I am excited about this grow. I think it's going to have a good turnout as long as I don't get complacent but not too attentative. Finding the right balance is important and developing a good flow of love and care is key. I don't like having too many different strains going at once. I actually prefer an easy 3 and 3 mix for a total of 6 plants but 2 different strains. In the case of this grow, I will end up having 4 different strains now that only 1 of the Peyote Critical didn't pop. The seed was pretty dark in color and very hard even after soaking in water for 36 hrs and then in a wet paper towel for 24 hrs. I slightly cracked the seed to see if there was any chance of survival, but alas, at this point I'm going to have to start a new strain fast to keep on growth schedule or at least close to it.

Royal Gorilla from RQS was what I decided to replace with the one Peyote Critical that didn't sprout. The seed has already sprouted and is pretty close to caught up with the others, which is really good news! I followed the same methods of germination as described last week. I water every other day and that is what works for me in my environment. To each their own as they say, and each grow is different and may require different frequencies of watering. In my 4 years of experience growing, I would say it is better to underwater than to overwater although neither is ideal. I have messed up a lot by overwatering, and even by underwatering for too long! It's important to find the right balance and to let it be a bonding activity rather than a chore. I am in the process of cleaning my 5x5 tent as I just Harvested 2 Runtz Punch and 3 Mimosa Evo x Orange Punch. They are currently hanging to dry after a "quick trim" on my trimming table. After a week I will cut the buds from the branches and into jars and I will do a final trim from there. It's important to clean in between grows. I have skipped over this before only to be devastated and stressed by a number of issues. I've since corrected these issues by just doing the cleaning process in between as stated. That's all I have to share for now. Thanks for checking in and I hope I can continue to gain support and offer help to others along the way. If you have any questions or just want to shout out then hit me up in the comments!

I accidently skipped a watering day and went a little longer than I wanted in between waterings, that is why the plants look a little droopy. But all is well now! I did get a good watering in, I have plenty of drain holes cut at the bottom of the solo cups. I like to hold the plant over a bucket while I gently pour nutrient water over the coco. I like to have a lot of run off especially when I'm using coco coir, and watering my small plants over a bucket makes it easy cleanup for me. I also keep a handy shop vac near by for any excess water that I missed. When the plants get bigger and go inside my 5x5 tent, I have a big 4x4 drain tray that I cut a drain hole into. That feeds into an hvac pump that then pumps water to my nearest drain source. Makes watering so much easier when you have a good drain system! Anyways, it looks like these ladies are growing up fast, already on the 3rd node! Once I see the 4th node on the plant is when I will do a transplant into their larger pots and larger tent. I will briefly show you how I do a transplant with some pictures. A few days after that I will top each plant once and I'll be sure to get pictures of that too! Stay tuned!

I initially planned to do a transplant before I Topped but I am in the process of disinfecting my 3g pots full of coco/perlite. The issue is that I left the pots outside and that makes a home for pests and other insects, so I am disinfecting and cleaning the coco mix before I transplant. I did not top the middle plant though because it is just barely on its 3rd node. I will give it a few more days. After a few days the plants should be over the shock of topping and I will be able to transplant shortly after that. I will update the photos to reflect that when I do perform the transplant. Maybe even a video!

The transplant went successful in my opinion. I didn't water the plants for 3 days to let them dry up a bit and make it easier for transplanting. Because of that I started to get some yellowing leaves. Now this could but a nutrient issue but if I had to take a stab at it I would say it's from stress. The stress is from underwatering which explains the yellowing before the transplant. The leaves got a little more yellow after the transplant but that is stress from the actual transplant. Anyways, all in all everything is good and they are in their final home. From here I will let them adjust to their new environment and recover from the transplant and then LST for 2 weeks. Hopefully I get some amazing growth from now until then because I will be flipping into flower in 2 weeks. Thanks for stopping by!

