3/13 Glass of water for 32 hour 3/15 moved to paper towel. 3/17 3 of the 4 popped and had long roots, moved all 4 to soil. 3/21 4th seed is still solid, giving up and only growing 3 of my 10 seeds.

Most popular method of germination? And why might a seed not sprout? I had mine in water for 32 hours then moved to paper towel for about 48 hours

Hi, since i have tried once the rockwool method i never fail a germination. I suggest you to try! The only thing to pay attention whit this method is to not over water the rockwoll, that absorb a lot of water, personally, i sink the rockwoll in water than i squeeze It ti remove the excess. I big pro of this method is that after the germination you can transfer the rockwool whitout any stress for the plant wherever you want, soil, coco, hydro or even on a cat etc... Hope you the best for tour project!

Organoman - just for the record, the pot size you mentioned, 4 inches by 5 inches, is what I consider a tiny pot. Im pretty sure the ones I use for my jiffy pellets to go into are 6 inches by 8 inches, Or I use the next size down to sow seed directly. .. but agree- decent sized pots are a must. get lots in diff sized and shapes too and see what works best for you. I had access to landscaping waste so I have dozens of diff sized pots. For the last few years im trying to figure out if im insane or if square pots VS round pots with same volume seems to be growing better seedlings... at least in small pots its so far working out that way, but need more data to confirm this. Anyone else finding this to be true??

Seeds prepped in water is most sure fire way I have obtained a high germination rate. It is the oldest and simplest way with great results. Paper towel method takes way too long. Too much handling of sprout. Chances of contamination. I have noticed lighter color seeds tend not to sprout at all.

Not sure why but one plant is really low not growing upward. The 2 that are going good have some odd coloring on the leaves. Any ideas why this is?

Week 4 and going much better. Green healthy leaves are growing and they are getting taller each day! P1 and P2 are in 7 gallon gray fabric pots while P3 is in the 5 gallon black fabric pot. I am testing to see if 5 vs 7 which gets more overall and seems healthier through the grow. Having a hard time with humidity so I went ahead and got some straw to top the plants with and am running the humidifier much more often. P3 is a stubby little thing so she is about 25 inches from the light and the other 2 are 18. Late week 4 update - I perform some light defoliation on all plants, topped P1 and P2 but did not top P3. I am worried P3 might be male or even another strain.

2 growing strong 1 is clearly a runt. Gonna move the runt to the far side of my tent with just the extra hanging light. The other 2 will bathe under my 3 main lights and get a trellis net soon!

Started noticing some nutrient possible issues. Not sure how to fix. Water with ph 7.6 no additives. Run off measured 6.4 ph. I’ve been watering with ph 6.5 so run off was likely 5.5 or less.

There is definitely a nutrient issue I think. I topped each plant with 1/2 cup crab meal and alfalfa meal mixed into 2 fresh cups of strawberry fields. Water per gallon I added 1 tbsp of Unsulfured molasses, 5 ml of Alchemist Stout MSA monosilicic acid and ph after to 7.6. Both large plants are most of the 2 gallons of water with basically no run off. They were really dry.

Leaves have yellow coloring. I am only at week 3 of flower. I topped with 1/2 cup crab/alfalfa meal. Watered using 1tbsp Unsulfured molasses, 5 ml monosilicic acid, ph to 7.6. Run off with just straight water last week ph 7.6 was 6.4. I’ve been watering with water at ph of 6.5

Yeah it maybe abit to do with running organic nutes, sometimes you can get a delayed onset of effects from amendments or teas and compensate with more nutes and slowly but surely push yourself towards problems by default. Honestly i wouldnt add more nutes just run it water only to 6.3-6.8 ph and let it flush & fix it self
