7 days post-cut and already got transplantable roots on half of em🤩🤩🤩. The mothers for these clones are busy getting impregnated (see other diary) and these cuts were taken after about 1 week of transition. In doing so we cost ourselves having to reveg. A couple extra weeks but couldn’t be helped and will totally be worth it. By the numbers we’ve got 3 each of both sativa and indica dominant traits and anxious to see how many different phenos we may pull. We’ll be moving these girls over to the newly renovated dutch bucket table tomorrow. More work to get this run off it’s feet but once it’s done - sit back and watch em grow👍👌👍. Background This cycle of clones represents all the potential of this F1 line of WalkerBerry OG. Bred by myself over the last couple of years. This genetic shows excellent hybrid vigour, incredibly stable nutrition requirements to date and an eclectic mix of long and short internodal spacing bu specimen. We know we have indica and sativa dominant traits spread evenly across the 6 available clones. Now it’s just a matter of seeing them run out under controlled and pollen free conditions. We’ve labelled each plant and it’s resulting seed accordingly. Once we get to the F2 run, we’ll hopefully be able to isolate down to 2-3 phenos if the bud is any good. From there, who knows. It’d be great to get to a finished, stable generation that would be fem worthy but that could be a very long way off. For now - we’ll focus on this line and see where it goes🤞🤞.

Off to the races after the first week of veg. And the girls are looking good. They had about 24-48 hours of transplant shock but have since turned over and look perky. They never fully transitioned and all of em look like they’re turning back around. Definitely starting to see some pheno variation on one of the indicas (F6) - trademark from the Skywalker 100%. A light bluish/purpleish hue on the fan leaves. We’ll see what happens over the next week then probably just pick a day and flip. We don’t need em huge - just big enough to show off dem buds. On the hardware side of this grow, the mods to the dutchy system look to be working well. It just makes plant management easier with a full trough drain as opposed to individual drainage holes. Really, the system isn’t a concern for the most part. It’s proven time and time again how manageable a recirc system can truly be. Scaling down to smaller pots and more plants has also been a revelation of sorts around here. We used to grow monsters and now the aim is strictly proportional yields across a wider array of genetics. Been a great trip so far🤟. Couple more boring weeks of veg. And as soon as the breeding tent is cleaned up and pollen free - it’s go for blast-off👍. Background This cycle of clones represents all the potential of this F1 line of WalkerBerry OG. Week 2 of veg. In the books and if was only half the week. We flipped to flower a few days ago now and they’ve all started the stretch in earnest. #2 was pistoling heavy during the rooting stage and appears to have caught some pollen prior to reveg. Not sure how that’s gonna translate later on to be honest. #1 is still stretchy as hell and probably gonna need a supercrop at some point soon. They’re all growing with renewed vigour now and we’re well positioned for a great flower cycle. Interesting to see how quickly they develop over the next week in comparison to their parents. Other than that - alls well and somewhat boring with this grow. Exactly the way we like it👌. Background This cycle of clones represents all the potential of this F1 line of WalkerBerry OG. Enter week 1 of full flower and the stretch is on hard. Heights on 3 of the 6 have been an issue but not a surprise either. While the purpose of this cycle was to grow quality nugs and we’ll still get there, I’m disappointed in the stretch with these due to the reveg. There are definite signs in the leaves that it was more pronounced than I thought and as a result these branched really spindly and really leggy. It wasn’t until after a massive defoliation that it became so obvious. Is what it is and we knew we weren’t winning the yield award at any time but, still, gotta be critical about something😉. Other than that, they’re on the way now. Alls just waitn and watch’n. Background This cycle of clones represents all the potential of this F1 line of WalkerBerry OG. Through week 2 of the stretch and it’s a bloody mess of super crops with about 8”of headroom to the lights.😂. Bit of a disaster definitely suggests a need to lower the table height slightly. My own errogance wins again. I know better than not to top or fim under these conditions, just figured we’d get better control on an extremely short veg. Cycle. Wayyy off there lol. Still another stretch week to go which means they’ll be more cropping to follow with it as well. Is what it is and we’ll have to make due. No issues with the plants whatsoever yet👍. End of the third week of transition and the hot mess is rounding out nicely👌. We’ve got an extra pots worth of space freed up so we spread em out a little and tied the super tops back down again. Probably for the last time as we wait for em to bulk up through mid flower. Per the video - we kept as much foliage as we could and we’ll move to straight maintenance and pruning from here on out. What’s interesting is that every single one of these clones is perfectly healthy. This is in stark contrast to the mothers growing out seed in the tent next door. Half of those are showing deficiencies of some kind. A telling comparative between to different hydro methods. Coco is an imperfect method imo and every plant always seems to react a little differently. Dutchies, well…. They speak for themselves😉👌. I expect yield will be much heavier on this run than originally anticipated. This is the way👍. Background This cycle of clones represents all the potential of this F1 line of WalkerBerry OG. Through a full 3 weeks of stretch plus another of early flower and the cotton balls are swelling out like mad. The clones are all doing incredibly well - far better than their coco mothers in almost all respects. Growth has exploded in this system and as a result - severely challenged our height restrictions. It’s cause us to look closer at potential ways to shrink down the table and res as a means by which to pick up a little more headroom. Although this strain is a bit of an exception to the typical growth size we can expect under these conditions, it’ll be worth it to make the space a little more accommodating to larger plants in the future. We’re not 8” from the lights and despite repositioning the fans were getting localized light burn to some of the fan leaves and that’s a problem this early in flower. We can expect to torch a few over the next weeks 100%. Short of pulling the canopy down a little further there’s not much we can do about this right now except roll with the punches. If it gets really bad we might have to pull the plants out and make some adjustments now. We’ll see where that goes this week. Other than that - the only other we can say right now is that our yield will be significantly higher than expected, planned for, or even necessary. We just wanted a couple of single colas to gauge bud structure of these F1’s. The clones had other ideas and it’s now a thick bed of huge stalk buds that are all expected to chunk out heavy🤩. Happy for the extra produce regardless. Let’s just pray we don’t scrap half of it due to light burn issues😬🤞. Week 5 of flower update and this was not a good week at all. The light burn got progressively worse over a 4 day stretch that I was away and couldn’t address it earlier. Torched a few tops pretty good. Likely salvageable but it wont be a pretty finish. The only good news about this is that my 2 100% keeper plants were either unaffected or only minorly. Went full beast mode and ripped apart the whole system just to cut 2” off the legs, clean, prune and then reinstall everything. We’re also gonna swap the cob light with an xs2000 and sf1000 combo. Same power but room for clearance error. If we’re lucky - we still get to the finish with some quality smoke and an initial sampling of this new F1. Jesus - my issues never seem to end these days….

