Toward the end of the week I decided to start using my led light to compare growth. The tips burned a little on some of them so I adjusted the hight to about 22" (might have been too close and only the lower leafs burned... probably because they were not getting very intense light with the T5) and brightness is at 50%. I began increasing the brightness by 5% every other day. The growth under the led seemed much more significant, though I liked how they grew under the T5, but Team Cream was getting taller than the rest and I needed more hight. The plants seem to be growing at a much faster rate, I only wonder how they would look if I used the SF-2000 from the start. I would have if I had not already purchased the light and wanted to get some use out of it. But next grow I am defiantly using the SF-2000 from start to finish and might just use the T5 with some retrofit led bulbs for cloning/ another grow area.
The energy savings with the SF-2000 are insane! I was using about 200w with the T5 once it heated up and running at its most efficient temp. and was getting decent results. When I switch lights, the difference in growth was night and day. Before the plants focused their growth were it was closest to the light. With the led growth is all around the plant, must more branches and am able to train the plant much easier, not to mention the minimal heat when the lamp is on.
With the led + everything else running I am using less electricity than the T5 alone and getting much better results.
Have been dealing with humidity issues (very low in MI rn) and was borrowing my girlfriend's humidifier which did not produce a consistent humidity level. It was either too low or way to high. One day when I left for a few or so hours while the humidity was set at medium and when I got back it was 100%. There was water condensation everywhere. My humidity meter wasn't working properly and had to put it in some rice overnight, luckily it is up and running now. My lovely girlfriend bought me a Visvion Humidifier and it works amazing, though I can't figure out were I can put essential oils in it. The new humidifier works great and has a pretty big capacity ( 6L I think) which lasts me more than two days and has been accurately helping me maintain the humidity. The plants seem to really like the consistency in not only humidity but also temperature. Since I switch from the T5 to the led the temperature has stayed more consistent and much lower. The night and light times are only a degree or two (C) different.
What do you think the problem with leafs are during my week 4? I have noticed the there was discoloration on some levels and somewhat looks like someone might be eating from underneath of the leafs.
Currently all three of my plants are around 14” and are almost completely filling up their area. But the height is not quite a level table and I was wondering when I should initiate flowering.
If you can't hang your light higher than your pictures show, I would say right now. They will still stretch to some degree and when you force them to flower now, you won't have issues with them growing all the way up to the light.
