Bean planted in the hydroton. Sprouted in 2-3 days. Kept water touching the hydroton and wetted the Rockwool cube every other day for 1 week. No nutrients until week 2. Tap water, pH to 5.3-5.5
Filled up the bucket and added a low dose of nutrients, as this girl was ready to kickstart her life. Added half the recommended strength for seedlings, some mycorrhizae and oh the solution. Roots had started to reach the water by day 12 shown in the picture. I then went on vacation for 10 days and crossed my fingers she would be alive when I got back...
Holy $***.. not only did she survive, but turned into a beast!! I can hardly believe all this growth happened while I was gone and couldn't do anything... Barely any solution left when I got back, but it was enough to stay alive!! I got lucky.. another day and it would not have been good..
This girl is really taking off!! Started the transition stage nutrient schedule for the next two weeks. Still using a reduced strength but closer to 70% recommend. Some pistols here and there, but the veg growth is super impressive. Roots and trunk are massive!!!
Tied the top down this week and defoliated a pile of leaves. Now there is a super nice canopy and ready for some flowers to pop up! She keeps growing up and I'm happy, but running out of height! Good problems to have I guess!!
More defoliation and pruning was needed. We're coming out of the transition phase with buds beginning to form, so we switched to 75% strength bloom nutrients solution this week. She continues to drink lots of water and hopefully that will translate to some plump buds from this bush! Had to reconfigure and move the light up because of this girl. She was growing 1" a day and hopefully will slow down stretching. I'm really getting tight on vertical space now...