I let the girls spend the whole week getting used to their new home and recover from their transplant shock before I began Low Stress Training (LST). Everything looks great in my opinion. A little on the smaller side for being so far along but I think they will burst in growth in the coming weeks. Don't forget that they will double in size during the initial flowering period. I plucked a few leaves off and tied down 2-4 branches on each plant and will continue to tie down more throughout this week. I want to keep a nice even canopy from here on out. Depending on how fast these ladies grow, I think I will be able to start super cropping soon. I'd like to get my SCROG net up so that I can start weaving branches as they continue to stretch. This is the key to getting a good yield when working with a small area such as a 5x5 tent. I expect anywhere from 28-36oz which is around 2lbs. Of course good lighting, nutrients, and good genes go a long way but sometimes you just need that extra boost to get you there and these techniques are what has worked for me (LST, SCROG, Super Cropping). The only thing I think I am lacking is Co2. I have read that I could increase my yield by up to 40%. That's incredible! I'm going to have to do some research on pricing and see what I can work out. Thanks for checking in!

Hey what's up everyone? Just an easy week here at Grow N' Smoke! The ladies look good, they are growing up so fast just like I thought they would. I kept it simple this week by just tying down a few more branches as they stretched and watering every couple of days. I have a 45 gallon trash can that I fill up with about 36 gallons of water. I then add my nutrients and PH balance it. I have a small water pump with a 1/2" line and a shutoff valve at the end. Every few days I will recheck the ph, adjust PH as needed, and then water about 1 to 2 gallons for each plant until I have about 3-6 gallons left. This might be overkill but it works for me. For drainage, I have a tray set up that runs to an HVAC pump underneath. The pump then pushes the water through a 1/2" tube/line into my drain. Super easy to set up and had made my life a whole heck of a lot easier. Thanks for tuning in, good luck with your grows!

Wow... what a rough week! Unfortunately I had some family issues and missed my watering day by 2 whole days. Of course I freaked out and panicked when I seen the girls looking so wilted and droopy! The only solution to this is to start watering and it is pretty amazing how resilient these plants are. I ended up watering 2 days in a row and thankfully they bounced back, but clearly there are signs of stress and I didn't get my net in over the weekend. I am already further in the vegetation stage than I'd like to be at this point but that's okay, an extra week never hurts. Although I am worried that this extra stress may have future repercussions such as low yield or hermies. I think in the end it will be alright. The next step is to do a good HEAVY defoliation and weave the main branches into a trellis net. This weekend coming up should be enough time for the girls to have fully recovered and I need to get rid of the yellowing leaves as well as those "sucker branches" near the base. You know those small ones that won't really give good buds, they really just steal nutrients and energy from the main bud sites.

Thank God the ladies bounced back quick! The net went up super easy, just start high on one corner and pull tight and straight to the next. I had a couple bundles of the mini velcro straps that come with some trellis nets on Amazon, so I used those to strap the net to the corner posts. It's easy to slide them up and down to adjust the net. With the amount of space that I have I really try to use all of it with the ScrOG method. It's along the lines of LST as I weave the branches through the net.

Noticed some yellowing tips. I think I need to dial back the nutrients a bit. I increased them last week to see what they could handle. There is a lot more growth than I expected this time and I've let them veg longer than I usually like to but it was necessary to let them recover from my previous mistakes. Tomorrow will be a good day to defoliate and start the flip into flower. If it isn't nutrient burn, then what is causing the yellowing leaves and tips?

Your EC is way too high and she's struggling... plus, the ratio between the Flora Gro, Bloom and Micro is off .... it should be 1 part Gro, 2 parts Micro and 3 parts Bloom... and your pH is a bit too high... dial that back to 6.0 max. Good luck! Nice looking grow if you can get the EC and pH under control!

I went ahead a flipped into flower and the girls have responded really well! I had some issues last week but I think adjusting the PH down to 5.9 helped and diluting my nutrient solution to bring down my EC levels helped as well

The ladies have fully recovered from whatever nutrient issues I was having. I think the answers hit the nail on the head when it came to ph imbalance, too high EC (too much nutrients) except for a lack of potash. I cut my nutrients down, lowered the PH, and added in more bloom this time around. So far they look great!

I am getting worried about it being too crowded in the tent. I decided that a good defoliation was needed but I was only able to get about 2 of them done. It's a time consuming process so I'll have to do each plant when I can throughout this coming week. I want to focus on taking out the little branches that won't yield much and remove big leaves to promote better air flow and light penetration. This also helps them to put more energy into bud production.

These buds are looking really amazing! What do you think? Of course every grow has its ups and downs along the way and this one is no exception. I'm hoping to have a good strong finish in the coming weeks. Thankfully this past week went pretty well. I did do some defoliating when I found the time and patience. I think I have my nutrients pretty much dialed in except on the one plant in the left/middle but at this point I'm just gonna roll with what I'm doing. Any advice is much appreciated.

