I soaked the seed in distilled water for 6 hours and then moved them to a rapid rooter in a seedling tray in a closet under a 80 watt LED light. The tap root started on 5/7/18 and once it started brushing the top of the tray I moved it into Coco Loco potting mix. I just moved it into a dresser converted into a grow space. I used panda film on the walls with a VIPARSPECTRA Dimmable Reflector Series DS300 300W LED Grow Light 12-Band Full Spectrum light on light rope hangers. I'm starting the light at 150 watts until the plants grow a a bit bigger.

It is very interesting to see the growth that happens seemingly overnight. I kept the seedlings watered as needed making sure that I wasn't over watering them. I have them on a 18/6 light schedule with the light turning off between noon and 6 pm. 👉I moved them to a 5 gallon cloth pot all on 5/20. For the soil I am using Fox Farms Ocean Forest potting soil on the bottom half, the next quarter I used Whitney Farms organic potting soil and the top quarter is Coco-Loco potting mix. I also lightly blended the soils where they met. I was tempted to wait on the gelato, until the leaf tips were to the outside of the cow pots, but the tap root was pushing through the bottom so I moved it as well. Had an issue with heat in the dresser as the light was keeping it at 80 degrees at half power. I attempted to make venting but I couldn't figure out how to keep the light hidden so I scrapped it. I'm in the process of transferring the plants to a basement closet which is lined with cedar. I know the cedar will keep bugs out and I'm thinking it should help mute the smell but does anyone know if it will negatively effect them?

It appears that all three plants bounced back from the transplant fairly well. Also I'm watering in low amounts basically until the soil around the base dries. I started LST training, which I hope I am doing correctly, and they have already started to respond and there is a noticeable bend back towards the light on all three. I've also added a small fan to create a subtle breeze for the stalks to grow stronger as well. I'm still tinkering with the room setup due to the humidity already being high. I welcome any tips and suggestions

Nothing big to report on Critical this week. I am doing less LST as I had a stem break on my Gelato in the same room. I figure slimmer buds are better than no buds.

Tried setting up some Blumat sensors and I left some of the caps wide open and it emptied into the pots in about 1.5 hours between when I checked on it. I'm hoping that it didn't flush too many nutrients so it'll be something I have to keep a close eye on. I'm letting the plants dry a bit before attempting to set it up again and when i can check on it in closer increments. Also I think they are in the flowering stage as they are all autos but I could be wrong. I'm having a heat and humidity issue so I am installing a exhaust fan and venting it outside my grow space. Hopefully it fixes it.

Looks like the venting worked so far. Took a little bit to dial in the Blumat but once I got it set it has been working like a charm. I've added shut off valves and am rotating the 5 gallon buckets once a week.

Added a water regulator valve to my drip line. This makes it easy to swap out the buckets. I'm swapping out the buckets ever 4-5 days just to keep the water fresh. Still no added nutrients other than what was in the soil. Noticed an issue appearing with the light height due to the Gelato's growth. Lesson learned grow only same dominate types together.

Did some slight defoliation right before lights were due to turn off. Not sure if there is a better time or not to do it and I haven't read anything about it other than just mainly how to do it. Venting is working great.

I moved the light higher and added a side 80 watt LED grow light as well to cover more bud sites mainly for Diesel but it is hitting all 3 plants

This week I spent trimming the bottom branches because there is little light getting to them. I am also working on its positioning to get it the best lighting with it being shorter I am trying to defoliate the Gelato to help it as well.

Had to raise the base up to help with the distance to the light. Still just using just ph'd water no additional nutrients. No big changes this week.

I feel like she is getting close like 2 weeks or less I hope. All the Orange hairs make me antsy. Added Flower Fuel 1-34-32 N-P-K to the water supply this week I went with 1tsp for the 5 gallons instead of the recommended 1.25tsp per 5 gallons just to make sure i didnt over do it. . The trichromes are about 65-70% cloudy. I haven't noticed any amber ones yet but I'm am improving my skills with my jewelers loop so it could be more user error at the moment with not being able to find them. I'm checking on them a few times a day removing dead leaves.

The trichromes are mainly very cloudy with about 15% being clear or amber. So I hopefully will be harvesting it by the end of the week. The buds have gotten bigger and more frosty in the last few days which I'm not sure if it is sign of finishing or if it is catching a 2nd wind. Checking the undergrowth for dead leaves and removing them as needed. Also the main light was moved up to accommodate the other plants.

Is it time to harvest? Everything I have looked at online on this strain puts 12 weeks at the max and it just completed 13 full weeks.

Hi @Shmoogs! At the first sight your plant looks ready, but honestly no one can tell better than you, because you're the only one who can take a close look with a magnifier/microscope. The trichomes onto the buds should have changed from thin & clear / transparent to fat & milky / cloudy / opaque. Once you'll get only milky trichomes, the harvest window is open! For an energetic high, harvest before the first amber trichomes appear. For a couch-locking high, you'd rather harvest once 20-30% of the trichomes have turned amber/red, you'll get more CBN/CBD but less THC. Hope this will help you, keep us up-to-date and enjoy your harvest 👊

Really hands off grow besides some early minor LST. She grew easily but I think the plant would have done better with more space and with just indica strains because i had to keep the light higher away than i would have liked. I think it is a really good starter strain because I didn't do much more than water it and I am happy with the result.

I let the buds dry for 3 days before sampling it and it was worth the wait. It ground up easy in a hand grinder and smokes really nice and slow. Its a nice body buzz and made me want to chill and listen to music but not in a deep couch lock way. I ended up dance vacuuming so take that for what its worth. 😀 8/11/18 I wouldnt recommend this one right away in the morning unless you want to go back to sleep. I went back to sleep for 2 hours. Good thing its Saturday.
