Auto rainbow candy & kong

brutalsbong_ilbomba I'd like to try growing 4 small autoflowers with 4 different techniques. For reasons of space I chose 5 litre containers (with a 7 litre pot it went well). Let's see what happens!

brutalsbong_ilbomba After the second week, the growth is optimal. I applied different techniques for the three rainbow candy (LST + topping, only topping, only FIMing). They seem to have already recovered well from the stress. I will apply these techniques again when the plants are more developed. I covered the soil with expanded clay because, since the container is small, it helps me keep it moist; otherwise, it dries out quickly.

brutalsbong_ilbomba A rainbow has been in pre-flowering for a couple of days now, in fact, it has developed less than the others. This week I won't be using any techniques on the plants.

brutalsbong_ilbomba A particular week, around day 24 I noticed male flowers on 2 rainbow candy (one was the one where I used LST). I believe it could be due to the box change made last week, probably the environmental conditions were too different. In any case, there remains one rainbow candy and the auto kong which have now entered the flowering stage, in fact, I have started using the specific products for that phase. As you can see from the last photo, I applied SCROG netting.

brutalsbong_ilbomba From this week, I will have to diversify the nutrients for the two plants; the rainbow will go to top max 4 ml/l, for the kong I will have to wait at least another week. I’d say everything is going correctly, but the rainbow has a completely purple/burgundy stem apparently without consequences. I continue to remove leaves where necessary and scrog. After the umpteenth hook of the net broke, I decided to take it off because at the moment I don’t have another one in stock.

brutalsbong_ilbomba This week the rainbow candy will start the flushing phase, I believe that in about 10 days I should be able to harvest it. The kong, on the other hand, will start top max at 4 ml/l. Even though the pots are 5 liters, it seems to me that the plants have optimized the yield, but if I could go back, I wouldn't top the apex; however, the buds look very nice and heavy. In the kong, I can notice a deficiency, in my opinion, of calcium and magnesium, but currently, I don't have a product to correct it. I'm getting ready for the next productions.

brutalsbong_ilbomba The kong will continue its journey towards maturation, I believe for another couple of weeks. The rainbow is in the dark, stressed from dehydration and rich in resin and aromas: harvest expected on day 59. At the end of the ninth week, the outside temperatures are very high, which leads to obvious issues. Anyway, we are towards the end, from day 63 the kong will no longer be hydrated until partial wilting.

brutalsbong_ilbomba I decided to clean the dry buds, it took me a long time but it was fun and the product is more fragrant and succulent, it dried for 5/6 days at temperatures >25°, not exactly ideal but unfortunately I had no other options. I believe that not cleaning them earlier helped. We'll see how they turn out.

brutalsbong_ilbomba Harvest took place on very hot days, especially in the area of the house dedicated to drying. Given the conditions, it dried for a day (too dry for just one day) and then I preferred to put it in a jar to contain the moisture loss too quickly. I hope I did the right thing. The cleaning was quick since the plant developed little foliage between the buds. I decided to clean it well before drying, but I don't like that technique; I find that the buds are better preserved if protected by the little leaves.
