Summer Of Soil Tent 2

Here is my grow method. Germination starts in 4" nursery pots filled with Recipe 420 Soil. I sow the seeds directly into the soil after I have wet the soil. Cover with a dome and wait 2-3 days. I use this soil only for the germination and seedling stage. Check out weeks 1 and 2 for seedling growth with Recipe 420 Soil. No nutrients at all are added at this stage and the seedlings get 6.5 ph'd water only. Root growth is rapid. At 14 days the seedlings are transplanted into 5 gallon fabric pots filled with Fox Farms Ocean Forest Soil, 1/2 cup Dr Earth All Purpose 4-4-4, and 3/4 cup Dr Earth Flower Girl 3-9-4. The plants are topped at the 4th or 5th node on day 14. They are topped again on day 20 and the final topping happens on day 26. This creates 8 mains and allows for these 6 plants to fill out the tent. Veg is 42 days from the seedling breaking through the soil. 12/12 is initiated on day 43 and the plants are defoliated weekly. All growth below the 8 mains is stripped away. The 8 mains will throw off their own branching to help fill out the tent. The plants get 6.5 ph'd water until harvest. No other additives or nutrients are used. Notes: Fox Farms Ocean Forest Soil is ph balanced. I still advise that you ph your water each time. I do not add mycorrhizae. The Fox Farms Ocean Forest Soil and both Dr Earth organic dry amendments contain copious amounts of mycorrhizae. Do not let the soil dry out as the microbial activity will come to a halt. Always water as soon as the top layer dries. I water about every 2-3 days in veg and every day in flower. This formula has resulted in extremely healthy and vigorous plants. This method is all natural and is my favorite formula for killer homegrown cannabis. If I encounter pests I use dish soap/water only as a foliar spray and then wash the plants with plain water after 30 min. Once flower starts I let the plants defend themselves.
