Out of the seven clones grown I had 2 phenotypes. One of them is more difficult to deal with than the other. The leaves start to turn brown around 7 weeks in. The same thing happened to the mother plant when she was flowered out. The mother was grown with Advanced Nutrients whereas the clone run was fed the Nectar for the Gods nutrient line. One thing to note this time is that the buds are more resinous than the previous run. I harvested 4 of these plants on day 69. The second phenotype requires more flushing so they're getting another week. There are three plants left.
@Sgtoso,nice I am currently doing the same thing in my garden. I was using General Hydroponics line and I was happy with the quality of my flowers, but I was spending so much time mixing from this bottle and then that bottle, i started wondering how commercial farmers could survive with the time of mixing 47 different bottles and the costs associated with it. This round I went with JR Peters Jacks Hydroponic powdered nutrients. It is a 2 part formula that is mixed with Epsom salts for the magnesium necessary to round out the formula. I bought 5 lbs of each part for $50 combined. I would have ordered the 25 lb bags for $100 combined, but I wanted to test it first. While I am only in week 5 of Veg, the plants are loving the salt based nutrients and growing as vigorous as any plants that I have ever run in my garden. If they flower as well as they have been vegging, I will never go back.
@MagicMikesMeds,Yep I'm constantly analyzing my grow as well. I'm convinced my limiting factor is lighting at this point. My harvests are consistent in size so I started to focus on faster turn around. For example I've already germinated seeds for the next round. In the next couple of weeks or so I'll be posting new diaries. They'll be in a separate veg tent while these finish drying. This was a trial with a new (to me) nutrient company. I have samples from another company that I'll be running next summer since this is my next hurdle to tackle. I'm not happy with the cost of Advanced Nutrients so I'm shopping around for a replacement. As far as the even canopy goes I had to sacrifice extra veg time to get it like this. I'll be taking notes on the results to see if it is actually worth the extra effort and time.
@Sgtoso, that is great and hopefully you learned a lot as you went. One of my favorite things is analyzing and improving my garden. I try to uncover limiting factors in the grow and fix them so that the next round in the garden is better then the last. I post bi-weekly garden videos to my YouTube channel.
