1 of 2 plants for first indoor grow. She's had a slow start due to rookie error, didn't pre-charge coco-perlite (70/30 mix) and didn't have seedling under LED until day 4 above ground. So far have fed twice with 4ml Hy-gen cornucopia coco grow and 4ml rhizotonic each time. will give another light feeding in a day or two. hopefully she gains momentum and grows a decent amount over next few weeks.
she's really started moving over the last 5 days and she seems to be doing ok. she's still pretty small so I'm hoping for another 2 weeks of solid growth before she starts to flower.
I haven't been adjusting pH of tap water for watering which sits around 8 and the coco medium is somewhere around 7. She hasn't responded negatively to the higher pH but I'll be aiming to get the pH of water down to 6 for future waterings. changed lighting schedule from 20/4 to 22/2. Overall she's moving along nicely and no signs of pre-flower yet.
Day 34 update, got the first sign of pre-flower today
start of wk7 at day 43, she's continued to stretch but as you can see in the photos, her leaves are not a deep green colour and I think she needs nitrogen. at day 44 she hasn't been watered or fed in a few days as the coco perlite is taking about 5 days to dry out between waterings/feedings.
I have included a couple of photos of burn marks on the leaves, if you think you know what it is then let me know. I don't know if they are nutrient burn/spilled nutrient/magnesium deficiency etc.
Also, I started some basic lst on her to pull out some of the side branches.
day 48 update: ive uploaded 3 more photos. she grew a couple of inches in the last 4 days to 13.5 inches. the spots on the leaves haven't worsened but the older leaves could still be more green. bud sites are developing.
This week she's begun to show some lovely trichome production and she's starting to produce a nice smell. Overall she's doing alright despite continued nitrogen deficiency. I'm upping the nitrogen next feeding and also upping the bloom nutes plus adding some Epsom salts. Looking forward to the bud sites fattening up over the next few weeks.
we are now into the 10th week and this plant is coming along quite nicely. nice bud production and lovely smell. she's also showing hints of purple which is cool. p.s. sorry I missed our week 9 update, had some things going on. can't wait for this to baby to finish!
I haven't started the final flush yet because I feel like she may need at least a week more until harvest and I want to do a 5-7 day flush - majority of trichomes are still clear, almost half are milky and almost no amber.
next update will be at harvest :)
been flushing for one week now and shes continued to turn a lovely purple with some nice fade colours. a couple of amber trichs have appeared and I'll give her the chop in a couple of days
harvested on day 93. was a good growing experience and overall i'm happy with this strain. however, lost 2 stars due to the bud development. she ended up only producing 3 dense nugs. the rest of the buds were more airy/leafy - fortunately she has a lot of sugar leaves loaded with trichomes which will be great for making oil. harvest was 28g plus 15g of sugar leaf trim. she smells really good, even after less than 2 weeks curing. the smoke is good - the high creeps up on you and hits you for a short time before putting you in a nice relaxed state.
well here's what i am thinking nutrient deficiencies and here is why ; you are going organic so it a bit more complex you growing in coco ok but coco is a empty medium so you put some rizobacteria to transforme the organic nutrient so your plant can absorbe it because as you know organic nut have to by broken down by the rizo or else is can't absorbe it (this is the big deference between organic and no-organic) so.. i think two possibilities 1 you are watering whit regular water and regular water has chlorine in it and that kills your rizobacteria. or you dont have enough rizobacteria. ether way i thinks the problem comes from the nutrients not being broken down by the rizo so your plant can't access it .. quick solution do a feed of none organic nutrient and then build back your rizo colony good luck my friend
Same thing happened to me on my northern soul was going too low on ph once checked everytime yo make sure at 6.4 the plants came alive.. Always check phone even double check.. Happy growing friend looks good
Congratulations on the harvest mate. Sorry to read that you were not to pleased with Some of the flowers due to there structure but other buds developed nice and dense. That's strange mate.
Were the more airy flowers lower down on the plant? and not getting enough light exposure?
I'm glad you have had fun this grow mate and we have thoroughly enjoyed watching the show 👊
Enjoy your Dinafem harvest my friend 👍
All the best ✌️
Mark.
thanks for following the diary Mark ☺️ the dense buds were from the top and airy buds from below.I'm not too sure but I think it probably comes down to nutrients, and maybe lights. first time indoor and using led and it would probably be a good idea to lst/top next time for better light exposure. at the end of the day I'm not upset because the bud/leaf is covered in trichomes and smells good. I'll keep the best nugs to smoke and the rest of the bud and the trim will be great for making into oil. I would definitely give this strain another go in the future though
70 days in and the harvest window is approaching fast 👍
