Trying Aquaponic Cloning --
I was sitting here looking at the fish tank that needs cleaned tomorrow. I'll strain the fish poo keep it for nutrients & use the water for a tea. Got me thinking heyyyy it would seem that it has the perfect conditions for hydroponic cloning 🤔
Grow light, the water has nutrients, beneficial bacteria, oxygen, CO² (from fish breathing) & temperature is maintained at 75⁰. Seems like it would work - my two thoughts of why it might not work is possible ammonia in the water &/or the light being too close bleaching the leaves.
Hmm test run. If they root... before they get taller I will take them to the hydroponic cloner so they won't get light burn.
They weren't receiving enough light from the aquarium light -- it's not meant for plants just for lighting for the fish. I transferred them into my smaller bubble cloner and then back and forth between the grow tent & window for lighting.
(These were male cones that I took just to test out my bubble cloners and different methods - I never planned on doing a full run just wanted to just do test runs then discard)
