GreenOrganicGermany Another favorite from my first coffee shop visits: the good old Kush. An absolutely classic strain. I'm totally into that typically earthy, pungent flavor, plus the deadly effect that pulls you into the couch in no time... I'm curious to see what the "Special Kush" has in store for me =D In the coffee shops in my area, classic Kush is unfortunately quite rare. (I live near the Dutch border) The demand, especially from German customers, seems to lean more towards Haze in all its available variations. Haze is nice, sure, but personally, I think nothing beats a classic Indica. So here we go! Day 1 and one of my babies is struggling with the first problem =D She just won't pop out of her shell. Let's see when she finally manages to do it =D Day 2: Nope. She didn't manage it today either =D Day 3: And again, she didn't make it =D It seems like she's really clinging to her shell =D Otherwise, I'm a bit dissatisfied with the growth of the ladies. They're stretching a bit too much for my liking. Overall, their stems are quite weak. I've increased the light intensity to 75%. I'm still getting used to my new LED board... Day 4: Madame is still wearing her hat -.- The other ladies are struggling... Day 5: This morning I saw the little one for the first time without her shell. Cute! Unfortunately, the leaves are still a bit stuck together, but I think that will sort itself out in the next few days. And so the first week comes to an end!

GreenOrganicGermany A new week begins! The little ones are still giving me a few minor problems. They are leaning to the side and can barely support their own weight. The stem of one lady, in particular, is unfortunately very weak. Overall, 2 of the 3 babies need support. I've now increased the light intensity to 100% and boosted the ventilation. This has gotten the little ones moving a bit more; I hope they become stronger soon. An update as of 09.06: Today I removed the supports. They can now hold themselves up on their own, which makes me very happy =D If they can get a bit thicker now, I'll be satisfied =D

GreenOrganicGermany And off we go... Today they had their first proper meal. I'm curious to see how they will develop in the coming days. It's getting a bit tight in my seedling box. On Wednesday, they will be moving. They need water every day, and now they are being fed with every watering. I've expanded the nutrient mix. They are now enjoying a mixture of 0.5ml Fish-Mix, 0.5ml BioGrow, and 0.5ml CalMag per liter. They should like that. One of the little ladies is and remains my problem child. Although her stem has become much stronger, she still seems overall weaker than the other ladies. Wednesday 15.06: Today is the big day =D They are moving into the bigger box along with their green buddies. A little earlier than expected, but there’s a long weekend with excellent weather ahead. I want to go fishing, plus concerts and so on... so there isn't too much time for the plants. That's why everything is being moved up a bit. The soil in the now 20-liter pots is homemade. The base consists of 100 liters of simple organic seedling soil from the discount store (Aldi). On top of that, there are 30 liters of coconut fibers, 10L of worm humus, about 5L of vermiculite, and 5L of perlite. Finally, 10L of mushroom compost, and it's all set. For safety, I inoculated the soil with nematodes. I coated the root ball of the little green lady with mycorrhiza powder before planting. As expected, the root ball of my problem child is not as well developed as the other ladies. Update on 16.06.2022: I made a little mistake! As mentioned, the roots of my problem child haven't grown as far as the other ladies. So far so good... Unfortunately, I didn't quite consider this while watering, and now the little one is overwatered. Very annoying! Fortunately, it's not too dramatic. I estimate she will recover in the next 1-2 days. All in all, my little green friends seem to have handled the move well! Keep your fingers crossed for her =D 17.06.2022: It seems my problem child is already recovering. So I can start the next week with a clear conscience =D Just before darkness, they received a foliar feeding from me. I used the BoomBoom Spray from BioTabs for this. I've had very good experiences with it. It helps to immediately counteract deficiencies and reduce stress.

GreenOrganicGermany Today marks the start of a new week. The last one was a bit problematic. Right after repotting, my air conditioning broke down. And right in the middle of a heatwave. This drove the temperature, as mentioned, up high. The little ones were really stressed and looked pretty rough. I treated them with a booster spray to counteract the stress. 20.06.2022: Today I decided to start with LST. I have a few days off, and I want to make the most of them since I won't have time later. Next week it might be a bit too late, so let's go! 22.06.2022: It was the right decision to start with LST. My ladies have gotten a growth spurt and are literally exploding right now. I'm thrilled! One of the beauties is even starting to show signs of nitrogen deficiency, as can be seen from the coloring of the lower leaves. To solve the problem as quickly as possible, I dissolved blood meal (1 teaspoon per 0.5 liters) in warm, chlorine-free water and enriched it with oxygen for a few hours. Personally, I really like using blood meal for immediate treatment of deficiencies, as it is processed very quickly by the microorganisms in the soil. I believe that an organic deficiency can only be resolved faster with foliar feeding. Otherwise, I'm very satisfied. The side branches are starting to stretch nicely and are slowly forming a beautiful canopy. 24.06.2022: They are growing and growing and growing. I'm more than satisfied. My problem lady also seems to be recovering very well. Top! 25.06.2022: As a little treat, there was a foliar feeding for the ladies just before darkness!

GreenOrganicGermany 11.07.2022: Today we’re starting the 2nd week of flowering! And slowly but surely, something is showing up 👀 The first signs of flowering are becoming visible. Of course, I’m happy 🤩 I’ve lowered the humidity to 55-57%, but the temperature is giving me headaches.... we’re riding a severe heatwave, which is definitely tough on my ladies. Even though they seem to be handling it a bit better than the Jack Herer lady, they are still quite stressed. Interestingly or frighteningly, I might soon need to use a humidifier during flowering to maintain a constant humidity level. We haven’t had rain for weeks, which is obviously affecting the overall humidity. 13.07: Today was top feeding day. For this, I’m using the tried-and-true Bat Guano from Royal Queen Seeds. Really good stuff! Very effective, odorless, and almost completely free of clumps. I’m giving 100ml for feeding, so about 80 grams on the soil surface and then carefully digging it in.
