and that makes me happy; it’s going to be a great crop, the summer days are helping. During this time, I keep the plant in the grow tent for 9 hours and the rest of the day, about 10 hours, in the spring sun! For me, every effort with my crops is pleasurable, and if I can also save electricity without losing production, I’m willing to move my pots as many times as necessary!! Winter week, with dark and cold days, but this strain doesn't mind because its genes have known worse days! I've started tying down the branches to shape the plant; so far, the grow is responding well, it's growing and strengthening, the leaves are wide and short, typical of some indicas... I think it's going to be a very beautiful and productive plant. During the hours I keep this plant outdoors, I'm supporting it with artificial light due to the cloudy days, adding a 36w LED panel and blue diodes at 450nm, a very special spectrum for vegetative growth, as it promotes branch strength, leaf expansion, and compactness. Sunny days have returned, and the plant appreciates being in the sun half the time. ☀️💡 There has been a noticeable strengthening throughout the plant; the branches, bent with ties, are growing sideways and their buds are bending towards the light, these in a position of praise are vying for their place in the canopy, the compactness the plant shows is remarkable... all good! 😋 So far, water consumption has been low for my taste, the watering days are spaced out a lot. I have joyfully seen the impressive roots coming out from the base of the pot, but I’m worried about the upper half of the substrate because when the waterings are spaced out too much, the water tends to sink and evaporate first from the surface of the substrate. I already noticed in my previous grow with this pot that root creation from the first centimeter of substrate wasn’t as I expected; it lacked moisture on the surface despite the mulch layer. Now that I see this grow going the same way as the last one, I’m going to spray water on the mulch daily to maintain surface moisture, which will also help with the propagation and existence of aerobic microorganisms that feed on the dry matter of the mulch. I have also been supporting the growth of the crop with daily foliar applications based on amino acids and lacto-ferments; the response is almost immediate. 🙋‍♂️👨‍🌾 I wish these plants were perennial; it saddens me to switch them to flowering, but I will have to do it soon. Although I will wait at least another week, as I have made significant changes in my grow tents, I can even afford to extend the vegetative growth time... I’ve had up to 5 small grow tents simultaneously; those were times of cheap electricity and my exaggerated enthusiasm as a novice grower. Today I only have one. This week I received a new grow tent measuring 60x120x178cm from Secret Jardin, and I disassembled the last two tents I had left, one of 60x60x140cm and another of 70x70x160cm, because I’m going to focus all my effort and my best lights in the new space. I can have simultaneous crops of plants in vegetative growth and others in flowering, especially at this time of year, where I take the plants in vegetative growth out to the windows after 12 hours of indoor light, and those in flowering stay sleeping inside the tent during the light period. The different lamps provide varied lumens and color spectra to the whole set of plants. I want to add many lights because it’s the ideal way to get thick and hard buds and also produces a lot of compactness in the vegetative growth stage. I think I will be able to grow 6 plants in 11l pots or 8 plants in 7l pots. Since I have increased the height of the tent, I will also be able to let some plants grow taller, especially the sativas that I like so much. Until next week... It’s mainly an indica plant, with an unknown initial strain, that flowers early in 50 to 55 days. This genetic has been cultivated at over 1000 meters altitude, making it strong and resistant to extreme conditions. The last week of vegetative growth has concluded, the plant is bursting with health, water consumption has tripled, and today I start the switch to flowering schedule for this crop and another: Kritikal Bilbo. This time I’m going to do a comparison between these two strains to see which one starts flowering first; for this strain, starting today, a strict 12/12h schedule. Normally, I’m not strict about this and usually grow until the end with a 13/11h schedule, but when it starts flowering, I can bump the schedule to 13/11h. In the case of Kritikal Bilbo, today it also begins its transition to flowering, but unlike Alpujarreña, it will be in the dark for 36h and then on a strict 12/12h schedule until it starts to bloom. This time I’m not going to use the IR 730nm bulb to supposedly trick the plant into thinking 12h of darkness is 14h; I’ve used this technique in the last two growing seasons and haven’t noticed anything at all, so