Well it's that time of the year again. Outdoor season!!!!. I've got to say ever since last year when I did autos outside ive really been looking forward to this year. I didn't have any issues with my plants like I did when I did feminized photo plants outdoor. Get way to much rain the last month of flower and get bud rot. But because I start my autos in April there usually done by end of June beginning of July. Hopefully I'll be able to get two seasons in this year. This first run I decided to go with Canuk Seeds Cheese and Purple Kush Auto strains. From what ive read there both great outdoor auto strains and I'm really excited to see how they both turn out.
Now there first week I had them in just there peat pellets in a tray at tge bottom of my 2x3 tent that's running on 18/6 lights. Second week they were both in my grow room getting more light but only getting 12/12. Now there finally outside in my 10x12 garden that's fenced and gated to keep the kids, dogs and critters away. There spot there in gets the most direct sunlight a day and has walls surrounded them to hopefully help with late night temperature breeze. If it gets to cold out I'll bring them inside at sundown and take them back out at sunrise. I'm up ever day at 6am anyways so no biggie for me.
The plants are in 10g fabric pots with Fox Farm Ocean Forest soil. I'm going to be using Green planet nutrients, I'm not sure if I want to use there 3 part or try out there dry nutrients for my outdoor. Might be a fun experience trying there dry stuff.
Well that's all for now so happy growing everyone
Well there first week outside went well. The purple kush looks to be handling the outdoor weather a bit better then the cheese so far. I've only had to water them every other day because we have had a few sprinkles of rain here or there. Outside night time temperature got a bit low on Thursday and ended up bringing them inside so that they didn't go into shock from the 3c air temperature. Just picked up Green Plant Nutrients back country nutrient system. It's a 2 part powder program with just 1 additive for it. Super easy to use, just sprinkle some on top and then water, don't have to add any more for 2 weeks. Because I'm using fox farm ocean forest soil I haven't had to use any yet but I might start adding a small amout of the grow this week to see if it helps speed up growth a bit.

Well that's a bit of a flip. First couple weeks the purple kush was looking like the better plant by far but now the cheese plant looks better. Hopefully in the next week or so both plants might kick it into overdrive and start growing a bit more but I have my misgivings on that happening.
The weather outside the last week has been all over the map. Pouring rain most of the time with cloud over with a bit of hail, sunshine, low temperature, high temperature, low humidity, high humidity all mixed in lol. Humidity has gone down as low as 45% and gone up as high as 95%. Temperature during the day has been around 12 and 16 in the shade and 18 to 20 in the direct sunlight. Night time has been as warm as 7c and as cold as 3c. I try to bring them inside when it drops below 5c but I don't want to shock the plants to much with the sudden increase in temperature (usually 17c in my house at night).
With all the rain we have been getting I haven't had to water them to often but ive noticed the purple kush has been dropping a bit so ive been checking the weight of the pot to make sure it's got enough. Gave them each 4ml of miicrobial mass with a feeding yesterday.

Well the outside weather is finally taking a turn for the better lol. Last week and a bit it's been none stop rain and clouds. Last 3 days there has been sunshine with just a bit of morning rain (makes watering the plants easy lol). Gave then a quick FIM yesterday to do at least a bit of training. The night lights I set up for them are working awesome, they get a extra 8 hours of light every night but not a lot. There only putting off a very small amount of par (100 umols) but it's helping on the cloudy days. Probably got another week or so before flower starts, hopefully the weather gets better before then.
Well that's all for now so happy growing everyone!!!
Oh boy did both of these plants jump up in size lol. Guess that's what happens when you go from cold nights and cloudy days to warm nights and sunny days lol. Now that they have been outside for a month I'm going to be watching them closely for when they start flowering so i can start adding my nutrients.
Gave them both a quick FIM to encourage some more growth and also let the pots completely dry out before adding water to them. With all the rain we got I felt like they were getting a little to much water.
Well that's all for now so happy growing everyone.
Plants are really starting to grow fast lol at this rate I could see them both being around 4ft by harvest. Unless they stop growing early like my last outdoor autos did last year.
Started using Green Planet Nutrients backcountry Bloom because of how simple it is to use. And because all the stuff I've grown indoors with there GP3 system turned out amazing so I figured I'd try out there outdoor stuff. I used fox farm ocean forest soil for the start so didn't need the grow but the next outdoor plants ill be using it.
Well that's all for now, happy growing everyone!!!
The last 6 days were great. Little rain in the morning followed by bright sunny days. It was great, plants were loving it, socking up the sun like crazy. And then today came, heavy rain and wind (plants have a slight lean to them, you can kind of see it in the pictures). The humidity also jumped up today also. Hopefully it won't last much longer, plants are maybe day 9 of flower so few more weeks and heavy rain like this and high humidity might kill the crop. You have to time autos outdoor right or you can still get screwed over.

