I am testing out an eazyplug mini pyramid because I'm hopeless with pots, but she is doing well so far. Just hoping to use these to catch some wasted light and use up some of my freebie beans. I'm very impressed so far. Have not used any nutrients at all just water.
I am liking these Pyramids more every day, so far at week three this is performing as well as it would in my larger hydro pots but she looks less stressed. Early days yet, still have to see how big she gets, but in reality I'm seeing this as more of a test grow for the next size up the 10" eazyplug pyramid. But it's early days yet so lets see how it goes when she starts drinking faster.
I am still figuring this out, but I am now watering this by holding her over one of my larger flowering reservoirs and pouring nutrient down the top till it comes out the bottom, I am doing that quite often during they. I am surprised that she is still growing. From the side she looks very sparse but from the top the leaves have arranged themselves to get the most light so she looks more bushy. Flowers are developing their purple colours and as you can see from the close up shot, the trichomes are many but very tiny which is interesting.
I still do not know if there is going to be much of a result or if she is just a pretty little bonsai plant only good for decoration. Time, as they say, will tell.
First defoliation this week, took off all the lower leaves as they weren't getting much light and there's plenty of green leaves around the buds, looks nice at the base now. I discovered that the ppm runoff was 3500 so I've been pouring the nutrients solution into the top by the litre and letting it drain back to my reservoir, I'm using the flowering res from my other grow, which is 1:2:2 and 1500ppm.
She appeared to be growing really slowly with small buds, but I had a look at a two week old photo and I must have lost track of time, as she had only just begun to flower. Feels more like four weeks! So now I'm wondering what more she can do. Stay tuned this could be exciting. I'm excited anyway. Nothing like what I expected.
Updated some more shots, I only now just realised that I can hold the plant upside down or at any angle under the lights to get the type of bud shots that are normally impossible.
Coming along nicely, I'm still surprised at the result in what is basically a one litre pot, one litre of actual volume. This is possibly the most attractive plant I've grown.
She has begun to ripen fast. No more bulking up by the look of it, still a lot of clear trichomes, but there appears to be enough airflow that I'll see how she goes during the week. I may end up chopping anytime. So far this is much better than I expected.
At nine weeks the time had come. 310g wet so prolly looking at 60g minimum of quality bud. Harvest report next week. I was surprised to see that there were only mainly very very fine root hairs that almost dissolve into the plug.
62g of bud which was exactly what I expected from 310 wet weight. Every bud from the top to bottom is high quality. Very unusual petrol and fruit smell. Very pleased with this result from a one litre pot.
