Here we go again! 3rd times the charm!
Really took my time to get this tentful going, but i have learnd from past mistakes that its way better to have the seasonal warmth in the beginning, then at the end of the grow. Plants grew way better when you start later in the spring then from the earliest non-freezing degrees when tent wont reach 25c+ temps.
My harvest from previous grow is running now very very low, low in like "i've been on plain leafes for already a month or so", but even those still do the trick and keep me off the meds.
So now, now was the time to throw in last of the seeds i had from before; for this tentful i'll throw in just seeds from Royal Queen Seeds, as before (check my previous grow, got time lapse videos and all that kinda stuff in it)
As i didn't have so many options left, i threw in the 4 pots an combo of 2x RQS Northern Lights Auto (freebies from ordering CBD strains) and 1x Purplematic and 1x Solomatic.
So yea, im still going CBD heavy and the reason for the whole "hobby" is basicly my own health/mental health, and on the mental side this really does do me wonders, especially on the social anxiety / covid and such.
Gladly i still have some (like 2-3 servings) RQS Stress Killer left, but that is saved just for certain days, i liked it the most from last grow and would say that the RQS Watermelon was a runner-up at 2nd place.
Setup is still the same, so also this tentful will be done with;
Watering system ;
Autopot, in beginning added water from top, to keep soil more moist for germination period (RH ~55%+)
Got "Bubbler" / airstone system inside the water container, to keep the water moving, helps to blend in nutrients, which i still havent started. As that wouldn't really make any difference yet.
Lightning system ;
MarsHydro, two different sized lamps, bigger with adjustment.
Will have to measure Lux amount to see if i have to adjust the hanging level / lower my lamps as they are at highest setting now.
Tent & Peripherals;
SecretJardin HS120, good bang for your buck.
Some random groving meter combo, which i took other metesr away from except RH, i think it had clock and temp also or such.
Then i got my Temp meter which shows date/time/temp/temp-by-wire, and the wire i have at my lamps / hottest part of the tent, so i can follow temp at plant level and also at the "technical side of tent" (obviously on top)
Got one normal indoor fan to blow air around the tent.
And then the camera systems for remote observation of water tank (to know when i have to visit growsite) and another camera for the tent itself from which i can follow the plants / tent information.
Air system ;
Have one inline fan working as good as it can, got coal filter at the end of the line inside the tent, and the other end of the line goes all the way outside.
"Growing plan" ;
I think ill skip any LST or FIM-topping, as in last grow i tested both and the result was 'bout the same with autos.
I would say my tactic is the "just give them what they need and not to mess with em too much".
Then the diary itself ;
#-4 21.7. seeds directly to soil
#1 26.7. 1st RQS-NLauto emerging (left up)
#2 27.7. 2nd RQS-NLauto emerging also (right up), and maybe a 3rd one too (right down)
(cant remember which was in which pot at "lower" pots, have labels in the tentand will check em when im closer by.)
#3 28.7. 3rd one really confirms itself now, so still waiting for the 4th. If i would have to guess, left one is solomatic and right one is purplematic, solo was slow, very slow last time too.
One plant is coming after the others as it was planted few days after the ones popped up.
Added some dry soil on top to make it less wet at surface level.
Lowered the lamps and turned on the bigger lamp also.
Watered about a dl from above, each plant.
Outside temps are having making me to keep the lamps higher up, will hit 30c+ if i lower the lamps, opened up the side "valve" of the tent a bit to let more fresh/cooler air in.
Otherwiset its been a steady ride as always, cant be bothered to be thinking 'bout PH or tds and so on.
next week
Might do a PH test
Most like will start adding additives to the water container to promote root growth etc.
(Edit: Added pics for all other days also)
20# 14.8.
-Started with Nutes
-Lowered power in right side lamp, to see if it would help with the temps.
But then again, i think the heat is gonna end up next week anyway so im sure they dont enjoy the current temps, but whats couple more days.
27.8;
Turned lights to max (at same height)
Added nutes accordingly and filled the watercontainer with 30liters of water (matched nute amounts to added water)
Swapped NL1 and NL2 places, as the other one was bigger then the other, to see if it matters where the plants are in the tent.
Thinking 'bout swapping also the cbd's at the front, but still decided not to, as their size doesnt really concern me so much, they will grow up, just wait ;)
Will have to check the PH levels next week, if the plant color wont improve after nutes.
As the temps outside has now fallen greatly, feom day time 30 to night time 0, so has the temps inside the tent gone from 28 to 21 so it was time to shut off air intakes and lower the lamps to get the temps back up, went from about 21 to about 26
3.9.
lowered the lamps to get more heat to plants.
closed of all air-intakes
rqs purplematics are starting to attain color as they go further in to bloom
#45 7.9.
Cut some leafs, turned left most prplmatic a round 45degrees
Noticed small flies/etc have moved in to pots when watered from above with the autopot container water, to promote healthier color. Hopefully they'll get some more color to em...
Planned to do a tent clean up tomorrow, take plants out, was all the autopot systems to get rid of all kidna residue and lifeforms, might spray some mild bugkiller on the plants while i take em out from tent, have to get "hygiene" up before plants reach their end of life, or before bugs start eating holes in em
Also now after seeing todays pictures, i realised i adjusted the lamp that has the camera atteched to it a bit, so now the plants look more "right" color in the pictures also (they are not as yellow as it seems in earlier pic/angle), have to try to remember to turn the cam tomorrow too, so the pics stay consistant
#48 10.9.
Emptied the whole tent, washed all parts of the autopot system, hosed the plants outside, washed tent, redo the autopot hoses
Changed plant order inside the tent (prplmatics at back, NL:s at front)
Adjusted / lifted lamps to match new order
Topped up autopot water container and added nutes for possibly last time, unless plants get very thirsty use up the whole 40liters
Overall pleased with the clean up, this will also help alot with "winter grow" now that everything is cleaned up.
Will see if this helped with the bugs too, at least the small bugs supposedly flew ouside from tent (shut all lights, moved plants outside and then hosed em so that the bugs will leave and fly out etc), might avoid having to use any chemicals on the bugs this way (id guess they were either small flies or mosquitos or such, not sure they would have really done any harm)
Might wait a ½week and do a huge defoliation, or not :D will see what happens now after the latest changes.
#50 12.9.
Defoliated some
Took few satellites for premature use (working already, what will be the effect of few weeks of more blooming...)
The "bugs" were back, in masses :D
-But recon tells those were mosquitos, so doesn't really matter, as i dont think they get blood from plants...
#54 16.9.
Took few more side branches out.
I'll have to start "final solution/flush" next week, at least for certain plants, i think the bottom right NL is starting have its time done soon, sadly none of my NL's never grown really big, small little autos like these girls also -.-'
