Sept. 23 - I am once again germinating with added magnets since last time (King Tut & Citrus Skunk) was almost unbelievable. I'll be checking these ones after 12 hours instead of 36 though. Seeds were placed in moist paper towel around 10:30pm. Sept. 24 - I prepared my soil mix in a large container and added 2 parts Happy Frog, 2 parts Ocean Forest and 1 part Root Farm Hydro Mix. I also added a cup of dolomitic lime and then moistened the mixture with 5L water containing Missing Link Black (4mL/L) and Miicrobial Mass (2mL/L), mixed thoroughly making sure everything was evenly hydrated, then divided between two 7Gal. fabric pots. Sept. 25 - Both seeds have sprouted and have been placed into their pots then watered very lightly (100mL each) with RO water. Sprout time wasn't as fast as I had anticipated, but considering they were in the refrigerator just a few days ago, I think any time under 48 hours is pretty good. Sept. 28 - Right sprout broke surface. Sept. 29 - I checked on the Left sprout by very gently scraping away substrate with a small flat blade or slot screwdriver. I found it to be growing, but trapped under a wood chip, so I just replaced what I had removed with less dense substrate. Sept. 30 - Left sprout broke surface. Oct. 1 - Photo update and very light watering of 120ml each with water containing Miicrobial Mass and Missing Link Black.

Oct. 2 - Gave each 500ml water + MIIM + Missing Link. Oct. 4 - Photo update. Oct. 5 - Watered 1L each with 2ml/l Miicrobial Mass. Light schedule was switched to 24H because I moved my good timer to the Citrus Skunk & King Tut tent. I have other timers that are rated for more amperage than I need (let alone supply) but they seldom last more than a month (3 tops) before they reset and forget the schedule, they do work properly for very light loads like my aquarium lighting and succulent lighting (I doubt 1 could handle both though) so they're not complete crap, but close. Oct. 8 - Photo update.

Oct. 16 - Week 3 Begins, both plants are growing well, maybe a slight nitrogen deficiency which is why I've added some non organic nutrients to what I had hoped to be a mostly organic grow, hopefully it's not something that'll affect the bloom phase. I picked up a new timer the other day so now they're back on an 18/6 light schedule. Oct. 18 - They're growing really well and are starting to smell a little. Oct. 22 - Seeing some rapid growth in both plants, I suspect that any day now the first pistils will appear.

Oct. 23 - Week 4 begins. The one on the left has caught up and they are now both 9" tall but the one on the right still remains larger. Oct. 24 - Photo update. Oct. 28 - They continue to grow at a fairly good rate and smell has slightly increased. Oct. 29 - The first pistils have appeared on both plants 37 days from putting the seeds into paper towel, 35 days from when they sprouted and 29 days from when their first "weed" leaves appeared. So far with the autos I've grown (these two are numbers 4 and 5) the pistils first show 29 days from when those first true pot leaves appear.

Nov. 6 - Week 6, second week of flower begins. They're really growing quickly now, I give them each 4L nutrient solution over the course of the day, 1L each at a time. Nov. 8 - They're growing so fast now, I suspect a 3x3 tent is a little small for the two of them, if I had the the space (and budget) I'd setup a second identical tent and move one of them to it. I will likely only grow one of these at a time in the future. Nov. 10 - There is some leaf tip twisting going on in the new growth, I've investigated some and it may be a slight boron deficiency which can be caused from under watering so I can't really slack off with the watering anymore. I didn't pack the soil very much as I added it to the pots so it drains incredibly fast. Besides that, they're both rapidly getting bigger and developing a wonderful scent that seems to change slightly every few days. Nov. 12 - The twisty leaf tips have mostly gone back to normal and the smell is becoming a much more familiar scent of sweet skunk.

Nov. 13 - Week 7 begins. Both plants are almost identical now that the left one seems to have caught up, but it will be interesting to watch trichome development as I suspect the right plant will always be a few days ahead. Nov. 17 - Stretch seems near complete, the plants now occupy the entire footprint of the tent, and lots of buds are rapidly growing, the structure of which is slightly varied (shown in photos). It's kinda neat how the smell varies throughout their day; two hours in and the smell is similar to milk chocolate, several hours later there is noticeably skunkier then shortly after lights-out they always briefly smell like freshly cut lawn (unused chlorophyll I suspect, don't know, I don't really know anything). Nov. 18 - Photo update.

Nov. 20 - Week 8 begins. There is considerable difference between the two now, the left plant has branches taller than the right plants main cola and the right looks to have fatter, tighter buds. Nov. 22 - Today I added some Miicrobial Mass to the nutrient solution, I also noticed the very first trichomes on the right plant. Nov. 23 - Yesterday I fed them each 8 litres and today they want more, their tents RH is about 25% so they need to drink lots, I probably should have put them in larger pots. Nov. 25 - Buds developing quite nicely.