Through 6 weeks of flower and this week was all about sticking and moving. We battled a serious headroom and light burn issue last week. That necessitated a slight lowering of the table by 2” (a lot damn harder than it sounds mid-grow) as well as changing out the 300w cob with a couple of qbs. The plants have all actually responded quite well to the change since but the damage is also significant. Our 2 most undesirable got torched on the tops real bad. They look like they’ll make it but it’s some ghastly damage for sure. Thankfully our absolute best sativa Dom. In plant #3 was generally unaffected while our best indica Dom in #6 got hit with it, but not nearly to the same extent as the larger ones. A little note on the system this week. It’s Achilles heel has always been it’s scale and the delicate nature required for a space this size. The pots, despite multiple different attempts simply can’t support the pressure of the medium and the expanding root mass and the seals inevitably leak. No good option or fix here. I’ll get through the grow but lately I’ve realized that we gotta fully rejigg the system - likely to a different method entirely. Sucks but is what it is. Alls good following disaster otherwise… as usual lol

Week 8 of flower and was hoping we’d be seeing the opening of the harvest window. That’s just not the case here. The light stress may have pushed back flowering significantly. A couple of them have rolled over with a deep purple hue in the leaves and show signs of ripeness. This isn’t necessarily a good thing as the buds are rather light and airy, even for the lower yield expectations of a short veg. Clone. We’re really hoping they bulk up a lot more over the next couple of weeks. But the terp. Profile is excellent - very sweet and fruity. The trich production on what’s there is also stellar too - a very positive sign for when we can do this strain right with the F2s. All in all - Lookn forward to being finished with these and taking Finally taking a first sample of the finished product. We’ve been cutting back nute top offs to plain water lately. Alternating a clean water vs. Feed ratio to help offset tds increases. No issues with the plants or feed - just regular maintenance in late flower. The whole grow system may need a rethink too. We’ll probably roll with it for the next cycle despite some of the technical issues but it just won’t last. Scale and durability have been pushed to the limit and there’s just no escaping the fact that we’ve hit the very limits of our space’ abilities here. Is what it is and certainly no regrets👍.

9th week of flower and this was the week where the harvest window finally opened and all the plants began packing on significant amounts of bulk and density. The purpling has also graduated to a full deep hue with new pink tones in the vein lines. Despite the light burn there will still be produce to smoke but the results are entirely in limbo and subjective until we do the grow right on the next round of testing. Still think they got another week in em which will be a full ten in flower. Let’s just hope they aren’t too stressed by the extension🤞. Oh what these clones could’ve been…

A full 10 weeks of flower and these girls are now, finally done. It was as I feared and the 2 furthest along had began to hermie out. A plant can only be subjected to this kinda stress so long - eventually it’s gonna start doing some thing weird. Either way, we got those chopped down and the rest will follow shortly. We won’t be winning any awards with this grow but there’s still enough of a sample size to tell us if it’s worth growing again. Final harvest report to follow🤟
