The Mandarin Haze was one hell of a producer. This plant had actually been damaged on two separate occasions while trying to manifold the base. Both times I completely ripped off one of the main arms. The plant that grew out of my mistakes only yielded me 15.3 oz’s. I most certainly plan on running a full garden of this strain in the future. there was also zero larf on this one as all the buds were nice sized golf balls. Highly recommend this plant. The smell is not too strong at all, but I am hoping that it develops as it cures.
@BeefWellingtons,Ha ha, thanks Beef. I included the picture because I had just completed a little defoliation to get some light to the lower buds that were shaded a little. I included that picture because you know you have a killer strain when your fans are pumping out the trichomes like that. Those went into the extract pile :)
@Stinkfox,Yessir, I’m really excited to have 4 of those for next round. I have never run just 1 strain in my system so I always had to compromise and could never 100% dial in my strains. Those monster Cropped Mandarin Haze’s are going to be flowering in the fall/early winter which means my environment should be spot on. Still have between 1-2 weeks left on my current grow, then 5-7 days of drying and cleaning out the room. So the monsterncropped clones still have about 21 days to hang out in that cloner...
@Stinkfox,yeah I am really loving the RDWC and fine tuning it a little more each round. Just switched to Jacks Hydroponic nutrients as I believe that their powder nutrient line looks really inexpensive compared to the stuff sold in the hydro stores.
Damn! I just used my screen on my trim bin and gave the trim to a friend after that. I defoliated quite a bit throughout and trimmed most off before I harvested the buds. All that was thrown in my trash can in the closet. Next time I'm gonna save it all once it gets frosty.
@Beans,that is very much appreciated. I like experimenting and documenting so if I can help someone learn, or someone else could look at my videos and help me learn something, I’m down.
@MagicMikesMeds, I was checking out some of your YouTube stuff yesterday. I subscribed to your channel cuz I think I'll be able to learn some cool shit. Thank u.
@Beans,Trichomes are useable no matter where they come from as far as I am concerned. As soon as I notice the first leaves with trichomes I start saving them if they get removed through defoliation (which I do a lot of), and I’ll leave them on top of my cloner box for 2-3 days until it is pretty dry and then I put them in jars with humidity packs and basically cure it as if it were bud. Check out the following video of my last round of extraction of kief:
https://youtu.be/iLDPakHCyYs
@Beans, As soon as I start to see trichomes I will save the leaves for extraction. Last round I had 109 grams of kief that was pulled off of leaves and trim alone. Granted it was pretty dirty because I used dry ice to extract so there was a lot of plant material. This round I plan to use a 5 gallon bubble wash machine for doing my extraction. Defiantly less harsh on the trichomes and very little plant material. Should be able to get some full melt off of the leaves using this method. Time will tell...
@MagicMikesMeds, your trichomes looked way longer than mine :( lmao. That's 1 of my mistakes is I threw away most of my frosty leaves and still got a ton of kief (by my standards) . Can only imagine if i had all of it.
@Beans,Ha ha that’s too funny 😂!!! I guess you could say she is dripping. This strain started pumping out trichomes around week 4, and almost every remaining fan leaf has trichomes at least half the way down the leaf. I make extracts from my garden, so this round all the defoliated fan leaves have been dried and saved because of the extra volume of trichomes. Very happy with the strain!!!
@Ministry, Hey Ministry, I had three quick questions about the Mandarin Haze genetics.
1) I am at day 56 right now and the trichomes are clear/cloudy. I like to harvest as a few Amber trichomes begin to show up, so I was wondering if this is a true 10 week strain?
2) I am seeing a bit of foxtailing with new calyx’s blowing out the top of the colas. I have read that this is a generic trait in some strains. In some of the stock photos of the strain it looks like most of the photos have some foxtailing in them. Could you verify if this is a genetic trait of the Mandarin Haze.
3) what is the ideal room temp for this strain to thrive?
Thanks 🙏 in advance!!
@Ministry, thanks for the kind words. Absolutely love the genetics. I choose the Mandarin Haze as a freebie seed with my last order. While I only had 1 to grow this round, I have monster cropped the 1 that I had, and I am greatly looking forward to a full room of Mandarin Haze plants for my next round starting in about 4 weeks.
@Morbiddave,that’s awesome! Waiting for those clones to root is the slowest couple of days, and then from 1 day to the next they just explode with root growth. My clones stay in my cloner for almost 6 weeks, but due to the fact that I take clones from flowering plants they take a little longer because they need to be reverted back to the vegetative state. My garden has 1-2 weeks left, so those clones should be entering their final home in a couple of weeks.
Absolutely I'm the same way. I've been helping a couple friends with the limited knowledge I have. Im trying to recruit some indoor growers but not having luck. Everybody here does outdoor. I only know of 1 other person in the county doing indoor. Not saying there aren't but 3 of the 13 people in my department at work ar doing outdoor and if I thought about it I could probably come with 10-15 more fairly easy. Besides the 1 other guy 30 miles from here I've never even heard anybody consider attempting it. I'm a weirdo I guess...
@MissFlowerPower420, that is really unfortunate, and I am hopeful the laws will eventually change for all the growers overseas. The US is just as messed up though because cannabis is FEDERALLY illegal in the entire USA. A number of states have approved either the medical or recreational cannabis, but it does not change the fact that it is federally illegal. I live in a state that allows both medical & recreational cannabis, however the federal government t can stroll in at any moment and arrest me because even though my state says it is legal to grow 6 plants per adult, the federal government says it is still illegal. Stupid if you ask me. Like you said there are pedophiles running around this earth and governments are worried about people growing a natural plant. I call BS!!
@MagicMikesMeds, dam I wish I lived there . Uk sucks ass when it comes to cannabis.
During summer it's easy to get away with high temp from indoor grow but come winter bluddy copper choppers r out en masse trying to catch us out . It's crazy . Us poor herbal enthusiasts are treated like criminals n get long jail sentence yet peados n such like get slap on wrists . Theresa May n the government r bitches 😭😭😭
@Beans,very interesting. I only know one person here that grows outdoor. I think many are daunted by the fact that you have to completely recreate nature with indoor grows not to mention what could be overwhelming costs to get started indoor vs throwing some seeds in soil outside. My wife almost had my head when I told her that I was going to spend $4,000 to build and set up my indoor garden, but keeping my operation legal was all she really cared about which meant it needed to be an indoor grow.
@OutForReal,thanks for the kind words. 20 some odd years ago when I was in college I got a minor in photography so I definitely love taking photos of my garden. I have 3 different strains in my garden right now, but I have only been showing the Mandarin Haze pictures. I just started harvesting 2 Jack 47’s by Sweet Seeds. I had manifolded them and they ended up growing out of control. Very excited for next round which will feature 4 Momster Cropped Mandarin Haze 😍
@OutForReal,Yessir she is super sticky. I have to wear long sleeves when working in the garden or it gets all over my arms and the I just smell like a ganja plant all day