Nov. 27 - Week 9 begins. I have noticed a few thrips and am contemplating getting some predatory mites from my local grow store, they're pretty inexpensive and may prevent a full blown thrip infestation. Nov. 30 - I haven't seen any more thrips, but will likely still pick up some cucumeris when the grow store gets their order, hopefully later today. Dec. 1 - I wan't able to get fresh mites however I was given a large ziplock bag of the expired sachets (10-20% live) so I've hung 5-6 on each of my plants and will pick up some fresh ones sometime next week if the weather permits, they can't get them in when it's so cold because apparently -25°C kills bugs, but the weekend looks like +4 so yay!

At what point would you add predatory mites to help control thrips?

I would go with the ladybugs if you can, particularly at this point in your grow... but you can also pick up some Dr. Zymes Eliminator or some Spinosad, both of which are organic and can be sprayed right up to the day of harvest. The problem with that is you need to spray both the tops and the bottoms of all leaves as well as the stem and all branches (just before lights out) and it gets really difficult with as much of a planting as you have... but it can still be done. Your choice - but do something NOW.... Good luck!

Dec. 7 - Buds are getting bigger by the day. There are still no trichomes to be seen on the left plant while the right plant has been producing them for the past few weeks. The left plant is noticeably taller than the right with many of her branches the same height or taller than the right plant. As for smell, the right plant reminds me very much of milk chocolate while the left is developing a sweet skunky scent. Dec. 10 - I picked up some much livelier mites at my favourite grow shop today and put several sachets in each of my plants, now I haven't seen any thrips in many days, but a few days ago I did find a boxelder bug, so who knows what next.

Dec. 11 - Week 11 begins. I'm cutting back on nutrients since some leaves are showing sign of burning, likely from the excessive amounts of dolomite lime my stoned ass put in when mixing the soil. Hopefully by alternating between pure water and a weakened nutrient solution the burning will stop, fingers crossed. Smell is nice and sweet, reminds me of when we made fancy chocolates as a child. Dec. 17 - I've been alternating between a weak nutrient solution and plain water this week. The smell coming from the right plant has become magical, in addition to chocolaty sweet, it's a cross between sweet flowers and tropical fruit. I sometimes put my nose up to a bud and smell it for several minutes, it is actually somewhat intoxicating. The left plant seems to be taking much longer to mature but the smell that's finally coming off her is similar to that of the right plant several weeks ago, milk chocolate.

Dec. 18 - Week 12 begins. I am only giving them water now. Dec. 23 - I have started to harvest by cutting the top half of the right plant, the smell of which now reminds me of a Terry's Chocolate Orange. The left plant smells faintly of milk chocolate and probably has a few weeks to go.

Dec. 25 - Merry Christmas! Week 13 begins. Dec. 31 - The right plant has been completely harvested and now dries and cures (estimated half pound). Left plant is taking its sweet time but the leaves are yellowing a lot towards the top, I suspect it's a combination of a lack of humidity and the intensity of the light. There isn't much I can do about either except hope that the end product isn't too negatively impacted.

Happy Harvest Day!
Rated
8/10

The rating may change based on how the cured flower is. While trimming some dry buds for the cure bag, I smoked some of the goop that had accumulated on my snips, the high hit me fast and hard, right to the head immediately followed by a happy and motivated feeling, so I went back to trimming which I'm generally not too keen on. Update June 14 2023 - I love this weed, it is by far the best auto flower I've ever grown, it still has that strawberry cheesecake smell but has developed somewhat of a citrus aroma as well. I had it tested today and it came in at 20% THC and 2% CBD for the right plant, I'll have to take in a sample of the left plant soon.

For the first time I am using Grove Bags to cure, I usually use 1 litre (quart) jars which hold about an ounce but they don't work great for big colas, the 1/2lb size bag seems just about perfect. Jan. 7 - Overall these were easy to grow, one was defiantly more so than the other but there is often some variation when growing from seed. They both had the same delightful milk chocolate scent at their times of harvest. After a few days of being in a GroveBag (humidity regulating curing bag) the first plant, or right plant, smells of strawberries and cream, specifically, a Strawberry Cheesecake Blizzard from Dairy Queen, I've had so many of those, I know the smell well. Updates to come.

@PapaNugs, Thank you for the positive words!😀 The right plant could be ready between Christmas and New Years so in the near future (probably Saturday) I'll be uploading photos of the trichomes. The left one has only just started trichome development so I suspect she'll be ready a few weeks into the new year.