I feel like I'm doing something wrong when it comes to the end of flowering. I've seen harvests with nice green leaves but for some reason my leaves are always yellowing and burnt by the last couple of weeks. I usually just chalk this up to harvesting time fade/fall coloring but I wonder if it's something I don't have right in my nutrients. Either way I only have about a week or 2 left of feeding, im going to implement Liquid Koolbloom the last week of feeding. The last 2 weeks of these girls I'll flush with just ph balanced water. Day 60 should be around January 8th which is my expected Harvest date so this will be my "New Year Harvest". Needless to say, I'm super excited! P.S. I added in another layer of netting to help support the really heavy buds forming. They feel super solid and thick as well as extremely sticky

Easy peasy lemon squeezy!! These babies are looking good and almost done! January 8th is expected Harvest, I anticipate around 30 ozs in total (about 5 ozs from each plant). I'll do about a 10 day flush just before then.

I have officially began the flush today. Just normal tap water, no nutrients, used ph down in the water until the pen read 5.84 There still isn't much science or research behind actually doing a flush. I can think of one research paper that I came across online about comparing different lengths of flush to not doing a flush at all. In my opinion, depending on how you look at the data there wasn't much difference in yield or thc content other than the 10 day flush may have been a little better than no flush at all. For me, I like to think a flush does actually help. I have done grows without doing a flush at all and the buds were great. But in the end there wasn't much difference when I did do a flush. If you think about it though, the cost of nutrients that is, well then you're going to save money when you do a flush. Right? Over time, that 2 week flush will save you some nutrients because at that point you just really don't need them. I may be harvesting sooner that January 8th. Let's check it 10 days from now and see what we are looking like.

We are down to the final week! Just 2 more watering days and then I'll be ready to cut them down, trim, and hang this weekend. It had been a long 21 weeks and I am not prepared for my next grow. Usually I like to run perpetually with my 2x4 tent, I should have had another set of 6 starting when I flipped these ladies into flower. That way when these finish I could have had another set ready to go in. But things came up and I am behind schedule and running out of nutrients. Honestly that is okay though because I am planning my whole year out. I'll buy the few items that I need such as PH Down, some ph pen calibrating powder, grab some more Flora micro and bloom, stock up on fabric pots, coco coir, and perlite. I'm even thinking of getting some new strains! Stay tuned for next week's harvest!

145g = ~5oz isn't a bad harvest from one plant is it? It may be a bit less if I trim more off but I think I may just leave it as it is because we don't mind some leaves around these parts. The grow was easy, I underwatered a couple of times as I usually do by accident. The bud tastes amazing, and has very high THC. I'll give more details later

What a great Harvest! Another 5ozs from just one plant! Looks like I may actually hit 30 to 35ozs as I planned. I'll be giving the smoke report next week, and stay tuned for the Grandaddy Purple and Peyote Critical Harvest updates!

What beautiful flowers! I am happy with these buds, the quality, the smell, the feel. This has been a great journey, 144 grams from one plant! This brings me to about 15ozs total from just 3 plants!

I loved growing this strain! Very beautiful flowers, solid dense nugs, lots of crystals, extremely sticky, lots of growth.

This was my first diary ever really. I usually have half-assed attempts at keeping track of my grows but Growdiaries really helped me to stay on track. Such as taking weekly photos, recording ph tds and nutrients, making comments each week, getting help from the community, and be an overall better grower. Grandaddy Purple is pretty amazing! The crystals are insane and the buds are dense, sticky, and smell incredible! It was pretty easy to grow and maintain. Super strong really as I put these ladies through some searious stress... topping, low stress training, defoliation, Scrog, super cropping, some nutrient and ph imbalances, and even a few underwaterings. That sounds really bad now that I list it all out, but it was still a good fruitful journey. 502g is about 17.9ozs from 3 plants, that's a little over a pound!

@Grow4Releaf, thanks! I started out about 3 or 4 years ago with just a couple of plants like yours. Over time, I studied more and practiced different growing techniques until I found what worked for me. Now I can steadily pull about 2lbs from 6 plants (26-35ozs, about 5 to 6ozs per plant). Thanks for the love and same to you growmie, 2023 is gonna be a good year for the grows!
