First Grow Ever

danceswithplants mistake while potting the seedlings: I pointed the little root tip down - should have pointed it up so the seedling can do its little summersault and grow stronger. Actually no nutrient water or any nutrient at all up until this week.

Plants acclimated well and began gaining strength. Took rainstorm, changing temperatures and overcast weather well. I do worry however about high humidity once flowering season is upon us. Might have to build greenhousey structure for them.

danceswithplants Plants came into original soil, which is largely red clay, so I mixed it up with good quality growth substrate - depth and circumference about a five gallon volume. They took well to planting, except Frosted Guava, which kept showing yellow deficiencies in its leaves. I waited a week and tried flushing with water, until I unearthed her and found that the strong dart root had caught in the netting of the pellet I had her sprouted in. Despite removing the netting posthaste, she did not recover.
