Added maybe a quarter of a gallon or a fifth of a gallon of of Fox Farm Big Bloom this week at a strength of 1 tsp/gal, which ended up being a huge mistake. I don't know if my plant is getting nute burn from the Fox Farm Ocean Forest soil or from the added nutes, but leaves especially toward the bottom are turning yellow and crispy if not falling off altogether. From what I read, there is not much that can be done about nute burn in the vegetative state, other than doing a flush, measuring pH, adjusting pH, etc. but quite frankly I don't want to have to buy all the stuff to have to do that. I didn't buy pH'ed soil so I would have to check pH every day, it shouldn't be that hard to grow a WEED! I read about "runoff" although every time I water the plant there is no water coming out of the bottom. Don't know if that's because it is a fabric pot, because it has 5 gallons of soil, or because I'm not giving it that much water. It has been VERY humid out lately. Mushrooms are popping up all over my yard, so I suppose the weather lately would be a magic mushroom grower's dream! It is week 6 and still all the plant has is 3-leaf shoots, which seems uncommon since most of the other autoflowers I see around this age have 5-finger and/or 7-finger shoots. Also there are no signs of flowering yet, which I suppose is a good thing considering how small it still is. Despite what looks like nute burn (which may or may not be a big deal in the vegetative stage, depending on who I ask) and the plant being relatively small, it is still alive, and for that I am grateful! What I might try for future seeds/seedlings is using a different type of soil. I read that Fox Farm Ocean Forest can be "hot", so it might be killing my seedlings before they even have a chance. I ordered some Fox Forest Happy Frog to try instead for new grows based on reviews of it being less "hot" and more "airy", so we'll see how that goes.

Forgot to mention that the name for the diary is because MSNL sent the Auto Widow and Auto Pineapple Kush for free with my order of Auto Northern Lights. Ironic that the Northern Lights were the ones to not germinate. We'll see if scarification helps.

I think you were trying to add comments to your diary. But instead you asked a question. Go to your diary, select the week you want and in the center you will see a grey "Edit Week" button. When you click on that you can scroll down and modify your comments. Good luck and Happy Growing

The auto widow circular leaves are curling at the tips and the tips are turning brown, and one of the pineapple kush auto circular leaves is not only brown at the tip but looks like about a third of it on the end is gone. See photos. What might be going on and what can I do?

heat is too much for them. shade them with a cloth until they get a little root system going.

Lower leaves are still turning yellow/brown. See photo. A couple weeks ago I got a greenhouse to protect the plant from the rain. Outside temperature has been lower and there hasn't been much sun (mostly clouds) so I don't think heat is a problem anymore. Don't know the pH. Help!

Okay so the answer here is you have nutrition burn. Brown tips that curl up is burn. So i think it goes deeper then just tok much nutrition. Shot In the dark here, but you are not getting sufficient run off. 20 to 30 percent of liquid in needs to come out bottom. Measure this water for ph as well. Without run off if you are adding nutrients it causes a build up of salts from applications. This build up will cause deficiency and nute burn at same time. It will effect the ph in soil is what does it all. Good luck 🌱

Is it bud rot? I thought white widow was mold-resistant. See photos. Need to know ASAP because tomorrow I'm going out of town for 3 days so need to know whether to chop this or not. It has been humid outside lately but also hot, and the pant gets plenty of wind.

Noticed another brown spot on a bud on my plant, perhaps not coincidentally after a couple days of rain. Bud rot AGAIN?! Can an autoflower in flowering stage get enough sunlight being indoors in front of a window? Worried that this is going to keep happening if I keep it outside.

If it is a window that gets direct sunlight for 6-10 hours straight, possibly. I've never tried it, honestly. You might need to get a full-spectrum LED as some backup light on cloudy/rainy days. But, you can get 50w-100w ones for really cheap these days. Under for a 100w. Good luck!

Would you say the trichomes are CLEAR? I don't have a jeweler loupe, so these are taken from my phone with 10x magnification. If clear, NOT milky/white, then I probably have a few more weeks left till harvest time.

Hi there From what i can make out on the pictures they look mainly clear, Really you want to get yourself a jewellers loupe with at least 40-60x zoom it will make things so much more easy for you 👍 Best of luck 🌱

Looks like you need some help. Germination, what has been working for me. Drop seed in glass of water about 12 hours. Then move to a wet paper towel. Keep it in the dark. Make sure the paper towel is not soaking wet. You just want it damp. Then keep your eyes on it. Don't let it dry out, Make sure to keep it damp. It should pop with in 24 hours. Your plant is 1 skinny chicken. I think your light source is too far away. Looks like your plant is stretching. Also sounds like you may have nuked your plant with too much nuits. You can try flushing it. Add a lot of water and see what happens. Let me know how you make out. Hit me up with any questions. Oh 1 other thing. Get some peat pucks. Make them damp but not soaking wet. Put your germinated seeds in those until they break ground. Then plant the puck. Keep damp not soaking wet.

@Pjm70, thanks so much for your help! It's my first grow so any advice is appreciated. The challenge lately is I've been getting and reading a lot of conflicting advice. Hopefully these pictures and my narrative helps. Generally, germination has gone well. It has only been the northern lights auto seeds that have not germinated, so I think they were damaged in transit from the seedbank to my home. All the others pop taproots in 72 hours in less. The next challenge is most of them are dying in the soil before rising above it. I only gave the plant nutes 2 days last week and at 1/3 the recommended strength, but after I noticed the yellow tips and curling I stopped. Yesterday morning I added about 1/5 gal of water to try to help flush it out. Should I add more? Don't want to risk over-watering it since that seems like a common problem. The light source is the sun, so can't really adjust that. After the seeds germinate I have been putting them outside directly in their final pots because I read that autoflowers don't like to be transported. Thanks for the suggestion of the pucks, I'll try that!

Yes just noticed your outside. I grow outside also. If it's hot out try not giving them full sun for the first few days. You may have a bad batch. Are you letting the tap root get like a half inch long before planting. I use 207 genetics. So far all their seeds have been good.

DegenMJcommented2 years ago
@Pjm70, no I typically plant right as I notice the taproot poking out of the seed. Sometimes it barely is. Should I wait till half an inch before planting instead?

Pjm70commentedweek 62 years ago
They should be inside until they break ground. Keep them moist not soaking wet. The pucks will help keep the moisture up. They need that

@Pjm70, thank you, will try that!

If your in a fabric pot it's hard to drowned them. Especially if you're growing outside. Good luck
