Germinated in paper towel and transferred to earthbox jr. This is a reuse of an earthbox that hosted the Kosher Kush which was harvested on 12/20. Added water and innoculated with EM-1, and the Beauveria Bassiana. Seed came up where I placed a tear in the mulch cover and seems to be very happy.
Placed in veg tent with MH FC E 3000 LED light. Also moved humidifier as also use the tent as a lung room with a booster fan that bridges the two tents. Plant healthy and starting to take off.
An uneventful week and a lot of growth experienced, not just with height but with side branching as I topped the plant this week. This plant is in an earthbox junior with living soil that was used for a plant harvested in February. It needed some nitrogen before flower and I added some Karanja Cake. It appears between the ample water of the SIP and the nitrogen left behind, I have some leaf curling going on. I also noticed that the earthbox is almost empty and will wait a few days before refilling to allow the media to dry out slightly. I defoliated the plant pretty completely, removing any side branching at the bottom stalk and to open the plant up to allow the side branching the benefit of light and air.
Not much to mention. Noticed that this pheno is mostly claw like leaves, very fibrous with huge stems. Soil is a re-use of a past grow. May have a little too much karanja cake from last grow? Topped last week and lightly defoliated.
I'm back with this plant as I had anaerobic conditions in the earthbox that was causing the leaves to claw and woodiness to the stems. After dumping out the water and allowing the earthbox to dry, the plant rebounded in a couple weeks. I kept the plant in Veg until 5/22 when the previous harvest had dried to allow the tent for Flowering. The plant kept its basic structure and buds are bulking up. The smell is incredible and the buds are dense. I believe this poor plant that had to wait will really surprise me in the way it smokes and tastes! Added a top dress of Build A Soil Craft Blend and Flower Top Dress 1 week after placing into flower. I also provided a top watering of compost tea and using EM-1 (one ounce to a gallon of water) that I fermented last week. This plant is scrogged at time of placing into flower.
Uneventful week. This is the stinkiest plant I ever grew! Plant takes a gallon of rainwater every two days from the reservoir. Buds keep getting bigger! Trichome development progressing nicely. Buds are dense. All systems go!
Last week as I will be harvesting tomorrow. These finished early and the reason was the extreme topping she received right before putting into flower due to timing with the tents. She and another Grandpa's Stash I had as backup are both ready as they both were treated the same. Will provide weight after harvest tomorrow. She is small but stinky!
Wedding Cake is delicious, cakey sweetness combined with some peppery, earthy tones. The effects land almost instantly upon inhaling. The inhale is smooth, and the exhale is even smoother (and sweeter). The sativa in it is detectable because of how uplifting the effects are. Also, because of Wedding Cake's Girl Scout Cookies background, it chills and relaxes me until I feel at peace with the world.
More to come with dry trim weight as I do not weigh bud when wet preferring to touch the bud minimally and allow to hang and dry. 7-10 days should allow drying. This plant really was pungent.
