Started these five seeds in paper towels and let air into the bags daily. After about 5 days, the tap roots were about an inch long, so I moved the seeds into their rock-wool cubes and put them in the hydro clone chamber with a small T-8 light above it. In less than 24 hours, 4 of the 5 seeds popped their two small leaves above the cube, adding about a 1/2 inch of growth. So far, the 5th seed still hasn't popped through, but it's holding strong. This is the best method I've found so far in dealing with hydro based auto flowers.
At the beginning of week 1, we moved the plants to their final homes in their 5 gallon hydro buckets. Lighting is close to the pots, however dialed in with a lux meter (avg. 16,000 lux @ plant reading.)
Light nutrients added to the water, and these girls are running with it. They're starting to strengthen their stems, and their root systems are developing very well. Expect even more explosive growth going into week 2! Once more growth is established, will be topping each of the plants to promote double main colas across the board. Overall, very pleased with the development so far.
Second full week of vegetation, and these girls are exploding in growth. Topped off the buckets with more clay balls, and added some more nutrient mixed water. At some point this week, I will be topping all the plants. The growth of these autos coupled with the Hydro is amazing, and I'm excited to see what kind of growth difference there will be going into next week!
Explosive vegetative growth this week as expected! All 5 plants have been topped, and they're loving the environment they're in. No pre-flowering in sight yet, however they're happily recovering from some light defoliation and topping. Should see some nice stretch going into next week. Once flowering starts I'll be taking each plant out of their container, rinsing their rootballs with RO water only, then giving them a fresh flowering solution instead. So exciting!
Going into week 4, and the veg growth is steady. Theses autos are nearly twice the size they would be in soil, and I was able to successfully top a second time, with heavy defoliation and they recovered superbly. The group photos were taken 2 days after topping and defoliation, where they made a full rebound and are as happy as can be. Pre-flowers are just starting to come in, and I think they're starting to transition into early flower. Will see if I can squeeze one more topping in before flower begins. Excited for the coming week!
And so flowering begins! These beauties have loved all the defoliation and care they've received so far. They're well into their initial flower stretch, and their pre=flowers have started to form. As we transition into flower, I removed each plant from their bucket, and thoroughly cleaned their root-balls with nothing more than RO water, and cleaned their buckets out with Simple Green only. Then, we filled up their buckets and switched over to a hybrid of veg and flower nutrients leaning heavier on the flowering nutes. After week one of flower when the buds are starting to form, we'll switch to flowering nutrients only, and see how well they do from there. Overall I'm very happy with progress so far, and can't wait to see what flowering has in-store!
Second true week of flower, and these girls are at full flower stretch. The growth has been explosive, and I'm super happy with my choice to go hydro with these autos. The bud sites have started to swell up, and I did some heavy defoliation as the plant progresses to producing more flower over vegetation. They're starting to show signs they want more calmag, and I'll be introducing that into their next feeding. Overall, everything is going well, and excited to see what kind of overall flower output we'll see. I've grown this strain in soil before, and its produced dense large nugs, so excited to see what well dialed-in hydro grow will produce. Until next week!
We're finally at full flower stretch, yay! The color profile is starting to come through and the purple spreads like it's a virus it's crazy! The bud sites are starting to fill out nicely, and we've made the full switch to flower nutrients. I have decided to add a small amount of Cha Ching earlier than the last two weeks of flower, primarily because of the crazy color profile on these girls. I'm talking like a pinch of it if that. So far so good, girls are healthy and way ahead of expectations so far! We'll see what next week brings!
The girls are getting really stinky this week! Noticed a significant calcium deficiency in a couple of the plants, and since it's flowering I doubled the total amount to hopefully aid in that department. They're hulking out nicely, and the purple has spread even more! Since it's so difficult to move them now, I'll be primarily focusing on taking good overall profile shots and detailed bud site shots. Other than the calmat deficiency, which I corrected in plenty of time(see spots on higher up fan leaves), everything is going swimmingly. Note to self, this strain loves it's calmag as they're now much happier with 1.5x the recommended amount!
As we start to approach later flower these girls are swelling up nicely. Buds have tripled in size over the week, and have become seriously dense. Bud site development is still well under way, and this far into the game I've pretty much just let them do their thing while keeping an eye out for any issues that may arise. The calcium deficiency seems to have been abated by my increase of cal-mag, and they're loving their environment. Will slowly tick up the Cha Ching usage as we get later into flowering. Loving the smell so far!
Cruising right along this week, and these girls are girthing out! Added some serious volume to the buds, and the smell is insane. They're still loving their environment, and I've increased the amount of Cha-Ching as we enter the last few weeks of flower. We're finally in the homestretch, and I can't wait for harvest!
Hey there, Thanks so much for growing our genetics, will be excited to see them all flourish ☘️ Let us know if you need any assistance, we’re more than happy to help 😎 Happy Growing !!!👨🌾🌲
@Fast_Buds, love the Purple Lemonade, not the first time growing this strain, however it's the first time growing them in hydro as apposed to soil. Looking forward to the journey and love your genetics!