this time I’m skipping all the hassle of that technique and trying the 36h of darkness. This week, a deep watering with my lacto-fermented nutrients and minerals with Efficient Microorganisms (EM). I’m a proponent of not overloading with too many nutrients during the transition from vegetative growth to flowering; at that moment, the hormonal change in the plant is significant, and I don’t want to hinder it. The most I’ll do during these 2-3 weeks of transition is gentle waterings with Bio stimulants. For that, I have several formulas, for example: Mountain Microorganisms (MM) with pumpkin, carrot, and minerals, nettle tea, Mountain Microorganisms (MM) with 3 types of algae and Azomite, or enzymatic hydrolyzed animal protein (Amino acids), among others. For me, it’s very important to provide the plant with the greatest variety of sources of organic and mineral nutrients; this biodiversity is perfectly managed by the substrate microbiology in perfect symbiosis with the root system, and finally showing an aerial part where the animated minerals shape our plants. I’ve made the last addition of specific dry amendments for vegetative growth (dried blood, Epsom salt, fish meal, and cottonseed powder)... tasty organic components to keep the substrate microbiology very happy and active. First week since switching to a strict 12/12h schedule, no signs of flowers yet, however, the branches are growing and strengthening, preparing to hold big buds, the plant is bursting with health! Its small, wide leaves give it a robust yet delicate appearance. Week of clouds and rain, the plant hasn't seen sunlight, I’m keeping the grow indoors, waiting for the weather to improve and some rays of sun to come in! On the flip side, I’m maintaining high brightness in the grow tent, this season I want thick and dense buds!! It’s a primarily indica plant, with an unknown initial strain, that has an early flowering period of 50 to 55 days. This genetic variety has been grown at over 1000 meters above sea level, making it strong and resistant to extreme conditions. It's the second week since switching to a 12/12h schedule, and the floral buds have appeared everywhere; the pre-flower is cruising along, the plant is growing while maintaining great compactness. The look of this plant is fantastic and sexy! The quick transition to the flowering stage has been a good lesson for me, as I had been flowering my plants for two years with a minimum schedule of 13/11, sometimes 14/10. In those cases, I applied a technique of illuminating the plants with IR 730nm, from half an hour before turning off the lights until half an hour after, and I never managed to get the pre-flower to appear before 3 weeks. I was, and still am, determined to grow in flowering with more than 12 hours of light, so with these crops, I’m going to increase at least an hour of light once they enter full flowering. That's a 10% increase in light that shows at the end, and the plants are not at risk of reverting to vegetative growth; I've tested this in all my crops so far. This week, I did two light waterings with Activated Mountain Microorganisms (MMA) in liquid form with nutrients or minerals... preparing the root system and substrate for the intensive nutrition I’m going to give them during flowering. I keep in mind that this strain has, according to the producer, a short flowering period of 50 to 55 days, so if I want maximum yield, I have to start this week with more concentrated and specific waterings for flowering. Third week since the switch to 12/12h, now the plant is in the sun and smiling, I enjoy it as much as she does!! 😁🌞 The floral buds, immaculate and numerous, form a leveled and brutal canopy! The density of this strain is extraordinary, it’s going to be a beast!! The plant has stretched a bit, keeping pace with the vigorous floral buds!! 🌸🌸🌸 The large leaf mass shows enviable health... a strain accustomed, outdoors, to worse growing conditions, reacts voluptuously when given good housing, food, and light!! 🏠🌞💡💧🥗 This week several actions, light defoliation of lower leaves, two foliar applications with Horsetail to prevent the appearance of fungi, as the relative humidity in the grow tent increases a lot when the plants sleep. Two deep waterings, the first with a high concentration of PK, from various sources, humic acids, and MMA, the second with pure alkaline spring water (pH: 8, EC: 0.4), I took advantage of this watering to add dry amendments and mulch. The pH of this water helps dissolve nutrients in the substrate, thus lightening the EC load of the substrate, looking ahead to the nutrient waterings I will be applying until the end of this grow. The sunny days this week allow me to take the plant out in the sun for 3 hours, three hours less of artificial light, in exchange for the fantastic solar spectrum, full of energy and warmth... I've started experimenting with this and other crops, a significant increase in EC load in my flowering irrigation mixes, I've always been cautious with this and almost never went over EC 1.8, but I have new formulas where, among other things, I've achieved great phosphorus solubility, whether using organic or inorganic sources, this was a pending issue for me. 