Shaggy's Grow Caps Grow

These are some Jacky White (by Paradise Seeds) clones that I'll be using to test the Grow Caps sachets of feed. There's a Delahaze or two in there as well. They'll go from these 1 litre pots into 11 litre pots with the Grow Caps mix, in week 4. The media will be Canna Coco Pro plus & Perlite only. I'll pick five out of this selection for the test. They have rooted under a mixture of sun (on the window sill) and HPS light - it is not possible to reflect this in the options above so note to yourself that this is an indoor/outdoor grow using sunlight & HPS light.

I have chosen the five Jacky White clones/seedlings (seeds originally by Paradise Seeds). Some of the clones are the top of the pruned branch, some are the bottom of the pruned branch and thus effectively have already been topped. They're between 8-12cm at the end of week 4. They were started off in 1 l pots, and are now into 11 l pots with 10 l of media mixed with a sachet of Grow Caps. My light schedule (duration, light type; distance, etc) cannot be reflected above as they're sometimes on the window sill enjoying the sun, or in the HPS tent when the sun is not out/ at night. The media is Canna Coco Pro Plus (40%); Tropic Bat Mix (30%), and Perlite (30%). Grow Caps site says 2g/l of Grow Caps is required, so if the sachets are for 11l pots, mine have 2.2g/l as it was mixed with 10l of media. I'll be watering with aired tap water only. 11l pots weight 3.1kg when plants just transplanted into them, with no watering. This is the base weight and the plants will not be watered until they get below this weight. Dry weight will be about 2.50-2.75kg, which is when I look to water.

Week 5 and the plants have shrunk. That's because I have super-cropped them (or whatever it's called), ie, bent the plant over from the middle severely by squeezing the main stem. Jacky White stretches A LOT, so the lower the plant, the better. The off-shoot stems from the main stem get to about a metre in length from past experience. Also, this is my first super-cropping attempt. The smaller potted plant was bent over last night and has already started turn up. The others, just before there photo's where taken on day 35. They get 6 hours of sunlight and 12 hrs of 1100 HPS light a day.

They're doing surprisingly well considering it was my first attempt at super-cropping the main stems. These are clones, so the stems are quite hard, which, apart from me being ham fisted, might be why they spit a lot. The girls held up well though and they're creating knuckles on the bend/break and lots of shoots are at very similar highs now as I had hoped. I've now got on average 8-10 potential colas and not 2-3. Fingers crossed. Very little liquid as their pots are quite big so will hold a lot for their relative size.