Well the plants are still growing nicely. The cheese is 36" and the purple kush is just pushing 39". The stocks on both of them are getting Hugh, most likely from all the wind we have had the last few weeks. Really toughen them up for when the buds start to grow. Had a far amout of rain the last 2 days, was starting to get worried about the plants but they both appear to still be doing fine. Started using the back country boost, excited to see how this stuff turns out, so far really easy to use.
Well that's all for now Happy growing everyone!!!
So apperntly when I did this post on Saturday, it didn't upload lol. So this well be a short week.
The plants had some decent growth and the buds are really starting to grow. Looking at how big the buds are already in the purple kush compared to the cheese, so I'm pretty sure there about a week apart in age. That's the one thing I hate about autos is not know exactly when flower started. You can guesstimate best you can but chances are it well be off by 5-8 days.
Really loving the green planet nutrients backcountry, so damn easy to use a monkey could do it. 1tbsp per foot of plant every two weeks. Super easy. And the plants clearly love it.
Well that's all for now so happy growing everyone!!!!
Well I can definitely say that the Cheese plant is atleast a week behind the purple kush plant for sure. At first I believed the Cheese was in the early stage of fox tailing but now I know that wasn't the case. Really impressed with the green planet nutrients backcountry, the steams on these plants are massive, I'm not a small guy, and have just above average size digits and as you can see from the photos of my thumb next to the plant, there massive for autos. Probably from all the wind amd me using the leaf blower to dry the plants off after rain fall lol.
I moved them out of my garden space so that I could do some work in there today and noticed that the pots were super light, the last 3 days have been insanely HOT. Jumped 10c over night basically. Yesterday I watered twice, ones in the morning and ones again 12 hours later and by the morning the 5 gal pot was super light. Going to start watering at least twice a day now to keep them watered. Were expecting to hit just over 30c the next week soo there going to need it.
Well that's all now do happy growing everyone!!!
Man from shitty ass rain/cold/cloudy days to super Hot/dry/clear days over night. This last week we were hitting temperatures of 33-36c at the height of the heat with humidity dropping as low as 25%. Plants were getting extra water and a bit of a misting throughout the day to help them live. Lol I focused so much on them that a few of my vegetables and fruit plants suffered a bit from it.
Purple kush - this plant is definitely further ahead then the cheese. It didn't respond much to the FIMing I did to it and has more of a regular single Cole build to it. Also notice a small amout of purple starting in the center of the top Cole. Not expecting more then 120g from this plant at the end of the season.
Cheese - this is going to be the bigger of the two plants by the end. It responded better to training and has a bit of a more of a muilt Cole build to it. It also has a great smell to it, super powerful and yummy. This one is definitely going to have a much higher yeild to it, I'm estimating between 160 and 180 grams.
Nutrients - so every time you feed with green planet nutrients backcountry it lasts for 2 weeks. So I have to figure out when the last feeding is so that my plants can flush for atleast 10 days before harvest. Now according to Canuk Seeds website the purple kush has the shorter schedule of the two, by roughly 2 weeks. But one thing I've noticed about autos is that they usually take a few weeks longer then suggested by the seed companies. Because going by what they have listed, the purple kush plant should be harvested now and the cheese one next week lol not even close. So I'm thinking maybe 1 or 2 more feeds and then flush. Should hopefully get some amazing smoke from this grow.
Well that's all happy growing everyone!!!
So I have a suspension that these two plants are going to end up being extremely small yeilds and I think the constant changing weather we have had this season is to blame. The weather keeps jumping back and forth between hot (25c to 31c) and sunny to mild (19c to 21c) and cloudy with rain every week. One day sun two days of cloud over... it's getting frustrating. Luckly I've got my indoor plants still lol.
Well that's all for now so happy growing everyone.
Well I think is far to say that the purple kush plant has gone to shit and the cheese isn't far behind. I found bugs on both plants two days ago, on the bottom side of about 4 leaves on each plant. The purple kush Is showing a bit of nutrients burn, not sure if I did something wrong with feeding (1/2 a table spoon per foot of plant height every other week) or if the plants didn't like it. Since I gave then feed a week ago if I decided to keep them (at this rate that's not looking likely) I'll have to wait 3 weeks before I can harvest. The buds feel super fluffy and are small. Not looking like it would even be more then 30-40g a plant if that.
Well that's all for now, happy growing everyone!!!
This plants are ready to come down.... but I have to wait a week so that I can flush out more of the slow release nutrients that's in the pots. This is going to be a very disappointing haul from them but I might just turn into hash or press for rosin. I've got a week to figure it all out lol