🤷‍♂️ The development of the flower buds is impressive, seeing them in the sun is a spectacle, in the end, they will come together, the buds, with each other along the branches, and they will be monstrous buds, all thanks to the genetics and the extreme compactness, the plant has responded very well to the high light intensity I have this season, I'm currently growing this strain with a VP P1000 lamp, I have it just above no more than 10cm, just for this plant, also two weeks ago I added a 2800K COB with a 90° lens to this plant. It’s primarily an indica plant, with an unknown initial strain, that flowers early in 50 to 55 days. This genetic variety has been cultivated at over 1000 meters above sea level, making it strong and resistant to extreme conditions. Fifth week of flowering, the grower claims it will be ready for harvest in 55 days, but as usual, my grows always take a bit longer, so I'm practically halfway through flowering and the plant looks amazing, with flowers constantly growing, a great leaf mass that the plant is purging from the inside, in an exercise of self-defoliation and survival. The largest leaves from the inside of the plant have given up their nutrients and are falling to the ground on their own, allowing more rays of light to reach the buds. In the last few weeks, I've had signs of mold on the leaves due to the rise in relative humidity in the grow tent during the dark period. I've treated the plants with alternating foliar applications of horsetail and 2.5% hydrogen peroxide, and I've increased the ventilation in the tent; so far, everything is under control! Well, given the growth and response of this plant, I'm going to continue feeding it as it deserves; it’s a glutton and loves all my mixes... let the party continue! 💪😁 Week of very cloudy days, and it seems they will continue. Sixth week of flowering, the plant is inexorably advancing towards the zenith of its glory, the spectacular canopy of buds forms a crown worthy of a Marijuana Queen! 👑 Day by day, the fattening of the enormous colas is noticeable, at least 3 weeks remain until harvest, so I expect monstrous floral development. The aromas have skyrocketed this week, bringing me scents of forest soil and wild lime! The uniformity of the canopy and the height of the plant allows for great light efficiency; it’s been a cloudy week, except for today, the plant hasn’t left the grow tent, 13 hours of intense light... today, it’s been two hours in the sun and it’s smiling happily! I continue to feed the plant with every watering, this week 3 deep waterings with a variety of Bio preparations that provide the plant with macro and micronutrients from various organic and inorganic sources. This week I debuted a multi-mineral Bio ferment (Bio Si EM), where I chelated several micronized minerals (Rhassoul Clay, Zeolite, Pumice Stone, Red Illite, and Diatomite), all rich, mainly, in Silica. For the chelation, I use Mountain Microorganism Inoculants (MM), Lactic Acid Bacteria (LAB), and Fermented Grass (my new source of Enzymes and Microorganisms), in a complex process of 3 phases and 3 months of preparation. This preparation is designed to be used once a week throughout the grow; Silica has several functions, it hardens and gives elasticity to all the plant's cells, stem, leaves, and branches, producing branches capable of supporting huge buds without supports. Additionally, the hardness of the cells makes it a bit more difficult for mining insects and other pests, and if that weren’t enough, it helps with the formation of trichomes! Moreover, the preparation provides several essential micronutrients present in the minerals and a lot of Microbiology to colonize the substrate! The buds are the stars, taking over the scene, while the leaf mass loses vigor, but it’s still doing its job. The plant is slowly devouring unnecessary leaves, for the greater glory of the beautiful buds that crown this happy strain! The house, the food, the environment, the music, the love, and the company help this old friend on her final journey towards her destination, which is to fill my marijuana stash, which is at critical levels. However, as I save the best buds for last, these cloudy and melancholic days are balanced out with delicious well-cured sativa joints! Eighth week of flowering, the journey is coming to an end, this is a serious strain that is going to meet the flowering time. Three or four more waterings and I’ll harvest, the buds are still fattening and there are many young trichomes, watering every 2 days and with each watering, in addition to PK, I’ve given it some bio-stimulants, like seaweed, fruits, or amino acids, extra energy to help it produce!
