Transplanted my girl into her final pot- 5gallon fabric. Did some more LST, she is branching out like a star, short and wide. Going to let her grow for 2-3 weeks with leaving her alone, just going to give cal-mag ph water and feed 1x a week with 50% strength of recommended nutrients. After 2 3 weeks of growing will top again, I really want to fill out my scrog when I add it in a few weeks

Hey there, When would be the best time to top my plant to promote that new branch growth? I've seen and heard many different opinions on this so some clarity would help. Thank you in advance

You want to have at bare minimum 4 nodes before you contemplate topping a photoperiod (and don't EVER contemplate topping an autoflower!). General rule of thumb is when the plant has 4-6 nodes. Good luck!

What is the general consensus about allowing your plants have both artificial light with some direct sunlight as well? I put my plants on the window ledge to get 4-6 hiurs of direct sunlight, they literally explode with growth and thickness everytime I do this. I live 18th floor

Yes, it is done all the time. Supplemental lighting is used in greenhouses to increase crop production during time periods with low levels of solar radiation. These time periods usually occur during the winter months, but cloudy summer days can be as dark as some of the darker winter days.

I keep getting a cal-mag deficiency. I have been using 1ml per liter of water - 4ml roughly per gallon. It is only 1 plant, the same which has had the same cal-mag issue since early veg. I include cal-mag every watering and nutrient feed day. You can see images for reference

Just giving calmag doesn't make a calcium deficiency go away... you've got to correct what caused it in the first place .... for this little one, I believe it's caused by a nitrogen toxicity as your pH (which can be another cause) seems to be spot on. Once you get a lockout, you can give the plant the whole bottle of calmag and the plant won't be able to get it - because it's "locked out" ... So you've got to flush this plant. For you, growing in 5 gallon pots, that means running 15 gallons of pH'd water through her to get rid of the built up nutes and salts... into the final gallon, put half strength nutes... BUT I think you're overdoing the Flora Micro which has an NPK of 5-0-1 - NOT the NPK you want or need when in flower as it's VERY heavy on nitrogen.... so stop giving this nute at all to her (and I would suggest you at least cut down on it with your other plants in the grow). Plants in flower need a little bit of nitrogen but not much - and your other nutes are giving some to her... but the Micro is overloading her. After you flush, let her then dry out before resuming your water/feed/water/feed routine (minus the Micro!) .. things should get better. And btw, only give calmag once a week... not every time you feed! That can lead to still other problems! :-D The leaves that are damaged now will not be repaired so don't expect that... and you may see some residual signs of the deficiency show up in other leaves but it shouldn't be as bad as it is in these leaves.. and new growth should see no damage ... Good luck!

I am having trouble identifying if this is a lockout or lack of nutrients. I was told to stop flora micro. I have been giving 50% strength of what the bottle suggests. My other plant same tent just had a lockout and I flushed.

My question was around what power % I should have my lights at? My light is 300watts so I am assuming 50% = 150watts? Is this enough to continue vegging my plant? I have noticed the growth isn't as vigorous.

As long as the plants aren't stretching and becoming floppy, they are getting enough light. To answer your question, i would start increasing the intensity of the light a week or two before you flip the plant into flower. Then, gradually pump the intensity up to 100% during flower. It will harden your plant to increased light intensity and could help prevent light stress and light bleaching. I hope this helps.

First two weeks, keep going with grow nutrients......cannabis still needs adequate nitrogen in early flower. Second two weeks, half grow and half bloom. After this, just bloom nutrients until harvest maturity. I have been doing this for 30+ years and swear by its effectiveness.

I just changed the light cycle to 12/12 - My leaves are fading to yellow, at first just new growth but I see it on the older fan leaves as well. I did give them a flush and only ph balanced water for a week and a half. Also, just gave nutrients(50% strength ) 5 days ago

After looking through your diary. You are a bit low on feed. (Ppm wise) Up it to 600 and push to 7 if needed. But the way you doing now is fine. I don't really see her wanting much. So no full strength feeds. Once given, can't be taken back. But if needs a little you can give. Always best for it to be wanting a little than giving it a lot. Much easier to fix the issue. U going about it great though. Just up the grow + B a little to bring up your ppm to around 700 (including ambient tap) Good luck

How frequent should I give me plants nutrients? I usually give 50% strength 1x each week on Wednesday. I also water with just plan ph balanced water every 2-3 days. I do this to avoid burn or lockout.

You've got powdery mildew - a direct result of the humidity being FAR too high... There are any number of remedies that you can find if you do a search for them but the DIY with milk or the like aren't terribly effective. This has the potential to kill your grow within a matter of days so get on it... and get that humidity into the 40s, tops.... Good luck....

Hey Growmie, If you have mites you'll start seeing bronze- or yellow-colored spots on the plant leaves. You may find that the underside of your plant leaves is discolored or that the leaves have small holes. Another early sign of spider mites is finding webbing on the leaves and stems of your plants. If the plant does have spider mites you're going to want to get it away from any other plant so they don't get them, if you caught it early the plant should be able to be saved. But I'm not going to lie it looks more like a deficiency than a spider mite infestation.

She is hungry, My guess is you have a nuturent(salt) buildup causing a lockout. Could also be your PH is out of range but soil is very forgiving as long as your putting the correct PH into the soil. Just looking at your pictures Im guessing the cause of the buildup is from 2 things. 1. Not watering/feeding with runoff( 1/3 should runoff). So if you water 3L of water you should have 1L drip out the bottom. 2. Letting the plant sit in runoff. You should elevate your potters a bit so they don't sit in the runoff because this will cause a salt buildup. To test for to much food or lockout. Your next watering or feed. collect the LAST bit of runoff and compare it's PPM to what your feeding. If its dramatically different then you need to adjust your feed accordingly. If the PPM's are high( PPM + half the amount your feeding.example 800ppm comes out at 1200( 800+400) then you want to do a flush( no more feeding just water until runoff gets back into range) If the PPM's are even higher then that you might want to consider a HARD flush. Add PH water to saturate it and wait 30 min to let the salts break down a bit. Then continue to add water until your PPM's get back into range. ****Warning Hard flush is risky in soil. You can wash away all the good microbes in your soil and cause more harm then good. Soft flushes take longer but are a lot safer. Your using synthetic nutrients so its not as risky as an organic grow. Lastly if the PPM's are lower then you have a hungry girl and should increase your feed with that one. Also check your runoff PH and adjust your water accordingly. But never adjust out of range (6.0-7.0). Always keep the water going in within range and

@NPKGuy, not sure brother. I really want to fill the tent out end to end and get rid of the lockout on one plant and other issues with the other plant too. Maybe another 3 weeks from now, I am not in a rush and want to be patient to ensure I get good results. I am training low, I've read these girls tend to stretch
