Plant started taking off, going into overdrive and growing nicely!
Repotted into air pot to allow roots to get more oxygen. Blue cheese is plant on top step
2nd plant is a male white rhino (was not known at the time of taking the pic)
Week went well, had a few bug issues that resulted in using a sulphur based pesticide to get rid of spidermite issue that has haunted my grow space for a couple of years.
Used only one application to get rid of mites this week, let the application sit on plant for 5 hours before taking outside and rinsing plant off with hose.
Edit: 2nd plant was a white rhino seed from my indoor grow but turned out male.
Video and pics were taken at the end of the 9th week, I was away on holiday and let me brother-in-law do the honors of looking after this beaut!
Plant had performed a self-topping during my time away. It allowed for 2 colas to pop out from the top.
Had to spray some medicine again as there was a few bite marks from spidermites. May not get rid of em but can keep them at a lower number until harvest otherwise I would love to get rid of em but don't know the likelihood of that happening.
Currently in the tent at 12/12 light schedule and have the lights running at night so cold of the night doesn't stunt any growth.
This week saw an increase in flower sites and the start of the bud formation.
Really good to see her take her strides.
I have been mixing GHE Flora coco series and following dosage for 15L but using 20L of water so almost 3/4 of recommended dose and found that it was dialing in nicely.
Included calmag from GHE starting this week to give extra dose of calmag since growing under LED lights.
This week saw an influx of flower sites all over the plant, cannot believe how many flower sites this girl started yielding!
Did some HST previous week and had wrangled the stems to create knuckles by breaking cell walls and forcing them to become thicker.
Pics of recovery and knuckle forming.
Defoliated some of the bigger fan leaves, I know it may be risky technique but since she has grown into the tent, space is tight and in order to maximise flower sites, I decided to remove some foliage to get better coverage.
Flowering is taking off and have decided to increase the dosage of the nutrients to see if she can handle the feeding, she has grown quickly in the last couple of days and want to see if I can push her to the maximum.
Healthy and happy plants, no more issues with spidermites (Thank goodness!), no more needing to treat a flowering plant (if I had to, I would drench the plant in a mixture of H202, liquid dishwashing detergent and water to ensure that buds are not covered with nasty chemicals).
Clones have been taken and in this pic, can be seen that it has rooted, clones were taken off during defoliation session during 2nd week of flower.
Smell of terps is filing the air! Plant has gone in hard now with flowering!
Plant is starting bulk up and produce some nice sized colas. Sitting under 11 hours of light, switches off at 5 in the morning and in time for some colder temps to help push trich production, good idea for winter times in the southern hemisphere as keeping lights on during the night and off during the day certainly helps combat stunted growth due to cold weather.
Photos taken 26th May 2022.
This week I noticed that the plant is struggling with the amount of nutrients that I had supplied it with and decided to dial back on them to give her a chance to consume as much as possible.
She is growing strong and looks like she will be done soon, she should possibly take another 2 or 3 weeks before getting the chop, I may let her consume herself instead of pouring more nutrients, thinking of starting to add GHE Ripen to get her finishing faster.
This week I decided to use mother nature and let the cheese finish off outside, currently in winter in the Southern Hemisphere with good mild temps during the day and colder evening temps that should allow the plant to go into trich production over drive before I decide to chop.
Plant has been flushed as well in preparations of chop, I am torn between chopping her this week or next week, I do hope that the amber trichs don't come out all of s sudden and turn this grow into sleep medicine🤣🤣
I also have three clones left over that I am running in the tent on a 16/8 light schedule
Veg phase was amazing, plant grew vigorously and healthy, I did leave it in veg for longer than I would usually. The buds grew thick and very quick, it took 9 weeks to finish its flower cycle.
