1st time indoor grow. 1 previous outdoor grow. Pre-charged coco perlite 70/30 mix with 12ml hy-gen cornucopia coco grow and 12ml rhizotonic. seed germinated fairly quickly using paper towel method. may do a light feed in a couple of days. first 2 days were under veg lights of viparspectra 450w led, running full spectrum for the rest of the grow.
she's moving along nicely I think. starting to adjust pH from 8 to ~6.5 when watering. she seems pretty healthy aside from slight warping of the older leaves, i don't know whether genetic or pH related.
into the 4th week now and progress is slow but steady. she's a lovely green colour and seems pretty healthy so I've been reluctant to give her more nutes than she might need. she's still quite squat but she's doing well. i started some basic lst on her to get the side branches growing out a bit more. some days she gets 24 hours of light including around 3 hours of sunlight plus under LED
day 29, 4 weeks old now, 2nd day of the 5th week. she's progressing pretty steadily, hopefully has a growth spurt over the next couple of weeks. a couple of spots on leaves (in photo 3) not sure what they're from. I am considering topping or fimming in next couple of days but not sure yet if I will.
getting some decent growth at the moment. just bent her main top over to get a slightly more even canopy and increase the number of tops. flowering has started at a small number of bud sites.
Middle of 7th week she developed symptoms of nitrogen toxicity plus what I think is magnesium and calcium deficiency. I flushed and gave a dose of Cal Mag so hopefully she will correct herself. the lst has made her very bushy. she's still quite short but now has many tops. I may need to defoliate a small number of fan leaves to improve light penetration to some bud sites.
day 57, start of week week 9. The mag deficiency stabilised for a few days and then came back again. will do another flush and give Epsom salt. I'm continuing lst to keep a relatively even canopy and pulling braches outwards so she isn't so bushy. flowering is starting to come along alright and trichomes are appearing.
I've been away for a week, she has some pH issues plus she is definitely hungry. I've given her a feed and hope to see her bounce back next week and continue building her buds
hey guys sorry about the missed update - over the last 2 weeks she continued suffering from deficiencies. I gave her extra pk, calmag plus the normal bloom nutes etc but couldn't clear up the damage that had been done. despite the deficiencies, the buds have been fattening up nicely (and starting to smell better too). Majority of trichomes are cloudy and today I've started flushing. will be chopping in 5 days or so
this grow was a big learning experience. it was my first time growing indoors and first time doing lst. low stress training worked a treat with the plant and my set up. this grow was quite challenging for me in terms of dealing with deficiencies but I have learnt a lot.
harvested on day 92. i'm very satisfied with the final product - 48g of buds which turned out pretty dense and plenty of trichomes. It didn't get the super pungent smell I was expecting - possibly due to some of my own errors in growing although the smell is still decent and improving with curing. overall this was a great grow, thanks for following.
These are looking great so far, keep up the good work! Also I would try your hand at fimming/topping, it makes the plant bushier and will make more tops in flower. You could also try low stress training, that does the same thing but without the added stress.
thank you, yes I would've topped or fimmed if there was more rapid growth before she started flowering but I'm doing some low stress training on her now so we'll see how she goes
i also have that problem, also only girl scout cookies from fastbuds, it has that spots on, maybe a calmag deficiency, i have girl scout and gorilla glue, exact same feeding, only girl scout does that
Ph 8.0 is too bad. Max 6.8. Day temp 26-30. Girl Scout Cookies feel great even with 31C temp. Keep night temp 5 degrees lower than day temp. Get lamps 30-40cm under plants.
