WEEK 8 Day 1 (5th SEP):
Temperatures: Highest day 29.1°C, Lowest day 27.3°C, Night 26.9°C,
Relative Humidity: Lowest 56.9%, Highest 72.9%,
Watering: 1500mL (See nutrients chart),
pH After watering: 5.5
Techniques Used: None
Comments: An unwelcome rise in temperature after sealing the space but I haven't much choice. Humidity has spiked a bit as well. It has been raining a lot and the windows are usually open so once it passes it might come down a bit.
I've introduced a bit of Calmag to the feed after recommendation from @Fauna so maybe the tangerine will fatten up a bit before harvest.
WEEK 8 Day 2 (6th SEP):
Temperatures: Highest day xx.x°C, Lowest day xx.x°C, Night 26.5°C,
Relative Humidity: Lowest xx.x%, Highest xx.x%,
Watering: 0mL (See nutrients chart)
pH After watering: n/a.
Techniques Used: Defoliation
Comments: I removed some more leaves today that were obstructing light from getting to the bud sites. The trichomes at the top especially are beginning to cloud and about a third of the pistils have turned orange. Slight contact with the plant while I was cutting leaves off left very sticky residue on my skin and smells very pungent. The end is almost near, this will be the last week of feed. The flush forecast for the beginning of week 9, exactly in line with the breeder's information for this strain.
WEEK 8 Day 3 (7th SEP):
Temperatures: Highest day xx.x°C, Lowest day xx.x°C, Night xx.x°C,
Relative Humidity: Lowest xx.x%, Highest xx.x%,
Watering: 1500mL (See nutrients chart),
pH After watering:
Techniques Used: None
Comments: What can I say today that I haven't already? This grow is getting better by the day. Gonna get some promising bud off this for sure.
WEEK 8 Day 4 (8th SEP):
Temperatures: Highest day xx.x°C, Lowest day xx.x°C, Night xx.x°C,
Relative Humidity: Lowest xx.x%, Highest xx.x%,
Watering: 0mL (See nutrients chart)
pH After watering: n/a.
Techniques Used: None
Comments: So an update regarding the smell situation: it's pretty much contained. The EC fan and carbon filter are really doing the job nicely. For context, my grow unit is situated in the en-suite to my bedroom. Before I could smell it when stepping into the house, now as I type this in my bedroom I cannot smell it at all. Yet in the week that I improved the set up for this, the tangerine smell has just got stronger and stronger but remains contained. See the set up information at the very bottom of this weeks commentary if you're interested to know what I am using.
WEEK 8 Day 5 (9th SEP):
Temperatures: Highest day xx.x°C, Lowest day xx.x°C, Night xx.x°C,

Watering: 1500mL (See nutrients chart),

SETUP INFORMATION:
A home built timber framed enclosed unit lined with foiled foam insulative sheeting. Silicon sealed to reduce noise and smell transmission. The unit is stealth disguised as a towel cupboard and located in an en-suite shower room which is kept clean and dry to prevent mould and higher humidity readings. Grows are suspended using chains to make the most of a narrow but tall vertical space with "S" hooks to hold the air pots. Internal dimensions are Width 520mm x Depth 300mm x Height 2000mm when completely empty (or Height 1600mm when subtracting the space used by the light).
Phlizon 1500W CREE COB:
(72x Full Spectrum LEDs - ON 18 Hours - 53x 660/630nm, 10x 470nm, 2x 3000k, 3x IR 740nm, 4x 6500k),
(3x CREE COB LEDs - OFF - 1x 6000k, 2x 3000k).
Phresh Hyper Fan V2 - ON 24 Hours:
(150mm EC Fan with CarboAir Filter, Maximum Power = 42W at 100%, Usually run at 30%).
600mL Portable Dehumidifier - ON 24 Hours:
(125mL removed daily and reused when watering).
Ram 230mm Circulation Fan - ON 24 Hours:
(Maximum Power = 40W at 100%, Usually run at 33%).
USB Desk Fan - ON 24 Hours.
ORIA Bluetooth Hygrometer/Thermometer.
Digital Soil pH, Humidity, Lux gauge.
@GrowingGrannie, I water every second day (accounted for in nutes info) and the morning is watering time again.
Week 6 tomorrow, too. The white hairs on this so far are looking promising.
Stay tuned 🌿🌲
Hi everyone, thank you for visiting. I was Libricorn but now renamed to VertiGrow.
I have changed the format in which I'll be recording my grows with detailed daily stats and comments listed each week.
xx.x measures are placeholders to be updated as the week goes by.
Thanks again.
Happy growing! 🙂🌿
@VertiGrow, oh nah its fine. well, its definitely not hidden well, or at all. I just like the idea of a closet grow, would make keeping it warm easier and i could go back to using LED. I grow in a garage, it gets really cold so im using HID for the heat.
I (T.O.H.) like the use of chains, is the plant still hanging? I’d like to say I will check back in but I get lost in the 💨💨💨 and I always have a hard time finding the pages after that! 💚✌️
@CannabisCultivate, I know how it is, don't worry 👍.
It is still hanging with quite a bit more space below to use if it gets much taller.
I have been aiming to keep a constant 20cm distance to the light and figured that adjusting the pots instead would be the way to go in this tight vertical space.
Some may argue that this is too close but I've not yet seen any evidence of light bleaching. The leaves and flowers directly under are looking healthy.
Thanks for stopping by 🌿👍
@@Fauna, Thank you for the recommendation. I shall implement this on the next grow. The BioBizz schedule does state it at the bottom but I treated it as small print and overlooked it. Fuller growth is a most definitely a target next time.
love the microgrow, when i lved with my parents i tried to grow at least 20 times and always got caught when the plant was about 10cm tall hahahahah would have loved a closet grow.
A friend of mine dumped all of his clothes in a corner and hung a 125w cfl in there. That was the first homegrown I ever smoked, bloody delicious :)
@hardcorejunglist, Thank you, it has been a fun an ongoing work in progress. I'm glad to say that it's near completion - thankfully, as it has not been cheap to build.
That's some perseverance to keep going after getting caught so many times 😄. I think done to a moderately sufficient level, it's gonna be hard to hide the smell, noise and heat at the same time. Fans can be noisy so I find I'm having to fine tune a compromise that keeps it all on the down low.
"A friend of mine dumped all of his clothes in a corner and hung a 125w cfl in there." - Standard! 😄 The floordrobe is a better place for that anyway.
I have two Milyn 150W equivalent full spectrum LED bulb sets each with flexible bayonet fittings and 1 metre UK extension cables going spare. They will be sold through eBay so if you're interested and UK based, send me a private message and I'll be happy provide a link.
