---7/20-- Day18
First things first, #1 started to herm and throw clusters of balls. This one also had the most patchy and stretchy growth. Chopped it and tossed the clones. #5 showed four or so balls, primarily on small branches that weren't getting light under the canopy. There was also one swollen calyx that had bananas inside.... Keeping a very close eye on this one. If things go south, I will be chopping this 3 foot monster and chucking the clones. That means that 5 of the 9 Surfr females hermed, which could definitely be 100% on me. These are literally my first photoperiod plants. This is also my first grow in over a year. This could also be due to light leaks, as I know there are pinholes along the seams of the tent. OR.... it could be from them stretching towards the light and getting stressed by the light. Regardless, I cannot keep herms.
All that BS aside, these ladies are smelling amazing and stretching WAY TOO DAMN MUCH. The spot I topped on each plant is 10 inches from the dirt. #4 and #5 are now approaching 3 feet tall while #31 and #32 are about 5in shorter. This means that the branches are a minimum 2 feet right now. Will they need support...? Probably lol so FML
These ladies seem very healthy so far. Chugging along for the long haul. These babies are gonna go LONG, I can already tell.
FOR THE LOVE OF GOD
STOP STRETCHING
PLEASE....
-7/22- Day20
#5 is really starting to stink and smell heavenly. So far, no more male parts.
I finally got the RH down to 50-58% from the 68-70% that i was sitting at for a little while. My temp sensor was also buried in the canopy and wasnt getting an accurate reading, so the 76° temps were really closer to 81 or higher.
I am running out of real estate when it comes to raising my one light. Maybe a foot or so... this is mental! Also worth noting, the stems on these ladies are super thick, especially for how tall they are. The clones are going into 2gal bags to hopefully make them stay shorter.
--7/23-- Day21
All the ladies are eating 100% of what Im giving them. My feeding schedule right now is 300ppm on water days, 900ppm on feed days, switching every 48 hours. Runoff PPMs are the exact same coming out as they are going in, so I may need to start feeding them more very soon.
--7/24-- Day22
Giving another high ppm feeding today and turned the lights down to roughly 80%. The XXX in the tent was starting to get burnt from the lights and I noticed the Secret Sunset ladies showing light stress as well. Most of the leaf tips were bright green/yellow on the SS, while the XXX is showing dark spots between veins and also brown leaf edges in other areas.
Temps went down by 5°F once i turned down the lights lol its been a hot one here. Tent temps went from 82-83 down to 78°F. Ironically enough, Im pretty sure these lights are too powerful for the space.
Very nice. I see you worried about stretching. 21+ days and it'll stop. Most stop within the 3 week period, I had the same thing happen to me with my photos. Had about a 6c change at times when lights where off for all my plants and they trippled in height. Hopefully by next week they'll stop, they should start slowing down. If you can keep your temp as stable as you can for dark and light it should stop it, or slow it down, but it'll stop in a few days.
They look great though. Good luck wit the rest of pre flower.
@gottagrowsometime, Temp fluctuations from day and night are probably the main cause. I'm relying on the AC to mainly keep RH down right now, so I have it blasting.
I'm thinking both the 'Golden Pineapple' and 'Face Off OG' are stretchers anyways too.
I pray youre right though. 🙏
