Been an organic grower since I first started back in 2008 and was on a hiatus since 2012. Tried to start something again back in 2018 but didn't get too far before having to go abroad. I started these Mr. Nice Super Silver Haze back in November 2021 and popped 5 seeds to try. Never grown in a single rockwool cube before so I have a couple I am experimenting with and the rest are in coco and will be fed with the modified Lucas Formula with Epsom salt. The rockwool plants will just get the modified Lucas Formula without the Epsom salt. What I have experienced on day 14 is that the runoff EC on the rockwool plants have a high EC about double what's being fed. My understanding is that I may be not be irrigating frequently. So I have just drenched the hell out of them with a low EC solution in hopes to replace the nutrients in the cube. Will continue with a low EC until I see a more stable runoff. Possibly the PPFD needs to be higher as the canopy of the plants range around 500-700 umol and will be pushed close to 1000 umol as my lights can do. This grow is also running close to me going abroad again but I think I will be able to postpone that trip for a few weeks. Then all this grow equipment will travel with me so I can set something up over there too... Hopefully.

They were all foliar sprayed with Athena IPM and Stack on Day 15 and for the last time on Day 19. I defoliated most of the lower fan leaves but kept all the leaves on the budsites for another defoliation after most of the buds have developed with new leaf growth. My lights are now on 100% and can only expect good things. Also it is my first time using LEDs. I am still waiting on some FloraFlex PotPro Platforms to place under the coco bags so that I can monitor the runoff EC of each grow bag. I don't think I will be adjusting the ones in coco much but I will be checking the rockwool plants regularly because they dry out quite quick especially in the small 4" cubes. But I am experimenting with 2 different phenos on how they grow compare to the ones in the larger substrate. I guess they have been growing quite fast and have more or less quadrupled in height from when they first went into 12/12. I am not sure whether to keep it at 12/12 or reduce the light to 11/13 light most people growing equatorial varieties? But I will see if I need to later if bud production doesn't slow down. Smell is just that green cannabis smell. Not bud. Mostly chlorophyll but has the scent of the stem rub. Not at all strong but I can recognise it as soon as the tent is opened. I added a trellis to help hold the plants up as support but removed it until the PotPro Platforms arrive then will put it back. My plan was to slightly bend the taller plants for the smaller ones to catch up as an even canopy as it can and I didn't need to do that because the small ones have caught up and is about 2-3 inches smaller than the others which is fine. Now it's all about patience. Week 3 down... 7-8 more weeks to go!

Been quite busy so backtracking... I guess the only thing I did was to feed them then added 2 trellis nets because the stretch on these Super Silver Haze plants was expected. The first trellis at the bottom is to control the lower branches and the second was used to lean the plants so that they wouldn't reach the maximum light distance and to even out the canopy. I am going to need a third one so that I can lean them the opposite direction because they have grown a little. The following week I will eliminate the use of GHE/Terra Aquatics Micro and only use 9ml of Bloom to 1 gallon of water. The plants are quite green and doesn't look like they have any issues at the moment. The Epsom salt that is added to the coco solution helps keep the plants green as they aren't as dark as the rockwool plants. Maybe that cation exchange stuff that I really need to understand properly. Even though the rockwool plants are in only 4" cubes I kinda prefer the way it's growing compared to the coco plants. They seem to grow a touch faster and looks like it can make a nice main cola/top because of how there's hardly any side branching unlike the ones in coco. I suspect that it's due to the amount of substrate space for the roots to grow into so a little veg could've helped but they would've been taller if I did. So rockwool is surprisingly my choice for my future grows, especially now that I've been familiarising myself with crop steering and that agriculture in general have practices that cannabis growers need to utilise if they want to maximise and efficiently use the resources needed to grow exponentially grown crops. And that's by monitoring every input and output.

Sorry I haven't been updating my diary. Too many things going on in my life and haven't had too much time to just sit down and sort everything out. Well I am a carer for my mother full time and she recently was accompanied by her youngest sister to fly to the Philippines. My mother has been disabled since 2014 from a sever stroke which she was operated in the brain also. She normally takes her almost yearly trip and stays for 6 months. I was to accompany her but I was aiming for Christmas as my funds aren't up to par. Because my aunt offered her to go since she has her leave from work my mother agreed immediately and I had to pay for her ticket... Sets me back some months. Anyways while she is away for maybe the next 6 months until I go out there and bring her back to London I will be finishing off this Super Silver Haze grow and squeezing in one more grow before I have my vacation. So I have photos of the past weeks somewhere but I have to sort them out somehow. So I will update with tonight's photos. They have been flushing now for 14 days but I reckon these plants still have another week if not a few more days until they are ready to the eye. New hairs were shooting out and foxtails appeared. The recent weather here was really hot and I have tried my best to keep the temperature down and have lowered the light intensity and have dimmed my lights back really low. The light schedule was tweaked to 11/13 on/off to try and speed things up but the plants starting throwing more new white hairs but has slowed down. I didn't plan to flush super long but these just aren't finishing yet and I hope the extra flush time doesn't affect the final flavour in being bland if it can ever get to that point? I'm trying to dry the substrates back a lot and have dropped the amount of water I give. So infrequent waterings to help them think it's nearing the end and to help keep some weight when I cut and dry them. I do not want too much water content when I harvest. I think I will be harvesting by next week sometime and then I can relax for 2 weeks.
