Decided to enter in a mid-way journal after looking into how safe this all was lol. I'm using a 7-gallon generic airpot with FF Coco loco growing medium mixed with about 40% perlite. The only training I ever do to this plant is tucking fan leaves daily. I'm excited to upload info about this grow, seeing as this WCOG has exploded into a monster that might outgrow her tent. She lives in her own 32x32x60 tent. Out of the five different genetics I'm running, WCOG has been the quickest growing. The other journals I'll be starting include FastBud's LSD-25, Pineapple Express, Green Crack, and an unknown Blueberry strain. I'll be uploading more info soon!
This is now up to date. She is absolutely killing it with growth and thankfully just hit flower. She practically touches the sides of the tent. She still lives in her 32x32x60 tent on her own. I am currently giving her a gallon of water every other day. On feeding days, which are every other watering, i follow the above mixture. On just waterings, i feed 2tsp/gallon of both calmag and silica blast. shes about 33 inches tall and about 30 inches wide. She is exploding with new growth on every inch of every branch. She has spread out pretty well on her own. The only sort of training i do is tuck fan leaves daily.. I'm pretty excited to see how this girl turns out.
I also use bush doctor flowers kiss as a foliage spray on days that I water, whether feeding or just water. The mixture is 2tsp/gallon.
Shes still doing very well. No more signs of burning since i made adjustments. She has stiffened up and is really starting to stretch her side branches up. I can already tell that she is going to be a leaner.
I did switch the light cycle to 5/1 in hopes of easing any sort of burning. So far, shes recovered and hasn't burned any further.
This girl is insane. Shes outgrown the tent once again. Since she started getting light burned and is still gaining an inch a day, I had to do something before she really got burnt. I took a razor to the bottom of the tent shes in and lifted the tent about a foot higher up. I also lowered the light just a few inches to give the fans some room to exhaust the air from the light and not shock the plant with sudden distance and make her reach up even more.
On top of that, I also defoliated her a decent amount tonight. She's still really early in flower and is stretching bud sites an insane amount. Most of the lower branches that i snipped were at least a foot long. at least. Shes doing amazing and I'm extremely happy.
SHES STILL BURNING EVEN AFTER THE ADJUSTMENTS!.......
I think the stress from the defoliation kind of messed her up and made her burn easier. Now i need to raise it another four to six inches at least.
did a bit more defoliation on her. I can already tell that shes going to have lots of huge colas. She still has a ways to go. She has a faint citrus, earthy smell.
D63- She is developing larger buds now. I did a little more defoliation and put the grate under her pot for drainage for flushing. Since that lifted her up, I lifted the tent up another 3 inches. Her side branches have gotten lazy and are leaning on the sides of the tent. I may need to tie her soon, which is the main reason for the tomato cage.
She's still doing very well. I lifted her pot up and put the grate underneath for drainage when i flush her this week. She does have a slight burn on her tips, which is another reason to flush her with some sledgehammer. Her smell is developing more by the day, now giving off a light citrus scent with more of an earthy/woody scent. The bottom of the tent is now lifted about an inch higher than the soil in her pot.
flushed her on D67. Her starting runoff ppm was 1300, which is probably higher than it actually is since her runoff tray wasn't clean starting out. Finished her runoff at 450 ppm after 21 gallons of water mixed with FF sledgehammer. Since starting ppm of flushing solution is 410, I think her soil is as nute-less as it can be.
D68. I had to tie a few branches of hers up. . She's starting to put on weight, and her side branches are leaning down, left, and right. Her side branches have side branches that are so heavy that shes leaning HARD. Happy i added the tomato cage. Plus the chicken wire is great for tying to. I can't imagine the harvest this girl is going to bring. I'm so happy and excited lol
Dude, I just got 8 beans of WCOG and I'm going to be starting my 1st grow come September. I hope I get through a complete grow let alone a monster plant like that. I let you know.
that's exciting! you'll no doubt be able to grow her without any issues. the only thing she seems to be prone to is light burn. lmk if you ever have any questions! I'll do my best!
thanks! it's probably the 7 gal pot and Coco/Perlite mix that's made her so big. bigger girls take longer tho, so 5 normal sized plants can get an even larger yield in less time. I'm probably running 5 gal fabric airpots next time. you're doing a great job too! feel free to ask any questions, I'll do my best lol
she officially outgrew the tent at day 47. the light is too close to her now, burning the leaves in the center. I'm switching up the light cycle to give more darkness and dropping the plant a few inches closer to the ground in hopes of helping her out. lawdy!
