Unfortunately, I was a bit worn out from being sick this week and the ladies really grew while I was too tired to prepare them for flower mode. On the last day of this week, I was feeling better and decided it's time to flip the tent into flower mode. I have filled the nutrient reservoir with a transition blend of Veg and Flower nutrients. I have switched the lights from Spring to Summer to get some more red light in the mix, and in the next week I plant to install a ScrOG net at about 42" from the light with the goal of keep the final canopy at about 36" from the light, which is the recommended distance published by FOHSE for their Aries light to cover a 4'x4' area. I also started increasing the brightness. I want to be around 600 PPFD by the end of next week if the plants can handle the increase. That should setup everything really nice for maybe finishing around 1100 PPFD in 8-12 weeks.
@BuffaloSoldier, thanks! My wife got Covid halfway through this run and that's when I forgot to water the plants and knew I had to get the auto watering system running before I caught it. Sure enough by the end of that week the watering system was installed and I was sick. After that the blumats worked great for weeks until one day the Kosher Kush started getting it's valve stuck open, which left Kush'n'cookies with minimal watering and the Kosher flooded.
My lesson learned is to either switch away from Botanicare to something people say works (like Athena) or just keep the reservoir for watering consistently then maybe just deliver nutrient water by hand every day. I'm still debating what will work better in the future.
But I'm really curious to see what the yield is on that Kosher Kush, the colas are massive!
@Flyalivebeats, it is the FOHSE Aries LED. I got it when they first released it with a big early bird discount, and I'm glad I did! I haven't had the light power over 77% yet since even that gets my light intensity around 730-820 PPFD about 36" from the light. The spectrum change and swiveling light bars are really nice to go veg to finished flower with one light. It's also completely waterproof. I heard about it early because I was engineering and industrial grows installing about 1,000 of the A3i's, and when I saw the home grow version announced I swiped one up before the price went up. From what I can tell, FOHSE makes the best lights on the market. But, they're know they're the best and have an associated price tag...
