We had approx 4 inches (10 cm) of rain this past week which is a lot for this area. Soil has a lot of moisture but not too wet. Excellent growth in veg stretching a fair bit and starting to show signs of early flower development. Preflowers have a bit of resin: smells quite skunky and a bit like burned rubber, or mercaptans/thiols. Need some sun and heat.
@NorthernChemist, generally yes that’s about the right time, but it did reach only +1 C overnight on June 1 here. For some autos that amount of cold when young will cause them too much stress and they dwarf. Autos are awesome here but timing is tricky.
@Northern_Ent, thanks man, around June 1 seems to be about the right time to place out for this area. A few tomatoe plants that weren't covered froze 😬
Nice, and you’ve harvested all four plants by mid-August which is good timing. This far North the sun gets weak quickly starting about now so it is the ideal time to finish. I harvested my first plants yesterday so I’ve got a ways to go. You’re welcome to come by and check it out again. Cheers.
