5/22 Super excited for this grow! This is my very first M/F photo run, previously growing autos exclusively. Ever since I tried some 'French Toast Crunch' flower by FireBros, I knew I needed to get my hands on a genetic with the same supposed cross (Secret Cookies x Kush Mints). The flavor and effects were surreal, with flavors of toasted cereal, very similar to french toast crunch or cinnamon toast crunch lol. Germination was a breeze! Soaked the beans in RO water and hydrogen peroxide for 48 hours. These beans took the longest to crack, but all 5 had taproots after 48 hours of soaking. The photos are another 2 days after planting gently in coco. Two of the five seedlings seem to be crawling away from the light, so i ended up turning them down to 20% power @ 48in above the seedlings. 5/23 SCKM#1 is really growing weird. I dont think the light is necessarily the issue. I carefully removed the shell in hopes that itll fix whatever is happening. I also dug underneath the long taproot and essentially planted it deeper and filled in with coco on top and around the long root. Im hoping this seedling finally starts sprouting towards the light like its siblings. The rest of the seedlings are chugging along and starting to grow their first sets of leaves! It seems that they are really happy based off their root system developement, even on the seedlings that originally were growing sideways and exposing their taproots.

<5/26> These seedlings are officially 4 days old/from sprout. They have been putting up with all my mistakes and BS thus far, while some are showing stress. I made the mistake of using hot potting mix that was burning some of the other plants and stressing these babies out. I flushed them with RO water and Blue Planet Myco until the runoff was around 80ppm from 600. Im surprised they didnt show more stress until now. #4 is hating me right now though. Fingers crossed that #4 pulls through. I fried these babies.

-6/12- Well. 21 days old and looking like 14 days... These plants have (mostly) somehow survived my rollercoaster of care. A lot has happened in the past couple weeks. I transplanted these plants since they were showing signs of overwatering and the substrate wouldnt dry out, even after 3 days. I really didnt give them much water either. The coco substrate just wasnt right and stayed too wet, so I had to stress the plants and transplant them to help in the longrun. Growth slowed for a week or so, so these plants were stunted hard. Some plants still show twisted growth and signs of overwatering, but I believe I finally have it under control moving forward. Some plants are also showing slight signs of either windburn or heat-stress, so I am playing around with airflow and tent temps. #4 never recovered and never really grew past the 2-days-old stage. It sucks but I am planning on tossing this plant in the upcoming week since there has been no improvement and clear root damage and symptoms of chronic-overwatering. Lets hope this plant wasnt a fire female lol I am planning on getting these plants pre-sexed through lab-testing in the upcoming week so I know which ones to cull. After that, I plan to transplant into their final pots! -6/14- Ordering a cheap Par-meter to set the lights to their proper height thru Veg and see if I need to add another LF2000 in flower. Lenofocus shows a great Par-map for a 2ft x 4ft but i need to check it myself. Logically though, 200W isnt enough to flower a 2.5ft x 5ft. I am planning to reassemble the LF2000 into the square formation and add another next to it in flower. I cut leaf samples today for presexing!

-6/30- 39 days from sprout Its been a crazy couple of weeks!! These plants stayed small because i waited way too long to send in plant samples for sexing and kept them in their small pots. They needed water daily and drank like crazy. #4 is chucked. The other 4 out of 4 plants turned out to be female. I was not expecting such a high percentage to be female, so I guess i will be doing more of an SOG style. I transplanted these ladies six days ago into FoxFarm CocoLoco. Immediately after transplant, I fed them at 600ppm with little to no runoff. 48 hours later when I watered with RO and calmag to 80ppm, I was getting runoff ppms of 2400.... and I could already visibly see nute lockout with calcium and magnesium deficiencies, along with just looking really hungry. I flushed each pot with about 3 gallons of RO water to bring the runoff ppm to 400-600. These ladies were affected the most by the lockout and showed heavy deficiencies rather quick. After that, i gave them RO water with calmag to 100ppm and noticed them perk up immediately but still looked really hungry. After feeding them yesterday again at 600ppm, these ladies are really starting to perk up and grow a bit. In about a week or so when these ladies fill in, I will be taking clones of each plant and flipping to flower. -7/1- These girls are eating pretty well now and really starting to explode. With how quickly theyre exploding, I'm forced to flip to flower ASAP aka tonight. This isnt really ideal because I have ZERO cloning supplies right now, forcing me to take clones in about a week. Again, its not ideal, but these girls will be crowded in a week, so I can't wait any longer.

I need help! One of my plants has developed a crazy mosaic pattern on most new growth. There has also been slightly twisted leaf growth. Does this look like a deficiency or Tobacco Mosaic Virus aka TMV?

