First week going well. The first leaves have outgrown the cotyledons and the fun begins! Lights running 18 hours. I have and 2" inline duct-booster as my exhaust fan siphoning heat out of the top of the tent, and a small oscillating fan moving the air around
Flowering appears to have begun. Definitely getting pungent! She's started getting a little pale, so I'm working TPS One in to the watering, added a fresh layer of soil-ammendment, and trimmed a few leaves. Hopefully i nip any nutrient issues in the bud before next week!
Sad Father's Day!
The *feminized* plant looks to be developing hermie signs today! Multiple pollin sacs popping up throughout the plant. Hopefully I'm wrong, but i don't think so. And so, my final attemp at Godzilla Cookies is banished from the tent, where it will now almost certainly parish under the brutal AZ sun. I'll keep feeding it and if it perseveres, I'll make oil or something from whatever i can salvage.
*update after 4 days outside, its still persevering. I've been plucking pollin sacs daily. Showing signs of heat damage, so i moved it out of the hot cinderblock corner, but still near a wall for shade. Rare Arizona rain the last few days is tempering the worst of the 100+ degree weather and giving this plant a fighting chance. We'll see how it lasts when the weather passes.
She had a rough looking day at the start of the week, so i moved her across the yard to the shade of my tree and she's been fine ever since. I removed probably 30 pollin sacs the first week outside, but this last week only saw a few pop up as the new female flowers were sprouting. Just gunna keep tending it outside to prevent pollinating my other plant. So far so good.
Not much to report this week. The plant is clearly struggling in the Arizona Summer, but it isn't giving up. Flower development has become gruelingly slow, but not halted. Added a little Bloom Booster to the soil early in the week since I stopped TPS One weeks ago when it moved outside. Hoping it just pushes through the next month and yeilds ANYTHING usable from this hermie.
The plant is clearly struggling. The desert is undefeated and our recent heatwave has seen daily temps above 110, which will persist for days to come. Even full shade and daily watering might not save it. The body of the plant is stressed, but flower development continues at a snails-pace. I think this next week will be make-or-break
This is the first Herbie's seed I've had go Hermaphrodite on me. Didn't handle the stress of being pulled from the indoor grow tent and banished to my Arizona yard, mid summer, mid flowering. No amount of shade and watering could save it. That said, it grew FAST and STRONG, and if i didn't pull it from the tent to keep it from pollinating others, I imagine it would have been ready for harvest in just 9-10 weeks.
