Wish grow diaries had a section for organic nutrients and not just liquid. Anyway, excited for this one! My first ethos and she's supposed to be a real purdy one 😎
Going to try using earth dust amendments by The Green Sunshine Co. You start out by mixing their base formula to your soil. Right before flowering, you mix in their bloom mix. Let's see how it goes!
Started out in a shot glass full of distilled water in a dark/humid tent. After that, between a paper towel for another 24hrs. When I checked her, she'd popped. Went into the soil from there. Took two days to show green leaves. Everything seems normal and a-ok!
All is going well in her first week of life! Stays currently under an Hlg 100 rspec in my little 3x3. Once she gets a little bigger, I'll put her in the big tent.
She just gets water from my zero water pitcher from here on out!
Not much to report in this week. Looking healthy! I can usually tell if plants will be tall or not even when they're seedlings by how they grow at first. I bet she's gonna be tall.
Started lst as you can see in the pics. Will add photos as time goes on.
Only training the top bud site right now. As soon as the others catch up, they'll be tied down as well.
The directions for the earth dust, "boost" formula calls for 2tbs per gallon as a top dressing about a week from expected flowering. Since most of my autos flower around day 27, figured it was a good time. Let's see what happens. I top dressed on day 22 shortly before the 1st 4 photos of this week were taken.
Big news for this girl! She's becoming a woman lol. She started flowering this week.
I also top dressed this week using the green sunshine co's, earth dust. So far, she's looking healthy and I have zero complaints! Won't have to feed for another 30 days. Will post more as the week goes on per usual.
I noticed some leaves are dying off at the bottom of the plant. I also noticed some odd speckled spots on a couple of other leaves. I reached out to the Green Sunshine Co to get their opinion. I think it's too early for the plant to naturally consume itself.
Positive side is the rest looks healthy! Will update next week on what their diagnosis was.
Today marks day 47. I ended up talking to The Green Sunshine Co. They agreed with me and thought I should top dress early, before the 30 day mark. I just did so yesterday, day 46. I think I have one photo from that day of the top dress. Anyway, I am concerned about the yellowing. She's way to early for that to happen in flower naturally. Hopefully the feeding takes care of it.
Well today as I write this, it's day 55. I talked to the green sunshine co again and they didn't give me much guidance. Said it could be a natural fade, a deficiency, or excess of something. Kinda already knew that. Anyway, I'm just going to ride it out at this point. Bud areas of the plant seem to be ok. (For now) Still just getting water from a zero pitcher..
Well, today marks day 61. Ethos calls for 70-90 days from seed. She's definitely not ready yet but her leaf yellowing is working it's way around the plant. I still haven't decided if this is natural or deficiency. In any case, too late to do anything about it now. Let's see what happens!
Today marks day 68. Really trying to make it to at least 70 days.
Not happy with how the buds look. I think they're going to be airy crap. They don't feel hard enough to be done yet and the plant is quickly fading. She's doing that weird shooting pistils late in the game thing. Still not seeing any amber on the trichs by the receding pistils.
One of two things caused this.
Either moving them from the small tent into the bigger tent under the bigger light not only forced her into flower too early but also stunted her and caused her to become shocked...
Or
The Green Sunshine Co did not work as advertised.
Don't think I'll be able to figure out which scenario caused this but I won't be doing/using either again.
Well, the yield on this one was pretty weak. I chalk that up to stunting early on.
Flowers smell really good though. I'll be curious to see the thc results!
