Was forced to start a new grow sooner than I wanted, so I chose a strain that would excite me,
San Bacio Gelato from the “old” Humboldt Seed Organization, from the limited Sherbinski Line,
It is a cross with Bacio Gelato a.k.a Gelato #41,
In the past I have grown LA Gelato and Purple Matcha from this line and both were fantastic!!
I hope this one is in the same ball-park.
Both seeds germinated, let's hope they go good 😎
Both seeds came out quick and vigorous,
I hade to leave for three days and left the tent closed and the humidity went through the roof,
I think this caused the leaves to twist up a little but at this moment I am not very concerned about that,
Based on the other strains I did from the Sherbinskis Humboldt line, I am expecting a bit longer vegitation period, so a minimum of 6 weeks, depending on how they develop,
The Bilberry Lamp is making a great impression I must say, the special grow spectrum in full effect.
Hope they go good, fingers crossed 👍
It's day 11 since they sprouted and I must say I love what they are showing,😍
Since a few days it is clear to see the differences between the two pheno's.
Pheno 1 is looking good, the first leaves had 5 blades instead of the normal 3 and is creating a beautifully Indica shaped plant💪
Pheno 2 has a little mutation on the fist leaves where she produces only two blades and they are partially grown together, but she has a nice development.
I have no Idea at this stage which of the two I will leave for flowering.
I have only watered them once since the beginning, with 1litr of water each and a bit of root stimulator, the BAC Lava Soil keeps moisture very well and that allows me to water less frequently.
As you can see the vertical development of the plants is not rapid, but as I said before, this is strain that has a prolonged vegetation time so I would say it is going good.
Fingers crossed it all goes well. 😎
Today is day 16 since coming out of the ground. I have to say I am surprised by the tempo of the growth. In my previous grow of these strains it took much longer. I attribute this to the Bilberry Lamp. It is going on 50% of its power but you can see just how well they are growing. If they continue to go in this tempo I might shorten the veg period by a week or so. I have fed them for the first time this week. I gave them 1ml of BAC Organic Grow and minimal doses of Root Stimulator and CalMag. Normally I would not do this, I would just give them the root stimulator but I know these strains like to “eat” a lot when they develop so I prefer to give them something to avoid a deficit in the future.
Pheno one is going great, looks perfect and just like the previous Gelato I did from Humboldt Sherbinskis line.
Pheno two has show another small mutation. You can see that one blade on the second fan leaf is a little deformed. However the development rate of the plant is fantastic, it is slightly better than Pheno one but Pheno one shows no mutations.
I STILL have NOT decided wich one of the two I will leave for flowering. As I wrote before I don't like leaving things up to chance and I always do at least a small selection.
Great thanks to Bilberry for providing a HIGH QUALITY lamp!
Hope they continue to grow great. Fingers Crossed.
During the past week a lot has happened.😃
First of all I chose Pheno 1 to stay and I gave Pheno 2 away to my friend.
I switched the Bilberry light to Bloom Spectrum, but kept the 18 hours light schedule the reason behind this is that because of the quick (unexpected) vertical growth I am soon planning to re pot and then switch to 12 hours. I don't want to put all that stress on her at the same time.
The switch has even more increased the growth. She is going FANTASTIC!!💪
I pruned just twó (one level) of fan leafs to give some light to the lower levels. Normally I don't do this but something compeled me this time.
I fed her twice tha past week, both times with the same nutrient proportions. I dont't have to water much as the BAC Lava Soil keeps the moisture very well.
I hope she keeps going like this!!
Today was the last day of 18/6 hours light schedule!!
I just changed the timer to 12/12
I increased the Bilberry lamp from 60 to 70% Power.
During this week I really had to increase the amount of both water and nutrients, Just like the breeder said, she starts to eat a LOT already in the vegetative stage so I fed her a lot and even thought I did I noticed small signs of deficiencies on the lower leaves,
Mid week I re potted Her to a 25L container and cut out some of the fan leaves just as the breeder recommended.
The reason I follow the recommendations is I have grow Sherbinskis line before and the end effect is so much better.
Also starting to keep a big temp difference between night and day. As you can see She is growing very fast.
So the first week of a 12 on 12 light schedule is behind us.
As you can see she started to elongate very well, most of the branches grew out to the same hight without any LST or HST training.
The Bilberry Lamp is showing it's quality. You can see that both the spectrum and the power work great for the plant.
Nothing special happened this week. She showed her first "hairs". Fed her twice each time with the mentioned dosages from the BAC Organic line.
I try to keep na 9 degrees Celsius difference between night and day. Just trying to keep her happy and hope that all goes well.
As you can see she is in full flowering mode right now.
She has slowed down the vertical growth and I can see “hairs” everywhere.
During this week I took off some fan leaves as advised by the breeder and I will probably do it again in week 5 of flowering.
Despite feeding her with solid dosages of BAC nutrients some of the lower leaves have turned a bit yellow so I will increase the amount of “food” she gets from now on.
I have ramped up the power on the Bilberry lamp to 80%. I must say this lamp is out of this world. I hope the end product will reflect it.
Hope she keeps going good.
This week was heavy and stressful for my lady but she took it like a champ.
First of all I switched the light spectrum to “Harvest” on my Bilberry lamp, to increase the amount of UV she gets. I also increased the power to 80%.
I removed a lot of leaves as it was getting really, really thick and there was a lot of shade.
I also installed a net. Not to do any LST but to support the branches in later stages of the flowering.
Nutrient schedule from BAC was maintained from the previous week with the exception of BAC Final Solution.
She is going well into flowering I hope she goes good
This week was extra calm.
I literally did nothing but feed her. No changes on the lamp, no changes in the feeding, she is in full flowering and in my opinion doing very well under the new bilberry lamp.
Hope it goes well to the end.
Nothing special happened this week.
Just feeding her well and really nothing else.
She is well into flowering, the smell is getting more and more intense. It is reminiscent of a mild version of gasoline with a lot of sweetness and wood. I must say it makes me curious what will come. Fingers crossed.
It was a nice week for her.
According to the breeders description, the hairs are starting to turn brown, the leafs are getting darker. Also as they suggested I took out some of the top leafs.
I fed her regularly just boosted her with the last shot of the BAC final solution.
I have to say that the Bilberry lamp is working MAGIC. I will for sure wait for the final results but things look very promising. The way i can control this light is amazing.
This week I got the newest model of LED Lamp from Bilberry.
It is an amazing revolutionary lamp. It has so many functions it’s crazy!!
EVERYTHING you want is in the phone app!!
You can set the time and DATE, when it turns on and off,
It has a Dawn and Dusk function (the light power grows or lowers in time), that you can set yourself.
It has three special spectrums!! Far Red and UV!!
THIS LAMP IS THE FUTURE!!
It is like having a pro lamp at home.
With the San Bacio Gelato as you can see I am close to the end,
This week I lowered the feeding and tomorrow i flush her,
I think by the looks of the trichomes she will take two more weeks to finish nice with a lot of amber crystals on her.
Fingers crossed all goes well.
At the end of the previous week i flushed the plant.
She is going good, swolling up nice.
One week or maybe one and a half and it's cutting time.
Hope all goes well.
She is almost ready!!
I am very happy, she looks and smells great!!
this will be a big test for me, what quality I will get from the bilberry lamp.
She is finishing in good time. I have to thank the Humboldt seeds org. For giving a good description on how to grow this strain.
Next time I will do the review.
Fingers crossed till the end.
