These are the genetic crosses I'm currently preparing to make.
Wondering if you guys think these strain names are ones you would like or not?
I enjoy brainstorming strain names... I'm a canna-nerd you might say😁
I will continue to make genetic crosses & new strains twice yearly so new names would be greatly appreciated👍
2/25/22: Yesterday I pollinated all females with 5 different strains of male pollen. 4/5 are showing browning on the tips of the stigma - which indicates it has been successfully pollinated. I don't see the Velvet Jack pollinated stigma changing yet - I may have to hit her with more of his pollen.
Note - much of the white powder you are seeing is baking flour, it's used to preserve pollen & stretch it's use further.
*The process I used was placing all plants in separate rooms throughout the house in front of a window for light. Turned off all airflow inside the house; furnace, air purifiers any fans, held my breath while brushing pollen on the bud itself & stayed away from them for 2 hours after pollinating.
I chose the outermost buds, labeled the branch with different colored painter's tape with the strain/seed name wrote on it. I chose the outermost buds to create the least amount of unplanned seeds with hopefully less pollen spill over.
Pollinated with the same male pollen on every plant making my rounds one at a time to not cross contaminate. (Using different brushes to apply, spraying my gloved hands down with alcohol between each different strain of pollen). Then immediately draping with my homemade 'bags'. (The bags - a piece of clear painters drop cloth draped over the top). Let them sit for 2 hours staying far away to not walk by to create wind.
I carefully lifted the bags one at a time & used a blow dryer on cool setting blowing the excess pollen outward away from the plant reducing the chance of extra floating pollen when they go back into the grow room.
I left all airflow off overnight after placing all the girls back into the grow room.*
I know I will have a handful of random unknown father seeds - but I took all the precautions & used what I had to reduce it as much as possible.
real cool project u have there mate i got myself almost fetched the entire stock of OldSchool Reg seeds from Mr.nice to do some breeding in the future to smoke my own breeds😁
@JaramnieJazz, they're attaching rules & regulations on something that shouldn't have them just for their control & profit. It's very frustrating & saddening.
Thankfully we can grow & enjoy to relieve the stress 😁
@JaramnieJazz, that's awesome! I hope you get the phenos you are looking for right away.
It would be great to have a community that would trade seeds with other growers/breeders. We could all make some fun collaborations & strains.
I have extra regular seeds of the strain I created... I'm working on both reg & fem seeds currently...
Very nice cheetah, you've come up with many new strains with more to follow! 😎 I just made some colloidal silver last night to start spraying a Blueberry plant that I have growing in a spare room. 🙏
@GYOweed, thank you so much!
I take clones from the mother. Pick the best 2. Force female pollen on 1 (in another area) then pollinate the second female clone with the forced female pollen from the first plant.
