This grow started off being very difficult. I popped 4 evere5t seeds and lost one almost immediately. The 3 other were doing well until they were attacked by spider mites which really slowed their growth. They're now much happier but bruised and still unsexed! Regardless, I wanted to try something different I switched from using pots to a 2x2x1 canvas raised bed and filled it with promix HP and mixed in my nutrients. It's 66L of soil I added 4 cups of GaiaGreen All-purpose along with 1 cup of SuperFly Insect Frass, 2 cups of worm castings and 1 cup of Glacial rock dust. mixed in thoroughly and the soil was then watered before transplanting my 3 seedlings into it. I have the remaining 1x2 space for my humidifier and fan controls. Lights are is sitting ~16" above the canopy and the light is dimmed to 50%. I'm hoping to get some good quality indica in my life through this plant.
Wish me luck, it's been a rough ride so far!
The risk you have with running regular seeds is that you might get males. Well this is a first for me. Alle plants turned out to be male. I've taken the opportunity to clone them before I start over. I'll keep a clone since I like the busyness of this plant along with its short stature. I was thinking I could start breeding later but for now I'll keep a male clone around, order more of the same seeds and hope for a higher female count next time.
Amazing how well they've recovered in the last 4 weeks. I got blumats to keep the soil moist to make the microbes happy and to help with watering maintenance. I now fill up a jug once a week and that's all. I may let them go a couple more weeks before flipping. I haven't sexed them yet and want to get clones of each plant(even if male) and then let them go. Hoping for 2/3 of them being female. A little more LST and I can fill the 2x2 space with ease.
Admittedly, this is going to take longer than I wanted but I think that's been the theme of this entire grow. At least now it's because I want to take more time. That start was rough but I'm so impressed how the environment's turned it around for them.
Let's get it!
