Bruce Banner AutoFlower seed from ILGM, attempt #1, seed a/j. Grow media and hardware from 5 gallon APot4Pot.com kit. Day 0-7 Day 1 Hull(k!) cracked after 24 hour soak in tap water. Moved seed using a spoon to a small beaker of purified water, seed sank to the bottom immediately. Day 2 Prepared 50 mm Jiffy pellet by soaking in 250 ml of purified water at room temperature for 10 minutes. Handled seed with a spoon, placing 1 cm deep in jiffy pellet. Set AP4P seedling cup in window sill. Filled bottom of seedling cup with water. Expanded 2 bricks of coconut husk in clean 5 gal bucket, using 1.5 gallons of purified (pH 7.0) water and added Perlite/diatomaceous earth/mycorrhizae packets from kit. Mixed in 500 ml of SuperbSoil with an additional 500 ml tap water. Added remainder of soil to a 5 gal permeable cloth pot, topped off with wet potting soil mixture. Small stream, apprx 50 ml of water, drained from cloth pot. Placed saturated inoculated soil pot aside in dark room. Day 3 Pellet swollen above seed cup overnight, with evidence of germination under peat. Seed cup placed into a Gorilla Lite 2x2.5 tent. Kind X220 light on 24 hours, output 25% full spectrum at 60 cm light height. Day 4 Dicot emerges. Day 5 Light timer cycle 18/6 @ 50% power, misted interior w/ 50 ml 4x during the day. Afternoon bumped power to 100% and cycle to 20_4. Day 6 Light cycle 20/4 @ 100% power. Misting cabinet w/ 50 ml water.

Day 8-14 Day 8 Transplant Jiffy plug to 5 gal pot of soil prepared last week. Stripped mesh from plug. Covered plant with humidity dome. Arranged drip tubes on surface. Supply 500 ml of water every 3 days. Day 9 Seedling dripping with water under the humidity dome. Begin circulating air in GGT, on-off with light. Day 11 Begin auto irrigation with 500 ml of pH 6.2 water every third day. 😊Day 14 Good growth. Setup small ultrasonic humidifier in GGT, on-off with light. Reset irrigation to 500 ml/day.

Day 22-28 Modified light cycle to 16 hr 100% full spectrum/0% FRed, light ht = 15", 100% full spectrum/0% FRed. Day 24 showed standing water in pot saucer. Modified auto irrigation from 500 ml daily to every other day. Day 22 through 23: Auto irrigation, 500 ml/day. Day 23 Mist leaves w/Neem&soap. Soil dry top, most at finger depth. Pot heavy with water. Day 24 Plant ht=7”, light ht = 15” T = 82.5, RH = 75%. Stopped using the ulSonic humidifier. Standing water in pot saucer. Reduced light to 16/8 after referencing several grow journals for BB. Pot felt too wet and heavy so the auto irrigation was changed to 500 ml every other day. Day 25 Changed light cycle to 20/4 after reading an article about the response of auto flowers. Irrigation set back to 500 ml daily. Day 26 Plant ht = 7”, light 12” above plant top. Fed 350 ml water @ pH 5.7. Day 27 Plant ht = 8-1/2”, moved light 15” above plant top Maintain 500 ml water @ pH 5.7 irrigation. Pot heavy, bottom damp.

More cloudy trichomes than clear. A smattering of amber heads. Harvested main cola as trichomes are cloudy with a smattering of amber heads. Cutting the main and lowering the light will produce more even light distribution to middle and lower buds to develop through the week. Trimmed main cola wet weight with stalk 1.46 oz. Day 73 Plant ht = 17”, light 16” above plant top, 100/100% UV_IR, 18/6. Interior green leaves drooping. Pot very light & dry. Watered with 1,500 ml. Cut down approximately half the plant branches. Trimmed weight of harvested branches to date 5.44 oz Day 74 Plant ht = 17”, light 16” above plant top, 100/100% UV_IR, 18/6. Pot very light & dry. Added 500 ml water. Drooping leaves recovered. All small fan leaves are yellow. Pattern of brown purple and yellow around each flower. Majority of trichomes milky, est 20% clear, 5% amber. Sequential harvest to: 1. Collect samples at various stage of harvest to determine differences in effect. 2. Cut main cola at the beginning of harvest to open middle and lower flowers to light. 3. Cutting main cola to enable lowering light to increase intensity for green leaves. Lessons learned 1. Additional defoliation to eliminate small, interior branches. Small branches create a disproportional amount of work to trim and dry in relation to the yield. Play closer attention to defoliating smaller branching during vegetation growth to aid later harvest and drying. 2. Cut large branches just below first branch to enable hanging at 'Y'.
