Just received 2x clones. Moved them into 10l fabric pots and added additional substrate. Fan was moved up as to not incur wind burn. Only running on 100w for now.

Saturday: began lst with bonsai wire. Used a self tapper screw to make hole ls in my pot. Watered each plant 5.8-.9. Lowered light from 66 cm to 46cm. Did find one mouldy or rotten leave. Anomaly for now.

So excited about the growth and results of LST that I didn't even notice the yellowing of leaves beginning. I foolishly thought the red stems were also linked to the strains. Weather was extreme this week. Flooding everywhere in my city. Grow area was humid and cold (65 to 70% at 13 to 15c), tent was similar. Decided to buy a small PTC heater that wouldn't take too much electricity (400w) and place it by the induction hole/net to heat up and dry and the incoming air into the tent. It worked really well! VPD was sitting pretty but then I became restless about a heater staying on all the time. Found a Humidty and temperature controller locally the next day and wired my heater into the controller which would now act as my switch when the tent fell out of my parameters. Temp set to not go lower than 17 Humidity not to exceed 62% This has kept my tent consistently in the 18 to 23c range and humidity ranges from 50 to 62. Some days dont even need the heater at all. But my leaves really started to yellow and my stems have always been red. Bought a ppm meter and low and behold, my water was too soft and nit enough nutrients were being added for how big my plant is. I tested my Runoff and both plants were at 7.2ph, so my soil meter has been incorrect the whole time. Plan is to get the soil back in range of high 6's and then get back on nutes asap.

Despite nation wide power outages all week. Both ladies are looking much better than last week. Bought a mycelium bag since I will be flipping this week. Ready to flip as of 3/7. Switched from Biobizz Fishmix to BB biogrow. 24hr darkness from 3rd to 4th July then 12/12 lighting schedule.

Switched to flower lighting 12/12 Nutrients - biobizz fish mix was switched out for biogrow and biobloom at 1ml/l each. Calmag reduced to half/quarter size Plants recovered really well and are quite thirsty. 2l each, every second day. I will be defoliating the bottom third of the plants tomorrow to help with light penetration and humidity (which has increased slightly this week on average). Runoff still reading 7.2 despite dropping my solution pH from 6 to 5.7ish. Might be the calmag.

Stable week with plenty of stretch. Both plants look great. First signs of flower! Runoff is still 7.3. Just cant get it down even though I was watering at 5.6 -.7. Suspect it's the calmag and diatomaceous earth. Soil meter reads at 6.5 so not worried. Temps have not been very high. Average is 21 to 23

Girls are growing and showing really nicely for 3 weeks of flower. Smells now starting to eminate from both. The Sugarcane smells like passion fruit punch and the orange Velvet is still to complex to call but amazing nonetheless. Defoliated more. Didn't have a choice since the canopy was still so dense.

Exciting developments every single day. Whether it be bud bulking, extra thricome frost, pistil maturity or strong aromas, this week had it all. First week using 25l bucket for nutrient storage. Worked great! Water Temps down from 19 - 20 to 17ish but plants don't seem to care. Slowed down water intake rate to help absorbtion. OVU soil was running off too easily but after slowing down, minimal runoff and it retains moisture longer now. The Quantum board dries this plants soil out faster than the Sugarcane which is under a long strip style LED. Could be the far red diodes passing through the leaves and hitting the soil. Thus, I now water the top soil lightly in between watering days as to let it dry out completely. Installed a Garden Highpro carbon filter to my bathroom extractor because the smell is getting out of hand. Actually works perfect and the fan is still very effecient for my tent. Might need a second osc fan though. Picking up possible dead spots. PPm Runoff is on point. Issues: - Runoff pH continues to climb. Now at 7.5 - Stems very red despite my nutes having phosphorus in it and me supplementing with calmag.

Grow Questions
PitteJasKorels
PitteJasKorelsstarted grow question 3 years ago
My runoff PH keeps climbing despite lowering water pH. Plants look great but have red stems. Is it possible that the bottom of my fabric pots are saturated with excess Calcium and Diatomaceous Earth? Thus, raising my runoff PH. Soil meter reads 6.8 though 🤔

High PitteJasKorels, You need to flush your soil. The reason for this rising pH is actually really positive and normal for a healthy grow on soil. Your plants are eating the nutritiens really fast. As the plants absorb these nutrients through their root systems, the system slowly loses its acidity to become alkaline. You can do this flushing by slowly pour water pH 6 onto the top of the soil, allowing it to drain freely from the bottom of the pot. Pour slowly, so the water doesn't overflow from the top of the pot. Use approximately four times the pot's volume in water to flush the soil. For example, use 1 gallon of water for a 1 quart pot. After the flushing you need to let the soil (almost) dry out completely. And start watering with a max EC of 1.8 (do not give more because this will cause nutrients lockout). And keep the pH lower. The best would be around 6 then the pH from your soil will be slightly higher. Happy Growing! 😋

Stunning flavours and colours coming through this week. Swelling continues. The Sugarcane is simply spectacular in every way! OVU is smaller but smells even better. Really complex and deep citrus fruits. Defoliated and ran plain pH water twice this week.

A week of rippening; as smells and colours develop. Amazing seeing the 2 stains go their seperate ways. OVU is starting to look like actual oranges now lol and the fragrance is unreal. Sugarcane expressing more purple and sugarfrost this week too. Good thricome development this week. Straight water is imminent. Leaf tip burn is noted but other then that, a great week condition wise.

Fattening up some more. Both strians are very dense when squeezed. Wish I had better camera skills to articulate the late bloom differences. Plain pH water for the coming week. Amber thricomes are still far and few between.

Last week. Flushed with plain PH balanced water. No water 4 days prior to chopping. They weren't drinking much anyway. Amber thricomes showing on every kola. 5%. Defoliated with the missus and then chopped at 63 days of flower. Set tent to run cooler and upped the humidity threshold. Planning to dry for 10 days and then harvest.

I can't get over how good this strain smells. I would definitely grow it again and let it veg a bit longer to get over the 100g mark. Grown under 100w quantum board

This strain gave no issues whatsoever. Stunning in veg with its dark leaves and chocolate stems. Even more striking in flower and yield. Slow dry in for 16 days. Curing for 3 weeks