Don't look to be TMV but instead genetic trait. She seems to be healthy, maybe just a little overwatered. Discolourations apart the green tone is right and don't suggests to add more fertilization. if I were you a I would give a check to the Ph and wait, plant is growing anyway. Cheers

-7/7- day5 after flip These ladies have been doing great overall, but I am seeing micronute deficiencies, specifically copper and/or zinc. Some leaf tips have turned yellow on new growth. You can see the yellowing on the first pic, bottom right corner. Runoff PH has been between 5.9-6.15 at about 600ppms that dropped to 400ppm after a gallon flush. I think they might be getting hungry overall. I am giving a folair feeding of FOOP tonight to hopefully clear some things up. I have been fighting high runoff PPMs this entire run lol 2 of 4 phenos are short and squat, the other two are getting very stretchy. One of the stretchy phenos has a strong sweet mint smell with defoliation. The squat phenos smell more rich and more cookie-like so far. I am waiting on cloning supplies to arrive, then I will be taking cuttings and seeing how well each pheno clones. All four phenos have hard, spikey roots shooting out of every angle of the fabric pots, including the bottom. It looks like the roots are happy!

-7/14- Day12 Ive been slacking on updates since I've been busy keeping 25 clones happy and setting up the new tent. The ladies are just starting to show their female preflowers, but #5 is looking like a hermie. #5 has multiple ball-looking formations and leaf-balls attached to stems. However this lady has very odd growth: mini fan-leaves sprout where preflowers should form. I was going to chop this one, but I noticed five of these small, three-fingered leaves in the exact same spot on other branches. The last few photos show the possible male preflowers and odd growth. I am keeping a close eye on this one. Ill be damned if a hermie bangs my ladies. #3 is still showing a mosaic pattern so it is 100% genetics. #1 and #3 are very short and stocky, while #2 and #5 are stretching like crazy and getting big. -7/15- day13 Still super paranoid about #5, but so far there have not been any definitive pollen-sacks, just more white hairs. I have cut off multiple pods and havent really found anything developed enough to point one way or another. As the next few days progress, I will be checking the pods that I kept intact for hairs. #2 seems to have an explosion of white hairs, along with #1 and #3. I did make another discovery today though. #3 has the same female-looking preflowers without the hairs, but on a short stem off the stalk, just like #5. Ugh. Either theyre both herming on me, or this is another wack strain trait.

Day12 of flower with a couple female preflowers. This pheno has several fan-leaves growing from where the preflowers should be. These growths look scarily close to male preflowers. Hermie or weird growth?

I would agree that is some funky growth, It almost looks like you have a male ball with tiny leaves growing on the edges of it. I would keep a close eye on them. Fingers crossed you see a white hair pop out of them signaling they are female. But with the short stem behind the ball it makes me think male. The last pic where there is no stem looks female without a hair.

---7/17--- Day15 HERMIE ALERT!!!! As much as it kills me to finally admit it, #5 is growing mad balls. And these balls are confirmed to have nanners... So I chopped it. This blows... cuz #5 smelled heavenly, especially when I was chopping it. :( But that's part of the game. I'm sure Secret Cookie has Hermie traits since it's either got Gsc or Kush Mints parents, and Kush Mints is also famous for turning Hermie. It also could have been because of a disruption in light cycle and/or light-leak. Regardless, I can't afford to keep it in the tent, so I'm chucking the (freshly rooted) clones of #5. Time for #1, #2, and #3 to shine! Tomorrow I'm checking every inch of the remaining females.

Please tell me my eyes aren't playing tricks on me. These are bananas inside of a calyx right? Or pistils coming from a pollen-sac..? Is this the ultimate Hermie? Cuz she/he almost fooled me. Wtf?

this is rather common no necessarely need to worry about it. Banana inside the bud happen sometime near the end of flowering, this is a process know as rhodelization an ultimate effort by the plant to pollinate herself and reproduce. Most of the time such banana don't get mature enough to drop some pollen before you harvest, even though they drop some pollen plant won't have enough time to produce mature seed before harvest and in anycase trichrome maturation is advanced enough not to impact significantly your harvest potency. other hermie case is the plant growing a few pollen sac and banana the first few weeks of flowering then stopping afterward and normally producing actively calix and pistilafterward. In this case just touching the pollen sac before they open up and they fall easily if you spot them early and fear about pollination you can always remove them safely with some tweezer before they get mature and open up. finnaly if your plant don't stop producing more actively male flowers than calyx and pistil after the 4-5 first flowering weeks it could be a rare severe hermie case you'll have to rip the plant
the end.
