Taming Unicorns

Fist week of veg in the books and all of em look pretty primed to grow. We’ll see where they’re at in a week. Hopefully irrigation frequency is on point and we don’t run into any deficiency issues. So far all are very healthy👌. Background I’m killing a few birds with one cycle here. Got some famed breeder strains to show off - genetics that we just haven’t gotten around to growing successfully. Details as follows; Outlaw Seeds - Muffin Berry Why these guys aren’t listed on GD is surprising to me. All the hallmarks of a budding quality breeder from what he read although, I admit, this is our first go in real time. Just another addition to the berry strains as we continue our everlasting quest to find that “best berry” of them all.👍 AMS - Pineapple Express Great co. And I’ve got a full stable of their genetics kicking off this year. This strain has been a massive unicorn for us in the past and I still have yet to see one flower out to the finish proper. Can’t wait to see what this one does. The reviews have been terrific so 🤞. OSS - Banana Sherbet A kick in freebie that came with 2 other strains by OSS. Proven and reliable breeder with excellent hybrid combos. I expect this banana sherbet to be no different and early signs are that she’ll be one of the strongest👌. AMS - Ghost Train (clone) Another unicorn that we’ve had issues with. Our outdoor plant that was supposed to be an auto and turned out to be a photo. Unlikely with the typical fall weather that she’ll see harvest so this is an opportunity to take a cut and possibly salvage that grow. Really looking forward to this one for sure. They’ll all sit in bucket company bags and containers and we’ll be irrigating on drip lines with fewer plants than usual in this space. Hopefully we don’t run into any deficiency issues given that these buckets are a slight detraction from our typical dutchies. Only time will tell, here we go again👍🤞.

Week 2 in the books here and all is still Lookn good. Should be coming up on fim day pretty soon so that we can better manage plant heights through the stretch. Don’t expect to take much more than another week or so before we make the flip to flower. The Ghost Train clone is still fighting for roots so we’ll likely wait and see based on this cut. Week 3 of veg. And this will be the last of it. We fim’d em all this week and they came through it great. We also defo’d pretty significantly about 2/3 days before flipping to flower and then spread out the mains as best as possible. We’re gonna have a monster harvest with the 3 seeds 100%. They’ll bucket system seems to agree with them for sure👌. The Ghost Train clone is still lagging behind somewhat and just seems like it can’t get its legs. We’re starting to see new growth now but it’s been very slow. Either way, can’t wait on just this one plant and gotta keep moving forward. Bring on the flower show - this run should be damn good👌👍. Not much to show here post-fim and flip. They all recovered nicely and bushed substantially during this week. Split the nute ratio as per usual with a 50/50 veg/flower mix and have everything a very light defo and cull. Just to keep the mains we want and clip out severely mottled leaf tangles and sucker branch lowers. Everything else stays to serve the needs of the plants. Alls we’ll heading into full flower👍. Week 2 of transition in the books and the plants are looking great. The fim really knocked em all down quite well. Despite their short stature, the stalks are ncresibly thick and strong. Development is perfect as we move in to full flower. The Ghost Train clone just didn’t have a good enough rooting. While she’s still alive and trying to flower herself, it’s be silly to keep it as she isn’t going to do much of anything. Is what it is. Conditions weren’t ideal for a clone. Guess we’ll just have to settle for the giant mother plant on the back deck😉. Nute ratios will be moving over to the full bloom mix in short order I would think. They’re all due for another last big defo to clear out the knarled leaves. After that, it’s likely just minor pruning as we watch the buds develop. Week 3 of transition in the books and this week they all got a strong defo. The SnapBack was quick and they’re hitting full stride now. That said, they are all growing in a squat and controlled manner. Certainly been low maintenance so far 👍. Short on close ups this week - sorry. Alls good move’n to full flower👌. Week 4 of flower in the books and all continue to progress heartily. The Pineapple Express has emerged as the strongest of the bunch. The banana sherbet in close second. The sherbet has two pronounced polyploidal branches and the pistils are creating one helluva Mohawk. The merry berry is the laggard if you want to call it that but, really, a very strong seed as well. These 3 are Gina be fantastic at the finish - you can simply already tell👍. Week 5 of flower in the books and they’re all stalky and extremely strong as bud development progresses. Significant frost development over this week across all as well. Only real update for the week is the grow system. Had a small but managed issue with 2 of the buckets due only to clogging of the drainage hole by the roots. It could’ve been a lot worse if not for the drainage table and runoff line. Simply can’t escape it - my system is def better for this reason alone but I have yet to find a viable and lasting 1 gal option. Alas, the bucket co. Has still proven its worth as a reliable and sturdy grow system. Alls generally good and look’n forward to the finish on these girls.👌 Background I’m killing a few birds with one cycle here. End of week 6 and bud growth continues to swell. They’re all really rounding out now. Still a few weeks to go but alls running well and without issue. The Pineapple Express is out in front as the largest and frostiest, the banana sherbet comes second but only just barely. Week 7 in the books and this whole cycle has been just flawless👌. All 3 plants are of excellent stock with buds that are covered in frost with rock hard density. The banana sherbet doesn’t look as though it will last much longer than another week. The Merry Berry is quickly rounding out also. Think the Pineapple Express will wanna go a little longer. Either way - trich. Watch is on and it won’t be much longer before they all come down. Mad props to all 3 of these breeders - just fantastic beans here🤟👌👌. Week 9 of flower and these are almost at the finish line. They’ve all bulked up and rounded out nicely and density is good across all three. We did run in to some advancing botrytis on the Merry Berry and Banana Sherbet which is a shame - probably lost about an oz across both and some really nice tops.
